Need? php-iconv-?
I am experiencing a folder display problem in squirrelmail [SF issue 1471703] which is caused by messages containing a From: header whose data string matches the following regexp: =?iso-2022-jp?B?[.*]=?=[.*] It has been suggested that I require php-iconv extentions to solve this but I seem unable to locate a CentOS or RedHat-EL4 rpm providing this package. Can anyone point me to a location

Cannot build custom locale with utf-8 charset
I am trying, without success, to compile a custom locale for the utf-8 character set. I have issued this command: localedef --no-archive -f UTF-8 -i /usr/share/i18n/locales/en_CA at yyyy-mmm-dd en_CA at yyyy-mmm-dd.utf8 which produces the requisite files without reporting an error but which none-the-less insists on using the iso-8859-1 charset: LC_ALL=en_CA at yyyy-mm-dd locale charmap

Custom locale, LC_TYPE and urxvt
I have a custom locale in use on our system. Consequently, Xlib does not recognize the default environment setting for LC_TYPE. To get an urxvt window opened without encountering the locale error message I am therefore constrained to use some variant of the following: LC_TYPE=en_US.UTF-8 urxvt& I would like to set LC_TYPE to a different value than LANG. However, based on experiment it

Customizing locale settings in CentOS-4.5
I am trying to determine how to customize the date and time display of system utilities and user programs using the locale settings. What I really want is some sort of utility program that does the same thing for CentOS as the Regions Settings Control Panel app. for MicroSoft Windows accomplishes, but I have no hope of seeing that. I have traced the login locale processing through /etc/profile

Postfix problems with maximum messages size
CentOS-6.2 I am confused. I need to accept messages somewhat larger than the default 10M allowed by Postfix. However, changing the message_size_limit in /etc/postfix/main.cf is having no effect. Squirrelmail is configured to accept and transmit messages up to 24M and this identical configuration is working on a Sendmail installation. So the problem appears to me to be strictly at Postfix

CentOS-5.3 saslauth configuration issue
I am trying to get cyrus-imapd and saslauthd running together so that I can get squirrelmail to work. I have accomplished this on several other servers and have relatively complete documentation on how to do this. What I am running into in this case has me baffled. If I start saslauthd as a service: # service saslauthd start And I try testsaslauthd -u cyrus -p test Then I see this: 0: NO

CentOS-5.4 Update?
hdwr HPQ DC7700S ix86 Core Duo I have just updated this CentOS-5.3 box to 5.4. This process was not satisfactory. While the update packages all downloaded without problem the update process itself stalled at several points. By stalled I mean that at some point the entire process stopped for hours. The packages at which it stalled included evince, evolution, totem and vinfo. There may have

MailScanner and SpamAssassin
I acknowledge beforehand that this list is not the primary place to discuss these specific applications, but I am pressed for time and many of you have a great deal of experience with these two products. We have MailScanner configured to use SpamAssassin and it works exactly as we wanted. Up until now. I now need to allow messages classified as spam to be delivered to a single mailbox. I

MPPE required, but kernel has no support.
Ok, on to new swamps. I would like to enable PPTP on CentOS4 to accept connections from clients running MicroSoft Win2K and XP pro from outside our firewall. I am testing pptpd-1.2.3-0 and tells me that I need kernel support for MPPE, which I suppose is MicroSoft's own form of PtoP encryption. Is there a way of doing this without rebuilding the kernel? If so, how? Regards, Jim --

Missing Dependency problem while upgraing a pure (?) whitebox 4 install to Centos 4.2
Hi all I don't have the full Centos 4 CD distro, only the minimal server one (single CD). I use whitebox 4 for desktop installs and then change the necessary files whitebox-release, diskdumputils, yum etc. & change it to centos...never had a problem. This time however, I don't know why, but I chose the "Everything" option in the package selection dialog during install. Post
