Extracting Plot Arguments
Hi All,
I'm building an autograding framework for my biostatistics class this
semester, and I am exploring different ways to automatically grade
figures.
In other classes, I teach ggplot2 and I extract information directly
from the ggplot2 object. However, in this class we are using base R
and I need to extract information from base-r graphics.
I've tried several different approaches,

INBOX help needed, dovecot + squirrelmail
Im trying to figure out how to get dovecot to deliver to
my mail_location (example: /opt/imapdata/j/jeff/INBOX/inbox)
AND work with squirrelmail. Ive worked on this for hours
reading the docs etc with no luck so far.
I get dovecot-lda to deliver to:
/opt/imapdata/j/jeff/INBOX/inbox
but when I use squirrelmail, I see the following in the log:

Capturing Function Arguments
I'm wrapping a function in R and I want to record all the arguments
passed to it, including default values and missing values. I want to
be able to snoop on function calls in sourced scripts as part of a
unit testing framework.
I can capture the values fine, but I'm having trouble evaluating them
as if `force()` had been applied to each of them.
Here is a minimal example:

Multiple wildcards in source
Hi there,
We have a directory structure such as:
"/home/foobar/domains/example.com/public"
"/home/cake/domains/mydomain.org/public"
I need to use a single rsync command to sync "/home/*/domains/*" to another
directory, but I'm really struggling on how to do this.

parRapply and parCapply return a list in corner cases
According to ?parCapply:
parRapply and parCapply always return a vector.
This appears not to be the case in the following minimal reproducible example:
> library(parallel)
> nslaves <- 2
> cl <- makeCluster(nslaves)
> X <- matrix(2,nrow=3,ncol=4)
> X <- rbind(c(1,1,0,1),X)
> tv <- parCapply(cl,X,FUN=function(x){

Ajax.Request: onFailure vs. onException
Hello All,
I''m trying to capture the exception message that my server application
is providing in response to my Ajax.Request. However, I''m confused as
to when onFailure is fired vs. onException. The onException handler has
access to the javascript exception object and I''d understood that it was
only called when the dispatch fails. Not sure what exactly that means

This is hard if not impossible to implement for the general case
because the default arguments are evaluated in the environment of the
function as it

Linux Suggestions
I''m fairly new to Ruby & Rails and I come from a stricly M$ background. I''m
trying to move into the world of open source, but I don''t have a good roadmap.
I''m starting to develop a Rails-based product and I want to have the option to
distribute it to non-hosted customers. So I''ve said all that to say this... I

question re: NETBIOS name resolution
Hello All,
I am having trouble with the WinNT name resolution of a Linux box
running Samba. It appears that NETBIOS is resolving the name itself but
doensn't know how to get to the resource. If I cahnge the NETBIOS
name of the Samba server to something with more than 8 characters
everything works fine. This work around seems like a bad idea since the
SMB NETBIOS name is different than the

user-defined columns
I am breaking ground on a new project and one of the issues I expect to encouter
is the ability of users to define their own columns. For example, one of the
features of this application will be the ability to store information about
people''s skills and then search for and schedule them based on this information.
Since every organization''s needs are different, it would be ideal

[LLVMdev] Replacing a repetitive sequence of code with a loop
Hey guys, in an HPC project I am working on I am given an LLVM program
consisting of a linear sequence of repetitive junks of code with an
uniform memory access pattern. Each code junk does the following: 1)
loads some memory, 2) performs some arithmetic operations, 3) stores the
result back to memory. The memory stride between consecutive junks is
constant over the whole program, thus the

Updating Squirrelmail-i18n dependency
Because of a folder display problem caused by certain character encodings used
in some email headers we had previously updated to squirrelmail-1.4.6-1 and
installed squirrelmail-i18n-1.4.6-1 to cope. Yum is now trying to update our
installation with the latest offical Centos release but there does not seem to
be a corresponding squirrelmail-i18n rpm available in any of the repositories

dovecot and squirrelmail
Is anyone using squirrelmail with dovecot? After a few minor tweaks
squirrelmail seems to work great, but I can't seem to get rid of the
"./" folder.
SquirrelMail implements some workaround hacks for specific IMAP server
quirks. The default setting is:
$imap_server_type = 'uw';
What settings do you folks use?
Thanks,
