horde sync status ?
Hello all,
I had a quick look at the horde site and noticed that
horde is being advertised as, let's say, "smartphone friendly".
Does anyone know if the newest horde version can "talk" to?
smart phones in regards to e-mails ?
In other words, can a user owning a smartphone get his/her
e-mails on it apart from the webpage ?
Thank you,

Thunderbird Problem - What causes this?
Strange problem and I'm not sure what's causing it. I'm using IMAP. A
new message arives in the inbox. I see it displayed in the message list
in bold. I click on the message and it looks like it's reading it by the
previous message that was in the window remains and the new message is
still bold (unread). However I can then click on an old message and then
click on the new

Need a little shadow to MySQL conversion help
Excuse me for being stupid and confused.
I'm trying to convert my dovecot install from passwd-file to mysql. I
have a single table called "users" that has 3 fields, user_name,
domain_name and password. The data came from passwd/shadow files so it
uses the same password encryption as the shadow files do. The directory
where the email is stored is calculated elsewhere and not

Old Thunderbird problem - need a fix
I've been having a Dovecot/Thunderbird problem for about a year now and
I need a fix. When I restart dovecot everything is fine but as the day
progresses thing start deteriorating.
When I empty my trash folder it doesn't empty. I get an indication that
email has arrived in my inbox by the unread message count but can't
access it. Messages arrive by appear to be empty. Folders that

IMAP goes down from time to time
Good Afternoon
I?m really new at this and i don?t know if i?m posting at the right place.
My problem is that our Dovecot IMAP is stopping from time to time with
no info in the log, i just realize about this when our support person
call me saying that the whatsup monitor is showing the IMAP4 process
down. I can figure about this too by trying to get in our webmail Horde
and i cannot login.

Multiple Concurrent IMAP Connections For Same User
Hi
I've been using courier for some time, but have just built a new box and
am using dovecot (V1.2.9), Ubuntu 10.04LTS. I have a question regarding
multiple concurrent imap connections and how to get dovecot to behave in
the same way that courier does. I have searched the wiki, but find
little relevant to my specific issue.

Large jumps in dovecot-uidlist
Since upgrading to Debian Wheezy I have been observing large jumps in
the value stored in dovecot-uidlist. The effect of these jumps is to
confuse some mail clients (Thunderbird, Opera Mail) causing them not to
display messages from a (random?) point in time onwards in the affected
folder.
I have been unable to determine the root cause of these jumps.
What I do know:
1. I never observed the

My view on 1.0 release and version numbering
Just throwing out some thoughts here. I know Timo has high standards and
is trying to make 1.0 bug free before calling it 1.0. But I want to
argue for an earlier less perfect 1.0.
Dovecot is already way past the quality of most 1.0 releases. So it is
good enough by common standards. No one really expects a 1.0 release to
be perfect. But - some people don't consider a product ripe until it

2.0beta4 doesn't respond to DONE after untagged FETCH during IDLE
Using K-9 Mail to IDLE on a test folder "MyIncTmp". When there is a
flag change on a message in the folder, which generates an untagged
FETCH, K-9 Mail responds with a DONE, but dovecot does not exit IDLE
state (LOG 1). However, if a new message is delivered, generating an
untagged EXISTS, K-9 Mail responds the same way, with a DONE, and
dovecot does exit IDLE state. (LOG 2) You

Trying to finish a simple xyplot, but the key colors don't match
those specified on the plot. I have only been able to change the
color of the key text, but not the points.

Authentication feature I need
OK - here's whay I need to make it work for my Linuxconf compatible
authentication system. First - a question:
Will this work? I can find docs on "virtualfile.
auth virtualfile {
mechanisms = plain digest-md5
userdb = passwd-file /etc/vmail/passwd.%d
passdb = passwd-file /etc/vmail/shadow.%d
user = root
}
Then - since the dmain name selects the passwd file, if there were a

Dovecot Version Numbers - Let's drop the Alpha?
I'd like to make a suggestion. Let's drop the Alpha and come out with an
official version 1.0.
Here's my reasons. The 0.9x version are obsolete and people should be
using the 1.0 Alpha versions which seem to me to do everything the
previous versions did and more. It's as full featured and stable as all
other IMAP servers and in my opinion is ready to be called 1.0.

Feature Request - Authentication Scheme - Linuxconf
This would make my life a lot easier in migrating to Dovecot. And it
should be really easy to implement. Here's how linuxconf does it:
Password files are placed in the /etc/vmail directory as follows:
/etc/vmail/passwd.domain1
/etc/vmail/shadow.domain1
/etc/vmail/passwd.domain2
/etc/vmail/shadow.domain2
The password and shadow files are exactly the same format as the
/etc/password and

For earlier Android versions, K9
