2.0 and vpopmail
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi all, Does 2.0 require a specific version of vpopmail? I'm getting this on my build attempt : /usr/src/redhat/BUILD/dovecot-2.0.0/src/auth/passdb-vpopmail.c:185: undefined reference to `vauth_load_module' Yes, it's an RPM, that's how I roll. I'm not finding vauth_load_module anywhere on my system.. I'm running vpopmail

Namespaces
Hi all, I'm working to convert from a bincIMAP setup to a Dovecot setup. I've tried messing around with namespaces to make the conversion transparent, but I'm getting nowhere. Are namespaces necessary? Or can I proceed by recursively renaming the folders on the server? A transparent solution would be wonderful, but I can't get it to work for me.. Any help would be

Absolute Maximal Bandwidth
Hey, I currently have a box serving as a firewall (running iptables) and packet shaper (using tc / tcng''s tcc compiler) to shape a large amount of inbound and outbound traffic to my data center. Whilst I can perform shaping functions using HTB, I need to also provide an absolute (to the nearest few 100kb/s) bandwidth usage maximum. As an example I might have 200MBit/sec

tcng ingress policing question
Hi all I started playing with tcng to generate my tc rules, but I have some difficulty implementing my rules... The script below generates an error: # Device eth0 tc qdisc add dev eth0 ingress beginner.tc:2: don''t know how to build meter for this The script is below, I changed the real IP numbers for XXs and YYs, since it doesn''t really matter what they are. eth0 is the

Ingress and polishing
Hi, We are using kernel 2.4.24, tcng version 10b. I''m trying to do some policing in the ingress queue of the internet device. Until now we had configured some filters dividing traffic into queues, and on these queues the Double Leaky bucket meter was applied. The idea is to have a minimum of bandwidth assigned per class (the cir values) and a maximum (pir values), just as with the

Loadbalanced NFS as disk for VMs
Hi list, Is it possible to have NFS based load balancing and failover enabled storage without stacking switches? Or is this only doable with iSCSI and multipathd? I''m reading about XenServer and openvswitch, how multiple VMs would be able to use all physical links using SLB bonds, it works for networking but not for storage? (As the nfs share is mounted on dom0?) Using openvswitch

smbd won't start!! Please help!!
Hi. We have had SAMBA running successfully at work here for a while, it's on a Sun Sparc Solaris 2.6. The version of samba is 2.0.0. Unfortunately our sysadmin has left the company, and I have to try and fix a problem with Samba. When I try and start samba, "nmbd" starts ok, but "smbd" doesn't start. When I check the log files, I get these errors: [2001/09/24

Random "File Not Found" errors Using Samba, Works on NetApp
I am experiencing a strange problem where I am randomly getting "file not found" error messages on a Samba share when they are accessed via a series of tcl scripts running from a Win2K server. Some of the scripts are located on the 2K server and some reside on the Samba share. Unfortunately, this is a third party application and I do not know enough tcl to usefully troubleshoot it from

tcng version 9b
... is on SourceForge, http://tcng.sourceforge.net/#src This one fixes a really stupid typo causing tcsim''s tc to pick up HZ from the environment where it''s being run, not the simulation environment, which confused most rate calculations. And if_u32.c now only emits hashes that will actually be used, which should make tcc''s tc output a little less ugly. Complete list

[tcng] More complex example?
Hi I''m completely stuck with the tcng language - I assume there must be some way to arrange queues hierachically like eth1 | TBF | PRIO / \ class class but my attempt (below) produces a "inferno.tc:8: qdisc "tbf" has no classes near "prio"" when run through tcc. dev eth1 { egress { tbf (rate 128kbps, burst 64kb,

netapp/maildir/dovecot performance
We are seeing some poor performance recently that is focused around users with large mailboxes (100,000 message /INBOX, 80,000 message subfolders, etc). The performance problem manifests as very high system% utilization - basically iowait for NFS. There are two imap servers with plenty of horsepower/memory/etc. They are connected to a 3050c cluster via gig-e. Here are the mount options:
