Ubuntu 9.x segmentation fault with vpopmail auth
I've been trying for 24 hours now, to get an IMAP server which will
autenticate off of vpopmail cdb database and the auth module always
segfaults on login.
I'm using vpopmail 5.5.0 only because it is the only version which seems
to create a dynamically linked version of the library.
I tried latest releases dovecot 1.0, 1.1, and 1.2. Also latest mercurial
pulls of 1.1 and 1.2.

Dovecot doesn't use vchkpw properly :(
Hey all,
It seems that dovecot does NOT call vchkpw properly when using
vpopmail-style authentication, I can only guess that it reads the
vpasswd{,.cdb} files directly. This is indicated by the syslog log
for the mail facitily which reads:
Jun 30 16:51:30 [vpopmail] vchkpw-smtp: (PLAIN) login success
blah at blah.com:24.17.153.137
Jun 30 17:16:25 [pop3-login] Login: blah at blah.com

Disabling auth fallback to PAM
Hi folks,
According to the wiki,? it's considered a feature of Dovecot and its
ability to support multiple authentication sources that "if the
password doesn't match in the first database, it checks the next
one".

I think it's great that Dovecot allows auth sources to be stacked
like this, but I am not sold on the

Vpopmail and lastauth
Hello, I'm migrating many accounts to a new server with vpopmail 5.4.33
and dovecot 2.0.11.
I've already vpopmail 5.4.32 and dovecot 1.2.16 on others servers
running without problems.
With dovecot 2.0.11 my lastauth file is not updated. This file usually
is update on any access (smtp, pop3, imap) with the client's IP, for
every mailbox. Now it's updated only when a client

Feature question/request
So I have a bunch of users who are roaming - IE no static IP address from all
over the internet. Some of them are able to use SMTP-AUTH which is great, but
for those that can't, a pop before smtp solution is in place using
relay-ctrl-age & cdb files via qmail.
Would it be desirable to have this feature in dovecot? I'd really like to
ditch qmail-pop3d, etc.
vpopmail has a

My apologies if I'm posting for information which has already been

about the change in 2.0.3, but no details on the commit other than "I

We have not received any reports for the 5.4 or 5.5 branch of vpopmail

CDB tables in Centos7 Postfix ?
Hi,
It seems the default binaries don't have CDB tables compiled into them ?
Now, I know Centos isn't Ubuntu, but on Ubuntu there is an optional
package in the main distribution "postfix-cdb - CDB map support for
Postfix". I can't find anything similar using "yum search", so I'm
guessing that's not an option.
Unless anyone else here corrects me

Problem installing latest dovecot w vpopmail
Hello -
I am trying to migrate my dovecot installation from an older server
running version 1.x to the latest 2.0.3
When I run configure --with-vpopmail, it bombs pretty quick as follows:
./configure --with-vpopmail
checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c
checking whether build environment is sane... yes
checking for a thread-safe mkdir -p... /bin/mkdir -p

Problem with vpopmail auth
Hello,
I've install 1.021 and am having some problems getting vpopmail
authentication to work correctly (running 0.99 in production, upgrading
to 1.021). I'm using vpopmail-5.4.16. Here are the authentication
debug statements in the log, my dovecot.conf changes from default, and
the schema of my vpopmail database. Any ideas / suggestions? I've
commented out all authentication

Hi I've got rsync setup to replicate DNS for an irc network I help run.
I'm the primary DNS, so I use the rsync client to connect to a friend running another DNS server, and he has the rsync daemon setup.
the conf is as follows

XHCI umass support breaks between r248085 and r252560 on 9-STABLE
Three different external hard drives (Seagate, Western Digital and noname USB 3.0 enclosure) refused to be recognized as the umass devices. Reverting /usr/src/sys/dev/bsd/controller to r248085, building and loading just xhci module makes drives appear again. Below are snippets from the log in both cases:

[PATCH] uapi/virtio_scsi: allow overriding CDB/SENSE size
QEMU wants to use virtio scsi structures with
a different VIRTIO_SCSI_CDB_SIZE/VIRTIO_SCSI_SENSE_SIZE,
let's add ifdefs to allow overriding them.
Keep the old defines under new names:
VIRTIO_SCSI_CDB_DEFAULT_SIZE/VIRTIO_SCSI_SENSE_DEFAULT_SIZE,
since that's what these values really are:
defaults for cdb/sense size fields.

[PATCH 3/4] scsi-disk: Factor out SCSI command emulation
Other drives might want to use SCSI command emulation without
going through the SCSI disk abstraction, as this imposes too
many limits on the emulation.
