Installing windows drivers into print$ on OS X 10.5 Leopard
Has anyone had any success installing windows printer drivers onto a
leopard-hosted print$ share?
If I use the Add Printer Wizard method, if copies the driver files to \
\SERVER\print$\W32X86 then fails with an "Operation cannot be
completed."
If I use the rpcclient method I get a WERR_INVALID_PARAM error. Using
the Adobe Generic PostScript driver as an example.

RFC: Bug-closing protocol
TL;DR: It's okay to close a bug, if you can justify it properly.
Recently there has been a spate of bug-closing with what I would call
inadequate documentation. Comments such as "Obsolete?" or "I assume
it's fixed" could be applied to nearly every open bug we have. While
this does reduce the open bug count--something I have been watching
with morbid fascination

LDAP & static userdb
hi..
im just testing 2.0 before upgrading to v1.2 :)
in auth-ldap.conf.ext i found
# If you don't have any user-specific settings, you can avoid the userdb LDAP
# lookup by using userdb static instead of userdb ldap, for example:
# <doc/wiki/UserDatabase.Static.txt>
#userdb {
#driver = static
#args = uid=vmail gid=vmail home=/var/vmail/%u
#}
On 1.2 im using LDAP lookup and

RFC: Bug-closing protocol
Isn't svn set up to auto-parse and post to the bug so you can just say
"fixes bug 44444" and it parses it out?
I mean, i added that to gcc like 15 years ago, i'm surprised we don't do
this :)
Nobody should have to add this info manually unless someone forgot to put
it in a commit message.

Converting file system
Hi @all!
I tested what happens with a file which is saved at a FAT32 partition and then this partition is converted to NTFS.
So first I transfered the file with rsync from the FAT32 partition to my Linux /home folder. Then I converted the FAT32 partition to NTFS.
After the convertation I transfered the file again to see what has changed (amount of data).
I was surprised!!!! Nothing has changed!!!

winbind: auto create home directories
Hi,
I'm running samba 3.0.2a as a windows domain MEMBER, security=ADS.
Just installed winbind last week it it looks great.
I noticed that it is possible to set a homedir_template for winbind;
however winbind has no option to create this directory on the fly (and
populate it with .profile etc).
I found the code for pam_mkhomedir to have pam session create the
homedirectory when a session

Configuring Shared Mailbox Dictionaries
Hello, list!
I am in the midst of configuring a new Dovecot IMAP server, and I'm
preparing to setup shard mailboxes as part of the ocnfiguration. In
order to get these setup the way I want, I've figured out that I'm going
to have to setup an acl_shared_dict. This is where things start to get
confusing for me, as I have had difficulty finding thorough explanations
of dictionary

RFC: Bug-closing protocol
https://gcc.gnu.org/viewvc/gcc/hooks/
is how it was done.
This used the incoming email handling for bugzilla i set up.
These days, you could just use bugzilla's rest API
IE a simple variant of
https://github.com/mozilla/github-bugzilla-pr-linker/blob/master/app/app.py
should work as a commit hook.
That thing is written as a service, you just need the find/add parts of the
rest api, rip
