from 1.2.
Many people's client aree-retrieving mail from server due to some
problem with dovecot-uidlist file.
Looking at log file seem that all file content is sometime duplicated
and appended to the and of same file.
It look as another process was accesing and trying to modify uidlist table.

LMTP proxying strategy with multiple recipient delivery
Hi Timo and All,
how does Dovecot act when an MTA tries to deliver a multiple recipient
message to a LMTP proxied system?
Does it uses server affinity table for each recipient?
I use lmtp_destination_recipient_limit = 1 setting in postfix to avoid
multiple recipient delivery. Is it right?
I use lmtp_destination_concurrency_limit = 1 too, but i think that it's
useless or, maybe, it can

recalculation of maildir Quota
Hello,
I intend to use maildir Quota for measurement only, not for applying
restrictions. Therefore I defined rather high values. That's working as
expected. Nevertheless it's not useful, because the recalculation time
is to high. This takes some minutes for my own mailaccount with 250.000
mails on a NFS storage. This would be to bad, but whilst this time, the
Mailclient hangs. Probably

dovecot overquota and delete message
Hi all,
i use dovecot-1.1_rc1 with postfix and maildrop as deliver. The problem is
where user gets overquota, at this point he is unable to delete message in
pop3 as imap.
dovecot.conf has:
plugin {
quota = maildir
}
protocol imap {
mail_plugins = quota imap_quota
}
protocol pop3 {
mail_plugins = quota
}
I change it to
plugin {
quota = maildir:ignore=Trash
}

overquota message
Hi,
is it possible to customize the overquota message ?
I'd like very much if it was possible to use the %d in the postmaster mail
address (and overquota message) too ... in virtual domain environment it is
very likely ..
thanks in advance

Warn before overquota
Looking in the archives I found a message from dominik.saar at 1und1.de on the
16/08/06, that is asking for a system to control the overquota warnings from
within dovecot or dovecot LDA.
The proposed solution is to use exim as MTA, since it has build in support.
In my case I'm using postfix, what would be the recommended approach in that
case?
I was thinking of something like the cyrus LDA

Change text from default overquota message - Possible?
I'm using Dovecot 1.0.5-6 (SuSE 10.3) and using dovecot deliver.
Is it possible to change the subject/body of the default overquota message (it says "Automatically rejected mail" on the subject) and also the text from the message? I don't wan't to "hack" anything, just if it's possible to do by editing config files.
thanks

Some Dovecot LDA version sends MDN rather than DSN for overquota.
It appears that there is some version of the Dovecot LDA that is
sending an RFC 3798 MDN rather than an RFC 3464 DSN to report
non-delivery to a user who is over quota.
See <https://bugs.launchpad.net/mailman/+bug/693134> for a discussion
of this and
<https://bugs.launchpad.net/mailman/+bug/693134/+attachment/1773018/+files/Automatically%20rejected%20mail.msg>
for the actual MDN

Overquota bounce
Hi all,
I have implemented a mail system with postfix and dovecot as LDA.
Users who have exceeded their quota when receiving messages dont'see the
message bounced. I see this error in maillog: dsn=4.3.0, status=deferred
(temporary failure)
This is my configuration:
protocol imap {
mail_plugins = quota imap_quota
login_executable = /usr/local/libexec/dovecot/imap-login

quota_set->quota_exceeded_msg = getenv("QUOTA_EXCEEDED_MESSAGE");

[v 2.3.4.1][quota] recalculation
Hello,
I can't find the information on the wiki :(
When is the quota recalculated after a mail deletion ?
For instance, I am running low of storage and I use Thunderbird to
delete large mail. I only notice a recalculation when I quit
Thunderbirdb and I relaunch it.
Even, with doveadm CLI, as long as Thunderbird is not disconnected on
the client side, the server didn't recalculate the

[v 2.3.4.1][quota] recalculation
Hi,
Does thunderbird even delete the mail from storage if you delete it from UI?
Most imap clients with default configuration just flag the mail \Deleted but do not actually expunge if from server.
In Apple Mail.App that I use there is "Erase Deleted Items" to actually expunge mails previously flagged \Deleted.

Sendmail and deliver LDA exits with EX_TEMPFAIL on overquota
Hi all,
I have setup dovecot 1.1.4 and sendmail 8.14.3 with dovecot LDA on linux
(RHEL5 on x86_64).
I have deliberately set a very low quota (4MB) on a test account, while
the actual disk usage is 5MB at the moment, in order to test overquota
behaviour..
When I send an email to this account, sendmail accepts the email and
tries to deliver it. Deliver fails to save in INBOX and returns an
