Anaconda allows x86_64 CD/DVD to be used to install i386 system
As subject says. I just noticed that Anaconda allows x86_64 CD/DVD to
be used to install i386 system (using network installation, of course).
This is basically broken. For example, yum will believe that it is
installed on x86_64, not on i386. So when you do for example yum
update, it will try to install x86_64 packages on i386 system. Which
isn't going to fly, since installed

openldap 2.3.x?
Hi,
Just wondering, has anybody thought of making openldap 2.3.x part of
centos plus? I had some problems with openldap 2.2.x, and all the
answers I got about it were to upgrade to 2.3. It seems 2.2 is dead
release nowdays, and openldap people do not recommend using it for
production anymore.

cacti on centos
Hi all,
I'm trying to get Cacti installed on my CentOS 4.3 x86_64 box. I've
got all of required packages installed, and created database file, and
followed all the instructions in install manual.
However, when I get login screen and use admin for username/password,
it simply redirects me straight back to login screen. Looking at
user_log table, the authentication was

SMP kernel on old Asus CUV4X-DLS motherboard
Just wondering if anybody managed to get SMP kernel to boot properly on
an old Asus CUV4X-DLS motherboard (older dual P-III)?
I had this problem only with this specific motherboard and 2.6 kernels.
First time couple of years ago. And again today (I've just installed
CentOS4 on a box that used to run RH7.3). Previously those machines
were running Red Hat 7.3 (2.4 kernels), and with 2.4

Fwd: Still no C4-8xl for Centos6-HVM AMI
I asked back in September about getting the Centos6-HVM AMI updated to
support the C4-8XL instance type. Karanbir responded
https://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos-virt/2016-September/005222.html
but I still see no evidence this has happened. This is a major thorn in
our side and has prevented us from going completely to the C4 instance type
?, which we need for performance? (both CPU and

Chan_capi 0.3.1 , Asterisk , 3 x C4 active ISDN card Segmentation fault
Hi,
i use chan_capi 0.3.1 with asterisk (stable branch cvs) and 3 x c4
active ISDN card.
From Controller 1 - 7 there are no problems making calls between
asterisk and the pstn.
But when i make calls from controller 8 - 12 i get on every controller
(8 - 12) a segmentation fault in asterisk :(
I tried different linux distributions (gentoo 2004.1, redhat 9.0 , suse
9.1) but same error.

ISDN, AVM C4, HFC-cards and echo
Hello,
I've been using * for quite a while using AVM C4 card and a few
Grandstream Budgetone 102 hard phones plus couple of HandyTone 286.
Echo is a big problem. I am getting used to it, but some users complain.
Anyone has experience w/ regards to echo comparing the AVM C4 with two
HFC-cards? Before shelling out time and money, maybe someone else
already has done so, and could tell me if

Missing update announcements for C4 i386 / x86_64
Hi,
the latest updates for perl, xorg-x11, net-snmp, openoffice.org for C4
were announced for the ia64 and s390(x) archs, but not for i386 and
x86_64 altough they are available on the updates mirrors.
Also, what is the policy for announcements of updates that occurred
after the C5.2 release? I see them on the update mirrors. Shouldn't
these update be also announced independently from the C5.2

Module loading order during install
Is there a way in a kickstart install to affect the order in which modules
get loaded? I want to load 3w-xxxx before 3w-9xxx so that my OS mirror
drives take their proper place as sda and sdb, but centos-4 wants to load
3x-9xxx first, making my (unbootable) big arrays the first two drives. In
this configuration, it seems that even trying to install grub to /dev/sdc
fails. Ideas? Thanks.

CentOS 7.2 laptop wireless Intel Corporation Centrino Wireless-N 2230 (rev c4)
Hello Philip,
In my test cases on Centos 6 or 7 I always run an elrepo kernel or build my own one from rewritten spec file. That helps me out to get Centos work as good it can be.
Personal playground, those packages are unsigned!!!
