autotest stop working, 1.0.9?
My autotest runs but when I make changes to a spec it doesn''t reload. I checked another application I was building that had 1.0.9 but it was reloading fine. How would I debug a problem such as autotest not reloading? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... typos in a tutorial page
This page has some typos in the forth grey box http://rspec.rubyforge.org/tutorials/stack_04.html "should_equal" should be "should ==" and "should_not_be_empty" should be "should_not be_empty" this causes some spec to fail By the way, this is my first mail to the list, so Hi everybody !!

ANN: RSpec 0.9.0 beta-1 available for download.
We''d like to get some feedback on RSpec 0.9 before we start pushing out releases via Rubyforge''s gem server and update the website. We have therefore made the first beta of 0.9 available - both prepackaged and tagged in subversion (see below). RSpec 0.9 introduces a new API for expectations, which essentially means that your underscores go away (there has been other discussions

Preconditions
Sorry, lots of questions these days. Is there a normal approach for preconditions? In JUnit, I might put a few assertions in the setUp() just to make sure that the test ''data'' I''ve created meets expectations before going to test it. So, for instance, I''ve got an object that is audited using acts_as_audited and I''d like to test the XML that results

Role of stories vs specs, revisited
A couple months ago I asked how stories and specs might impact each other. [1] If you look at Dan North''s example of what''s in a story [2], and you imagine using the spec framework to drive the design, you can probably imagine a significant bit of overlap in the two. Is that a bad thing? I''m not sure. It has made me a bit uncomfortable though, and I''ve

autotest & rspec2
Hi guys, I''m trying to find some information on how to get autotest to run the rspec2 tests. I have my project setup so "rake spec" runs the specs properly, but autotest seems to ignore/don''t know that there are specs to test. I read on the rspec2 wiki that autotest integration is o be added eventually. Any ideas on how to achieve this? Thanks, Jeroen

Spork + Autotest Failure

AutoTest / Rspec - "stack level too deep"
Hello, I''m running AutoTest with Rspec on a Rails application. Every 20 or so runs I get "stack level too deep" on one particular controller stub. Ex. controller.stub!(:login).and_return(true) This particular line is in a before block of a certain describe block. The strange thing is, every single spec in this file fails on that one line, even the specs in other describe

False Positives and Autotest on New Folders
False Positives I just discovered how easy it was to create a false positive when I, trying my first RSpec test, did this: ob.should eql?(''foo'') instead of: ob.should eql(''foo'') or: ob.should == ''foo'' As far as I can see, this is roughly equivalent to: ob.should false Neither eql?(''foo'') nor false causes the spec

using RSpec''s trunk in non-rails projects w/ Autotest
I believe for rails projects you can put rspec''s code repos into vendor/plugins, and autotest will automatically use the rspec binary in that directory, and not the gem installed. Is there an easy way to do this for non-rails projects? There are a few advancements on trunk which I would like to take advantage of. Tips welcome ; ). Scott Taylor

Rspec autotest error
Hi all, I tried testing with Rspec for first time, following a tutorial. "rspec spec/" works fine but when I try ''autotest'' it gives me the error message below. I also made a gist about it: https://gist.github.com/779265 It seems like a redgreen or ZenTest error. I''m using Ubuntu10, Rails3, Ruby 1.9 and RVM. Any help is appriciated, thanks in advance, gezope

Autotest/RSpec 1.1.4/Rails 2.1 Infinite Loop?
I just got back from RailsConf, and upgraded on of my development apps to 2.1, and now autotest is going into an infinite loop. It runs tests continuously instead of waiting for files to be saved before rerunning. Has anybody else seen this, or know how to get around it? Thanks, Andrew
