Problem with client login in 1.2.17
Hi,
I have been using CentOS 5.5 with Dovecot 1.0.7.
My client apps login with TLS/SSL using an postgres database for username and password authentication.
I developed a plugin that added an additional IMAP command.
I want to eventually migrate to release 2.0 but have decided to make this a two step process.
I have started with 1.2.17 as I hope this would be a smaller step along the way.
I have

Problem uploading files (possibly an OS X issue?)
I have a running Rails application that uploads files back to the
server occasionally. I recently switched my development machine from a
Linux box to OS X 10.5, using the Apache server built-in on OS X and
mod_fcgid. I thought everything was fine until I recently tried to use
the file upload feature. If I specify a reasonable sized (164 Kb) file
for upload then I get an immediate error, before my

[PATCH] x86/ACPI: invalidate BGRT
Since the image pointed to may (and generally will) live in boot
services memory (which we add to the global memory pool long before
ACPI tables get looked at), we should prevent Dom0 from trying to
retrieve the image data.
The alternatives would be to
- not add boot services memory to the global pool at all, or
- defer adding boot services memory until Dom0 indicates it is safe to
do so, or

[PATCH nbdkit 0/3] Refactor plugin_* functions into a backend struct.
Somewhat invasive but mostly mechanical change to how plugins are
called. This patch is in preparation for adding a second backend
subtype for filters.

New installation - error 89 on connect
I've recently installed dovecot (0.99.8.1) from the Debian/woody
backport at 'deb http://src.braincells.com/debian woody/'
Previously, all mail have been delivered to mbox'es in ~/Mail by
exim/procmail -- ~/Mail/inbox being my main mailbox.
Whenever I attempt to connect with an IMAP client, the connection is
closed and the following error is reported in /var/log/syslog:

Postfix: Command died with status 89: "/usr/lib/dovecot/deliver"
One of our servers running Dovecot 1.0.beta3 and dovecot-lda has
failed to deliver a few messages and I can't figure out why. Very few
messages bounce and I don't see any common thread between them other
than time. The 15:19:11 message was a company wide announcement and
the other 4 servers (identical configuration) were able to deliver it.

Error 89
Just installed dovecot 1.1.2. downloaded from dovecot.org. Seemed to
compile and install OK but I get the following error when I try to start it
"child 28410 (auth) returned error 89 (fatal failure)"
I just want to use it for SMTP/SASL authorization, not Pop3 or IMAP, as yet
It looks as though I haven't installed some component or other but what?
Config file follows;
