SQLite with PHP5 problem
Has anyone ever installed PHP5 with SQLiteDatabase class support in CentOS
4.3?
I have to run a program with this class for a core feature.
But unfortunately, both the php 5.0.4 package in centosplus and a SRPM build
from FC5 will not work with this class.
With the error "undefined class SQLiteDatabase"!
And there *IS* the "pdo_sqlite.so" extension in my php.d/pdo.ini file, as

I am having issues installing Centos 4.3 X86-64

It works with any combo of the 4 1GB chips I have. It only works with 2GB

ssh session output stalls
Hello,
Is anyone else having problems with the ssh session output stalling
when ssh'd to another system and the command is running via sudo and a
pager is being used (e.g., more)?
Too highly reproducible :( to date, all known occurrences have
involved Centos 4.3 servers; makes no difference whether client is
RHEL WS 4.3, Centos 4.3 or FC 5 or WinDoze. Makes no difference if

64-bit ISO Burning Failures
Hi,
I have downloaded several different sets of the 64-bit ISOs, and have
burned them to CD using various of my known-good ISO burning softwares,
including Nero and DeepBurn on Windows, as well as the native CD burning
KDE linux tool on Xandros Linux. I am using mirrors from the site, like
kernel.org.
I have chosen low burning speeds also, but when I insert the ISO CD into a
server and boot it

R plot like candlestick
Hi all,
I'm new on this list so I greet all.
My question is: does exist in R a plot similar to candlestick plot but
not based on xts (time series)? I have to plot a range of 4 value: for
every item I have min value, max value and 2 intermediate values. I
would like plot this like a candlestick, i.e. with a box between 2
intermediate values and 1 segment between box and min value and a
segment

I read this list often, and although I'm not smart enough to contribute,
I learn a lot every day.
But I read a post from this morning that contained this:
>a fair amount of jiggery-pokery
Just wondering...is this a technical term? Where is it documented?
I won't offer any insight into what vision it gave me.

Thanks for all the work on the distribution and all the invaluable

Tripwire for CentOS
Hi,
I literally have about 36 machines running CentOS on a private network,
and will probably change the remaining 30 or so away from Whitebox or RH
in the near term.
One thing I just noticed was when I tried to search out Tripwire RPM's,
that none seemed evident.
Can anyone point me in the direction of an Tripwire RPM that works with
CentOS 4.3, or advise me on how to create one from the

32->64 bit
Is it possible to take a Centos 3.7 machine - that was
installed with the 32 bit version of CentOS, and update
it to a 64 bit kernel?
In other words - convert an i386 to ia64. I don't care
about the applications, just the kernel.

Installing a RPM with yum
Hi all, this is my first post...
Here the situation, I've installed php 4 with yum, using the default
CentOS repositories, but now I realize that I need the Informix
extensions and others like unixodbc, gd etc. This last two packages
where in the repository so I search with yum and I found them, and
install them, but not the Informix one.
So here my question, when I install a RPM package,

Latest x86_64 != latest i386 packages?
I have CentOS 4.3 on two machines, one i386 (3.0GHz P4) and one x86_64
(2.6GHz Opteron).
Both have
centos-release-4-3.2
autoconf-2.59-5
However, on the i386:
perl-5.8.5-34.RHEL4
Whereas on the x86_64:
perl-5.8.5-24.RHEL4
Is this really correct?
I ask because when I attempt to recompile zsh on the x86_64 box, I
unaccountably get this error:

yum and python. grief and grief. CentOS 4.3
Hello.
Maybe after work with FreeBSD I become too spoilt, but I expect that
packages from one distribution kit works among themselves well. But
that I see:
$ rpm -qa | grep rpm
rpm-libs-4.3.13_nonptl
rpm-python-4.3.13_nonptl
rpm-4.3.13_nonptl
rpm-build-4.3.13_nonptl
$python
>>> import rpm
ImportError /usr/lib/librpm-4.3.so: undefined symbol: rpm_execcon
Thanks.

Kernel build on i386 and nohighmem forbidden?
I looked in the release notes, but maybe I missed it. Is it not possible to
build a kernel from CentOS 4.3 (using 2.6.9-34.0.1) with HIGHMEM support turned
off? This is for a machine with 512mb.
When I try to build the kernel, I get _etext undefined symbol on line 100 of
pageattr.c in arch/i386/mm.

alsa 1.0.11 compile on 4.3
anyone compiled alsa 1.0.11 on 4.3? I get errors compileing alsa-drivers.
Thanks for any suggestions if you have done it.
Anyone can try it download from http://alsa-project.org and doing
the extract, ./configure and make. With out the make install nothing
should be
affected on your system if you dont want to use the new version.
Thanks,

compat-libstdc ++
Hi;
As a prerequisite for IBM's db2 Viper they say:
"For RHEL, all available compat-libstdc ++ RPM-packages must be installed."
Can anyone please advise how to achieve this quickly via yum? (64bit
software running on 64bit centos 4.3.)
Thanks;

PHP 5.0.4 and PostgreSQL
Hello list.
Does anybody of you use PHP 5.0.4 from "CentOS plus" repo and
PostgreSQL 8.1.x from www.postgresql.org (rpms for RHLE 4 AS)?
(php-pgsql.rpm I have installed)
On my machine PHP don't connect to PostgreSQL. Anybody of you set it up?
On the other server I use PHP and PostgreSQL included into CentOS 4.x
and it works fine.
Regards.
