Re: how to install BackupPC on CentOS 5.2 -- how do I use Test repository?
Ok, downloading the BackupPC RPM directly did not work to myriad dependencies and sub-dependencies. How do I add the Test repository to my yum config, please? Write pure sine to *.ogg directly?
Hello, I am author of a Morse code training software written in Perl at http://starling.ws/morse Currently I output to *.wav and, if on Unix, convert to *.ogg. And that's okay for a trainer. But I have desire to upgrade the project to a real-time communication tool...or at least a Morse code audio mail routine. And I should like to avoid *.wav. I'd like some means of writing a pure

Cleaning up an RPM repository.
Hello All, At my $WORK we have lots of in-house applications used to support the services we offer to customers and we deploy these to servers as RPMS. This works well for us except we have thousands of obsolete packages in our Yum repository that need to be cleaned up. What I would like to achieve is to keep the latest version + the last 3 revisions of a package and delete the older revisions.

Upgraded BackupPC (3.0.0) in the Testing Repository
There is an upgraded BackupPC in the testing repository. It is version 3.0.0, which was released in January. The setup differences between version 2.1.2 and this version is that some file directories have shifted locations: 1. /var/lib/backuppc/conf is now instead /etc/BackupPC/ 2. /var/lib/backuppc/log is now /var/log/BackupPC =============================== If you are upgrading ... you

WARNING you cannot build info or html versions of the R manuals
Ah yes, those. Replace the rpm -Uvh with yum update and it should resolve the dependencies for you. If that fails, just pass all of those deps (in "") to yum install. Sorry about that! Missing Dependency subversion is needed by package subversion-ruby
Greets. I''m currently trying to install GIT on an RHEL5 box. I''ve tried to both build from source and install via yum. In both instances I continue to receive the error message (full error stack at the end):
Error: Missing Dependency: subversion = 1.4.2-2.el5 is needed by package subversion-ruby
If I''m reading this correctly I''m seeing that svn

More oddities with priorities
Following on from my previous, I removed the perl-Date-Manip and re-installed the Centos base perl-DateManip package. When I do a "check-update" then it shows nothing needs to be done, but if I do an "update" then it tries to replace the package! In the following, c5-local, update-local, rpmforge are local rsync'd copies of the base, updates and rpmforge repositories.

can't install rrdtool, problems with dependancies
Hi all, I have tried to install rrdtool manually, but have noticed that I need perl-rrdtool as well for it to work, and I have approached this the wrong way. So, instead of installing rpmforge first, I have downloaded the rrdtool from sourceforge and installed it the old-fashioned way, totally forgot about rpmforge. So, now I want to remove it, and install it via rpmforge in order to get

ASan port for Myriad RTEMS
Hi Jake. Thanks for the info. Where can I keep up to date on the symbolizer status? Our symbolizer is provided by the Myriad vendor and integrated into its host test environment. It doesn't do much: just look for PC string patterns and symbolize them using addr2line. Thanks, Walter On Fri, May 4, 2018 at 5:36 PM Jake Ehrlich <jakehehrlich at google.com> wrote: > Hey, > I

Hey, I work on fuchsia symbolizer stuff. I don't know if you guys already have an external symbolizer but I'm working on making one right now and I plan on making one backed by LLVM that can be run host-side or target-side. I'd like to contribute that back to llvm ideally. What do you guys have so far? I have a prototype in golang that just spins up an instance of llvm-symbolizer

OT: Installing munin-node cleanly in spite of RPM
Hi, This is totally off-topic (it''s an rpm/rpmbuild problem), but I want to get to a point where I''m installing and configuring munin-node with puppet. To do that, I need a clean, standardized way of installing munin-mode on CentOS (RHELish) boxes. I could install munin-node from source via puppet and probably make enough edits that all the files end up in reasonable locations

ASan port for Myriad RTEMS
Hi Kostya. Thanks for the quick feedback. I will work on addressing your comments. In regard to initialization checks, I can eliminate most of them by initializing the shadow memory very early, but I still need to do something in two places, __asan_handle_no_return and GetFakeStackFast. Would it be ok to have guards for those two places only? Walter On Fri, May 4, 2018 at 6:10 PM Kostya

On RAM... You chose the 32-byte shadow granularity to reduce the RAM overhead, but I am afraid this will actually increase it due to extra alignment requirements, especially if an average allocation on your typical application is small. The pointers are 32-bit, right? Given how RAM-constrained your environment is, maybe you should consider something more like HWASAN instead of ASAN.

ASan port for Myriad RTEMS
Hi Walter, I've done a first quick scan. Overall looks reasonable, but I'd like to try reducing the number of newly introduced platform-specific ifs. Vitaly, please also take a look (once my initial comments are addressed). One outstanding issue is your problem with initialization vs checking, which requires you to insert so many ifs. Is there any chance you can avoid this? If you
