Dovecot crashing when attempting to search in virtual folder with fts_squat activated
Hi everyone,
I am running into a problem when trying to use fts_squat in a virtual
folder. Without fts_squat plugin the search (from, subject...) works in
all folders. With activated fts the search on the inbox folders works
expectedly well but any attempt to search anything in any virtual folder
leads to the following error. Similarly when attempting "doveadm fts
lookup". I also

fts_squat was deprecated in 2.1. There's a high likelihood it is buggy in a variety of ways in any recent Dovecot release.

Post-login scripting with virtual users
I am running Dovecot 2.0.13 on Fedora 15. I have migrated from a
bincimap installation using checklocalpwd. All email is in folders
owned by a unprivileged user, popuser. The email users are entirely
virtual and have no relationship to actual linux users.
My userdb calls return the UID and GID of popuser and all goes well
retrieving the mail via POP3 and IMAP.

We are testing with 1.2.9 and have found that with
mail_full_filesystem_access set to 'yes', we cannot force indexes for
folders under ~/mail to be stored in /var/dovecot/indexes/%u.
/var/dovecot/indexes/%u/.imap/INBOX/dovecot.index* is created just fine,
but everything else ends up in ~mail/.imap.
If I change mail_full_filesystem_access to 'no', then all indexes

Trying to do antispam with Sieve
Hi,
Using https://wiki.dovecot.org/HowTo/AntispamWithSieve I'm trying to
execute scripts when moving to/from Spam folder, however nothing's
happening. The actions are:
1. Move to Spam: redirect :copy "spamcop_spam at domain.local";
2. Move from Spam: redirect :copy "spamcop_ham at domain.local";

persists. Can anyone help me figure out if this is due to a

Namespaces for Apple Client
Hi,
i have a plesk server with postfix an dovecot.
Webmail is roundcube.
Version of Dovecot is 2.3.0.1
I want apple clients to use the default special folders.
My config for namespaces worked till last week.
Now I cant get it to work again.
Hope someone can help me.

Hi Michael,
thanks for getting back to me. I understand the alternatives to squat
are solr and lucene and have to be explicitly included into dovecot at
compilation. Unfortunately I am not in a position to manually compile
dovecot.
What other option do I have to use full text search in dovecot without
manually compilating my package?

Benchmarking
I wasted too much time today doing this, but they do show a few
interesting things:
1) mmap_disable=yes is faster than mmap_disable=no. I didn't expect
this. I'm not yet sure why this is, but possibly because then it updates
the mail index by reading the changes from dovecot.index.log, instead of
reopening and re-mmaping dovecot.index. At least that's the biggest
difference between

Found another bad bug in rc19 changes. Wonder why my imaptest catched
the bug only in CVS HEAD but not in branch_1_0 even though both had it.
Anyway, now the imaptest runs nicely for both, and I'm again optimistic
that the bug count is low enough for v1.0 to be released soon :)

How to unset namespace configuration from dovecot.conf in conf.d/99-cutom.conf?
Dear all,
my /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf [0] that is shipped with the Linux
distro (Ubuntu 18.04, dovecot 2.3.10) has a namespace section:

How to dsync mdbox compressed to maildir uncompressed
Hello,
we are using doveadm sync to export mdbox to maildir format, so we can use an external tool to convert into an pst file.
Since we have enabled zlib compression doveadm sync always exports the maildir gzip compressed.
Are there any ways to prevent the doveadm sync to export the maildir compressed ?

Shared namespace, separator, username and dots.

I run a legacy mailserver that i had replaced courier-imap for dovecot
1.2. Everything is fine except for shared namespace. Maildir structure
has been created using dot '.' as folder separator. It happens that all
our users are created as name.surname as default. So when I want to
