Shared Mailbox Questions
Hi All,
I've pored over the wiki, read through the archive, and have what I believe should be a working set-up, but I can't seem to get my shared namespace to work correctly. Any guidance would be much appreciated.
I started off using a flat file for acl_shared_dict and ran into the same problem recently reported with the shared-database file getting chown'd to the first user to

Configuring Shared Mailbox Dictionaries
Hello, list!
I am in the midst of configuring a new Dovecot IMAP server, and I'm
preparing to setup shard mailboxes as part of the ocnfiguration. In
order to get these setup the way I want, I've figured out that I'm going
to have to setup an acl_shared_dict. This is where things start to get
confusing for me, as I have had difficulty finding thorough explanations

Hi Aki,
I'm not sure if this bug was worked on?? Sadly I ran into it too
recently, on version 2.3.4.1.

Replication to wrong mailbox
It happened now twice that replication created folders and mails in the
wrong mailbox :(
Here's the architecture we use:
- 2 Dovecot (2.2.32) backends in two different datacenters replicating
via a VPN connection
- Dovecot directors in both datacenters talks to both backends with
vhost_count of 100 vs 1 for local vs remote backend
- backends use proxy dict via a unix domain socket and socat

list command and shared folders
Hello,
I try to setup shared folders with real unix users:
user "test2": setacl t2_t4 test4 lrswi
user "test3": setacl t3_t4 test4 lrswi
Now I see entries in ~test2/Maildir/.t2_t4/dovecot-acl,
~test3/Maildir/.t3_t4/dovecot-acl and /var/lib/dovecot/acl_dict.db (see below)
But "test4" don't see the shared folders in the list command :-(

Shared Mailboxes in a multi domain environment
Hi,
I would like to enable mailbox sharing for my users. I'm using dovecot
2.1.9 with vpopmail authentication. For security reason shared mailboxes
should be available only for users of the same domain.
Dovecot's wiki suggest to enable acl like this:
plugin {
# assumes mailboxes are in /var/mail/%d/%n:
acl_shared_dict = file:/var/mail/%d/shared-mailboxes.db
}
but in vpopmail,

problem with ~/mail/ namespace
We just changed from UW imap last night and one of our bigger problems
right now is that the ~/mail/ compatibility namespace doesn't seem to

Shared mailboxes errors
Hello list,
I'm implementing shared mailboxes on live system and after enabling acl plugin I got errors in my log:
Jun 17 15:50:33 dict: Error: sql dict iterate: Invalid/unmapped path: shared/shared-boxes/anyone/
I have no clue why this happening, users don't know about new functionality they just use imap as before. Also dict database begin to fill up by records like:

dovecot 2.0 rc4, expire, sqlite
Hello,
I will use expire like described within wiki2.dovecot.org/Plugins/Expire
with sqlite for a folder AutoCleanSpam.
If I copy a message (with TB) into that folder, I get an error if there
exists no entry for that user and that folder within the database:

Crash when using dict quotas with sqlite database
Hello,
After I configured a SQLite backed dict quota backend, the dict process
crashes every time a quota operation is happening.

lazy-expunge acl bug?
Hi,
we've defined a public namespace "shared" and use the acl and lazy-expunge
plugins among others. The problem is, that a mailbox is deleted by the
DELETE-command without the x-flag to be set (# 1.2.9):
a myrights shared/aclDeleteTest
* MYRIGHTS "shared/aclDeleteTest" lrsed
a OK Myrights completed.
b delete shared/aclDeleteTest
b OK Delete completed.

Crash when using dict quotas with sqlite database
Hello Aki,
Arch Linux doesn't have install-able debug symbols for Dovecot. That's
why I just compiled the package for myself with enabled debug symbols
(by editing the makepkg.conf).
I've attached the output from gdb's bt full.

unfortunately, this patch is already in my source files, as patch

Hi,
I'm using Dovecot 2.2.33.2 on a RHEL 7, new installation. When I use

format of file dict
For shared (between users) mailboxes, I am using a file dict.
plugin {
acl_shared_dict = file:/etc/dovecot/acl_shared_dict/shared.db
}
What is the format of this file? I would like to manage it directly
rather than have SETACL update it. I see lines which describe a
sharing entry (the format of those looks obvious) but also lines
with just a '1'.
Do I just need to separate entries
