BUG Dovecot 1.0.15 and Apples Mail.app
Is there anyone using Apple?s Mail.app to collect the mails via IMAP or IMAPS ?
I found a funny bug in Debian Lennys Dovecot Version. (still v. 1.0.15)
When I get my Mails via IMAP or IMAPS and define a Rule in Mail.app to move the eMail to s specific folder I will find the mail 2 times in the folder.
After a minute or so the double Mail disappears.
I have tried it with other programs like

delayed write files errors
Hello you all,
we had similiar problem with Thudnerbird and Firefox running from
redirected folders. We did not find a fix for it. We just did not
redirect the profile folder anymore.

calculate quantiles of a custom function
Hi,
I guess that my problem has an obvious answer, but I have not been able to
find it.
Suppose I create a custom function, consisting of two beta-distributions:
myfunction <- function(x) {
dbeta(x,2,6) + dbeta(x,6,2)
}
How can I calculate the quantiles of myfunction?
I have not seen any continous function treated in the docs, and applying the
"quantile function" gives me an

str() with attr(*, "names") is extremely slow for long vectors
Hi,
I noticed some time ago that, for instance, named vectors that are
really makes str() really slow when displaying the names attribute. I
don't know exactly when this started, but it wasn't the case say 1-2
years ago. Example (on a WinXP 1.8GHz):

Where does a newbie get started?
I heard this project mentioned on the MythTV mailing list this
weekend. I'm interested in finding more out about the way * works, but
I can't seem to find something that talks about the benefits of having
such a program in a home with a single line. What type of hardware
would be required and any additional wiring that may be required.

OpenSSH and CBC
Hello,
I saw that OpenSSH release 6.7 removed all CBC ciphers by default. Is
CBC therefore considered as broken and unsecure (in general or SSH
implementation)?
I also read a lot of references (see below) but still not clear to me
what's the actual "security status" of CBC and why it has been removed
in general.

Get Mic-In for Speex
Hi,
anyone knows how i can get the input from a mircophone as a byte-array
stream in VC++ ?? So that i can encode it with speex an send it away.
The second thing is, to decode the speex frame and play it on the
speakers.
It would be helpfull if you can give me a link to a site which
explains this topic an include some littel code sampels. Thanks.

Dovecot deliver logging problem and procmail
Hello!
Currently I'm trying to integrate dovecot's deliver program into procmail.
So basically I'd write a patch for procmail to deliver not directly into
the mbox file but delivering with the dovecot deliver program.
Do you think this is a good concept?
For testing I use the commands discussed below. Currently I'm having a
problem that deliver doesn't recognize the

Accountsservice in CentOS 7.3
Is there any known problem with accountsservice-0.6.35-12 with NFS users?
After logging in via lightdm they are not "remembered" and there is no
entry created to /var/lib/AccountsService/users
Downgrading to accountsservice-0.6.35-9 resolved that issue

Some thoughts about EL 6
Many people seem to wait for the announcement of CentOS 6.0, so I want
to share some test results I did with SL 6.0..
The actual 6.0 kernel can NOT allocate tape buffers when the server is
heavily loaded at least on some LSILogic hardware.
There is a big problem of slab buffer increase that can cause
reboot/freeze of the server under load. Reported by many and verified by
me :-(
