Dovecot SQL user_query
Hello folkz,
Is it possible to setup in dovecot-sql.conf file to run user_query
twice if its first run didn't yield any values.
And likewise don't proceed with the second run if the first user_query
execution produced the result.
I have to query two tables which specify there email messages shall be
delivered via Dovecot deliver LDA
depending on the incoming email addresses.

Question about auth-master, deliver, and SQL maps
I have been running Postfix/Dovecot with a Postgresql backend for
several months, and everything has been running great.
Now I want to add server side filtering, so I'm attempting to configure
deliver.
The SQL maps for Postfix are all keyed upon the recipient email address.
The SQL map (user_query) for Dovecot is keyed upon the IMAP login name,
which is potentially unrelated to the email

Replication -- multiple users, three or more servers?
I'm running Dovecot 2.2.1 on an Ubuntu 12.04.2 server, with half a dozen
accounts for various family members. I want to set up replication
involving at least three Ubuntu servers, with different users replicated
on different sets of servers.
For example, I might have mail for "user1" replicated on "server1",
"server2", and "server3"...

Can Wiki entry on dovecot LDA/deliver be clarified?
Hi guys,
I am having some problems relating to this "Fixing lda user_query
error introduces new fault in mail delivery" and I'd like to know if
the above wiki comment holds even if a user_query is configured to
return the correct mail folder.
According to this LDA delivers only to the mail_location setting. Does
that mean that it will stick to the value in dovecot.conf or will the

%d ignored from auth-passwdfile.conf.ext configuration file
I try to configure dovecot with virtual users. I put my users file in
folder /etc/dovecot/my_domain_name/users.
My auth-passwdfile.conf.ext file looks like this:
passdb {
driver = passwd-file
args = username_format=%n /etc/dovecot/%d/users
}
When I try to log in, I get this:
dovecot: auth: Error:

Dovecot deliver + sieve + postfix virtual + mysql ?
Hey there guys.
I have successful postfix + mysql + sagator + clamav + spamassassin + dovecot
setup (it was a really crazy month full of tweaking :]) and the only thing i
miss is some per maildir specific filtering. i decided to use sieve.
everything is fine except that dovecot's deliver process doesn't see the
actual .dovecot.sieve file with filtering rules in the root of a maildir.

RFC: Different quota for dovecot and deliver
Hello everybody,
I've been with this question in IRC the last days, but no solution was found.
So I looked into the sources, and came up with the attached (untested, not
even compiled) patch against 1.2.1.
Rationale
-----------
I'd like to bounce on the external side, which is quite easy if the quota is
stored in a SQL database; then eg. postfix can directly query it, and reject

LMTP Setup/Design Help Request
Hi altogether,
I am switching from dbmail 2.2 to dovecot 2.1.7, and I was able to do a successful transition of IMAP. But I
had a very hard time with receiving mail, and in the end -- after loads of reading and debugging -- I broke
down and failed. This is why I am asking you for your kind help.
I only have virtual users and have set
mail_uid = dovemail
mail_gid = dovemail

unexpected delivery location
Hi,
We're running dovecot 2.2.13, virtual users, with postfix. We have an
olddomain and a new domainname. To 'translate' *@olddomain into
*@newdomain, I have configured:
> cat /etc/postfix/canonical
> @olddomain.com @newdomain.com
While this seems to work, lately we have noticed that dovecot
occasionally creates mailboxes for non-existent users, like:

still having difficulties with per-user quotas
Hello,
I am trying to get per-user quotas working. My thanks to all who have
helped so far.
To recap I am running Dovecot 2.1 and Mysql where I've got my virtual
users. All virtual users are under the system user vmail with a UID
and GID of 5000. Looking over the wiki docs I've added a quota table
and got the dict service working, I am not having problems with
permissions or the login

Import USER and PASSWORD Samba3+OpenLadp TO Samba4
I am using AD DC. I already have a domain Samba3 + Openladp, I'm creating
this new domain Samba4, but I want to import all users who have already
registered in my base Openldap. If it was the same demesne I would use the
migration tool, but it's a different domain.

mails delivered to the wrong user when using lmtp_proxy and reject_unverified_recipient
Hi,
looks like we detected a serious bug in dovecot's lmtp proxying where
e-mails are delivered to the wrong user.
The setup is:
*) Dovecot is configured with "lmtp_proxy=yes"
# Support proxying to other LMTP/SMTP servers by performing passdb lookups.
lmtp_proxy = yes
*) Postfix uses "dynamic recipient verification", so Postfix starts
sending a (verify) mail by LMTP to
