Winbind - Why won't you authenticate???
Well, I managed to get Samba 2.2.3 up and running on our Solaris 8 machine. I installed with the winbind option and everything went though just find. I was able to join the NT domain and now I can do a wbinfo -u "and get a domain user list as well as a "wbinfo -g and get a group list. For some reason though, the authentication isn't working. I tried to "wbinfo -a" and

Sharing to domain users?
Couple questions to those who have the winbindd service up and running... I *think* winbindd is working now... I can browse the samba server through windows explorer and open directories. There is a little delay when I first connect... I assume this is winbind passing the authentication request to my NT servers and awaiting a response. The problem now is that I can't seem to write to the

repeated measures help; disagreement with SPSS
Hi, all. I have a simple design I'm comparing to output from SPSS. the design is 1 repeated measure (session) and 1 between measure (cond). my dependent measure is rl. here is the data I'm using (in a data.frame): mig <- data.frame(subj=factor(rep(subj,3)), cond=factor(rep(cond,3)), session=factor(c(rep(1,nsubj),rep(2,nsubj),rep(3,nsubj))),

Attributing values to matrix according to names
Dear R-helpers Apologies for the basic question, but I just got stuck: I would like to write values from a vector into array cells with the same names > count[1:10] 10010 10014 10015 10017 10030 10080 10100 10230 10250 10280 0 0 0 0 0 1 1 0 2 0 >data[1:10,,1] [,1] [,2] [,3] [,4] [,5] 10010 NA NA NA NA NA 10014 NA NA NA

Bug : Autocorrelation in sample drawn from stats::rnorm (hmh)
Hi Hugo, I've been able to replicate your bug, including for other distributions (runif, rexp, rgamma, etc) which shouldn't be surprising since they're probably all drawing from the same pseudo-random number generator. ?Interestingly, it does not seem to depend on the choice of seed, I am not sure why that is the case. I'll point out first of all that the R-devel mailing list is

I didn't realize it is so easy to install and configure SAMBA as a File Server until today 24 Jan 2024 Wed
Subject: I didn't realize it is so easy to install and configure SAMBA as a File Server until today 24 Jan 2024 Wed Good day from Singapore, A few years ago I was focused on installing and configuring SAMBA as an Active Directory Domain Controller (AD DC). Those projects were largely successful. Yesterday 23 Jan 2024 Tue, our client, a law firm in Singapore, has an IT incident. On its IBM

Sudden unexplained slowness on share (caused by duplicate UID?)
Hi, We have 5 Samba domain controllers, and 4 file servers. All are 4.2.10-Debian. Our file servers have been working fine until recently (on the 26th), when suddenly access to the \\users.store.example.com\user share (hostname p-cats) became extremely slow. Access to other shares on other machines is fine, and users is 128G total (smaller than other shares). The machine isn't under

Let's exclude it is the client which causes the problem: Connect directly to the IMAPS server on CLI. openssl s_client -connect <server ip>:993 You hopefully see a greeting message

dht_layout_dir_mismatch
Having an odd problem on a new test environment we are setting up for a partner. And not sure where to look next to figure out the problem or really understand what the dht_layout_dir_mismatch INFO message is telling me. I was turning up a 4 node distributed volume, each brick is its own 19TB ext4 partition on a hardware raid5. Each node has the volume mounted back to itself at /glusterfs via

[LLVMdev] Patch: More data types
I've patched valuetypes.td/h to add data types that my backend needs to support. There seems to be a lot of assumptions made in other spots of the code that limit the number of data types to 32. I need to add a few more types, but once I go over this limit llvm starts acting wonky. I found all the items that are hard coded to 32 and a section that isn't, but I cannot figure out how to

Find the flow data from its accumulation of the panel data
Hi, I have the panel data of income statement of several banks. The date 9803 means 1998-Q1, 9806 means 1998-Q2, etc. I transform the date code to 1 (for 1998Q1), 2 (for 1998Q2), ...., 16 (for 2011Q4) where 1, 2, .... are placed in Col1. Now the income statement of a specific quarter is actually the accumulation from the beginning of the year. For example, the cost data of 1999Q3 is the
