removing IMAP keywords?
Hi there, I found that with an IMAP command like <unique-leader> STORE 1 +FLAGS (testflag) I can set arbitrary flags on mails through the dovecot IMAP daemon. This rules. Now I wonder, however, how I can remove those flags, which become properties of the folder, really. For instance, after the above, SELECT on the containing folder gives: * FLAGS (\Answered \Flagged \Deleted \Seen

My Dsync isn't replicating 'EXPUNGE' IMAP command
Hi! I have two Dovecot-2.2.13 servers with Dsync Replication: server1 and server2. When I execute 'EXPUNGE' on server1 side, the messages with FLAG \Deleted are expunged only on server1. The message is still present in Server2. Could someone give me a hint reason for this ? Thanks in advance! -- Thiago Henrique ======================================================================

failed creating protocol instance to play queued url
I run thunderbird (both 3.x and 5.x) against dovecot 2.x and frequently see delays "loading message". I admit to having a very large mailbox and running multiple imap clients. I've turned on thunderbird debugging, and at least one pattern I see in the log during the delays (maybe a minute long) is the failed protocol message above. These are no the only delays, but are the ones

[BUG] Thread command
Hi, while implementing thread support in our mail application I found a bug which kills IMAP(alpha5, SUSE 10) process... These are the commands: x OK Logged in. x select INBOX * FLAGS (\Answered \Flagged \Deleted \Seen \Draft NonJunk Junk $Forwarded Spam) * OK [PERMANENTFLAGS (\Answered \Flagged \Deleted \Seen \Draft NonJunk Junk $Forwarded Spam \*)] Flags permitted. * 2280 EXISTS * 1 RECENT *

Clients can't retrieve new emails
In a formerly working environment suddenly clients aren't notified of new emails and can't retrieve new emails. Server is Ubuntu 11.04 dovecot 1.2.15. Clients which fail are a Pre2 webOS 2.1 and TouchPad webOS 3.0 (those are OS versions, I don't know which particular flavor/version the IMAP clients are); there is also a Thunderbird 3.1.11 client on the same system as the server which

LIST-STATUS issue
Looked at the hg commits since 2.1.1, but didn't see anything that was exactly on-point to this... UNSEEN counts seem to be broken when done in a LIST-STATUS call. I see this, for example: >> Timestamp: Thu, 01 Mar 2012 10:55:47 -0700 [...] C: 3 LIST "" (INBOX IN.dovecot) RETURN (STATUS (UNSEEN)) S: * LIST () "." "IN.dovecot" S: * STATUS

Rebuild UIDs for mdbox
Hello all, I think I'm hitting an issue with overly large UIDs in one of my mailboxes. I initially thought it was a problem with claws-mail hitting an infinite loop. Claws-mail /seems/ to work fine, until it gets to this one mailbox, wherein the following is logged: [20:23:04] IMAP> 86 SELECT LocalCron [20:23:04] IMAP< * OK [CLOSED] Previous mailbox closed. [20:23:04] IMAP< * FLAGS

quota not updated
Hi, we're using quota with the maildir backend. When new mail arrives, the quota gets updated. But when mail is expunged, quota stays the same (see imap dialog below). We're using the latest version from hg ( 1.2.13 ). Any ideas? ###quota part from dovecot -n plugin: quota: maildir:User quota quota_rule: *:storage=2000M quota_warning: storage=95%% /usr/local/bin/quota-warning.sh

Assertion failure with IMAP NOTIFY
Hi, For a few weeks I've been running a custom notification script[1] that uses IMAP NOTIFY. The script uses a single connection, sets up a NOTIFY watch on a couple of mailboxes + automatic FETCH for the selected mailbox. If a status update arrives for a different mailbox, it selects that box and fetches the mail. Today I got the following error in the log: > Aug 5 14:56:12 karif

Question about IMAP IDLE (and Palm Pre)
Hello, i try to understand, how it works (IDLE). Try to get it successfully work with my new Palm Pre ;-) which looks like to have a lot issues wir imap... so i'll blame not dovecot for the issues. Sent a mail, from googlemail. processed by dovecot ad 12:11. what me now confusing, is, that there in the out-log is nothing visible, I expected, to see there was sent an notification, there was

update to cifs-mount-3.2.0-24.1.122 from .121 broke mount.cifs
Jerry, Jeremy, et. al. Last night's upgrade from cifs-mount-3.2.0-24.1.121 to cifs-mount-3.2.0-24.1.122 on a openSuSE 10.3 x86_64 machine broke mount -t cifs. Permanent flags not announced and public mailbox with per-user index
Hi, I've a set of public mailboxes that all users can access. The index is stored per user, so each user can mark the message as read for themselves. This is with dovecot 1.2.10. However, when selecting the mailbox, system flags are not announced as permanent but only as session flags: 3619 SELECT "public.Admin" * FLAGS (\Answered \Flagged \Deleted \Seen \Draft) * OK

Received Date vs Date Header
I am trying to figure out why my mail clients are not correctly showing me the received date versus the date header date. I am using Dovecot 1.1B9. Here is a copy of the rawlog from Dovecot when I started up the client. Is Dovecot supposed to be sending the received date and the date header during this conversation? * OK [RAWLOG TIMESTAMP] 2007-11-30 16:48:31 * NAMESPACE ((""

most of INBOX missing?
Greetings. I'm having an issue with dovecot that I'm hoping that someone can help me with. Most of the mail in my INBOX has mysteriously disappeared and I'd like to get it back. It's all in the ~/Maildir/cur directory and dovecot reports that 1048 messages exist when given the SELECT imap command. But Thunderbird and the SEARCH imap command only list 25 messages:
