My config includes,

Call history problems from B2BUA
Hello, all. Alas, another convoluted question. All the simple things
are, well, simple so I suppose we only need to trouble the list with
squirrely problems!
We've noticed a call history problem when using Asterisk where the call
history on the Snom phones (with which we are very pleased) reflects the
number of the PBX extension used by the B2BUA to dial the end point. I
assume the same

Moving home directories to another location leads to NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED listing
OK. That helped to understand how samba manages users. I looked at the details of my users. Both, user1 and user2, are defined exactly the same way. User1's home directory is set to \\debianhomeserver\user1 and user2's home directory is set to \\debianhomeserver\user2. Accessing user1's home directory which is still in /home/user1 works fine, user2's home directory, which was moved

shared folders not working with . separator
Thanks, this helped.
I added namespace virtual and removed the virtual references from inbox
namespace and added list = yes so now I can see shared folder in the client.
There's still nothing in there though.
I followed Christian's advice, debug shows this very strange behaviour.
doveadm acl debug -u user1 at domain1.com.au shared.user2 at domain2.com.au

Plugin mail-filter tangles
System installed : Dovecot 2.2.12 as IMAP server and Postfix as MTA.
Dovecot and Postfix connected via LMTP
+ Dovecot mail plugin 'mail-filter' to encrypt/decrypt emails on the fly
with public/private users' RSA keys.
Case study :
You have 3 (virtuals) users belonging to 3 different domains, all
managed by your Dovecot server.
One of these users is connected to Dovecot with MUA

failed to call wbcSidToUid
I do not know if there is a uidNumber in Active Directory, I am not an
administrator of Microsoft AD.
So you claimed that I need add an extra parameters uidNumber and gidNumber
to the MS Active Directory user, and add an extra value to each of them?
I think that It will be impossible and too much extra work.
I need similiar funcionality than it was in the previous version.
So mabye I shoud change

shared folder: messages become invisible
Hello,
after dealing with shared folder within version 2.0 rc* I started using
it with a group of users.
user1 shares a folder to user2.
user2 has access to messages of this shared folder.
After a "random" time (minutes up to several days) user2 doesn't see
those messages anymore.
user1 (the owner) hasn't changed anything inside this folder. All
messages are still in place

Subscriptions - delivering to different folders
Hi,
I am using Postfix and Dovecot. I have set up backup_mailbox at domain.tld,
which gets mail copies from user1 at domain.tld user2 at domain.tld
user3 at domain.tld, the copy option is set in postfix recipient_bcc_maps =
path_to_file_recipient_bcc. In recipient_bcc file I have:
user1 at domain.tld backup_mailbox at domain.tld
user2 at domain.tld backup_mailbox at domain.tld

acl, shared folders
Hi list,

After spending quite some time to figure out how users can share folders I now hope someone of you could help me out. I am quite sure its just a stupid mistake/misunderstanding?... I am using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS with the shipped dovecot 2.0.19
When I login via telnet as user1 I get the following:
1 create folder1
1 OK Create completed.
2 setacl folder1 user2 rli
2 OK Setacl complete.

voicemail.conf locking problem
I'm wondering if anyone is having problems when
multiple users concurrently change their voicemail
passwords.
Consider the following scenario (based on
vm_change_password() in app_voicemail.c):
- user1 wishes to change his password so
voicemail.conf is opened and read into a buffer
- user1 changes his password
- user2 wishes to change his password so
voicemail.conf is opened and read into a

remove mails from shared folders
Hallo dovecot
This is my first post on this list.
I'm new to IMAP servers and i read lots of howtos.
If I use the wrong term for some features please tell me the right term.
I have installed dovecot under ubuntu 7.10 and it works fine.

I would like to use shared folders the way that we have an email pool

Hello,
I'm running dovecot 2.1.9 and I'm trying to configure shared folders.
So, as described at http://wiki2.dovecot.org/SharedMailboxes/Shared I
have configured a namespace like this:
namespace {
type = shared
separator = /
prefix = shared/%%u/
location = maildir:%%h/Maildir:INDEX=~/Maildir/shared/%%u
subscriptions = no
list = yes
}

bug in lastlog logging?
Folks;
I couldn't find anything on my archive of the mailing list on this,
and it may just be my mis-understanding, but:
When I "ssh machine1 -l user1" as user2 on machine2, if user2 has the
same uid on machine1, then user2's name ends up in lastlog, instead of
user1's.
This is a bit disconcerting when user2 is root, and root isn't allowed
to remotely log in on

Managing permissions for web folders
We have a web folder /var/www/somesite that's a root for one of the sites.
Apache serves files out of here.
It is an svn checkout, so that updates could be done by using svn up.
Everything has been going great when I use the root user to update, but now
I need to give access to other people to make deployments, and it doesn't
seem to be easy to do using regular users.
I have created a

net file close
Howdy,
Please forgive me if this is a stupid question, but I have searched the lists and can not find an answer for something that should be pretty simple.
I am loooking to perform a net file close on a samba shared file that is open from a windows machine. I can not get it to work in on my mac, or from a bsd based clustered file system. The closest I can get to it is performing an smbstatus

Dovecot allows creation of folders outside of a user's directory
Hi,
in our dovecot 2.0 setup with shared folders, users can make dovecot
create directories outside their mail directory. Which is a bit scary imho.
The following command:
. create inbox.shared.abc123
or even
. create "inbox.shared.strange &ANY- characters"
-- even though it will fail with a "permission denied" error -- will
create a directory like

transfering call to dialplan without disconnecting.
Hi All,
I am trying to build a small setup using asterisk where user1 calls the
user2 and after a conversation of few minutes user1 puts the call on
automation i.e. after few minutes user1 should be able to kind of transfer
the call to dialplan where the call proceed as per user2's DTMF input and
dialplan structure (without disconnecting the call).
How can this be achieved?
Thanks
