AUTH PLAIN error with Thunderbird and Dovecot 1.2
Hi, a few days ago I started to get some complaints about authentication delays from Thunderbird POP3 users. After some debugging it turned out that the problem was introduced somewhere between 1.2rc3 and 1.2rc7 (1.2.0 is still affected). A session with Thunderbird 2.0.0.22 against 1.2rc3 looks like this: <<< +OK Dovecot ready. >>> CAPA <<< +OK <<< CAPA

IPv6-enabled dovecot-1.1rc* does not accept IPv4-connections
Hi, I'm having a really really strange problem. After upgrading from 1.1.beta13 to 1.1.rc2 (happened with rc1 as well IIRC) I can't connect to the services using IPv4 anymore. dovecot happily binds to the IPv6 wildcard socket which should accept IPv4 connections as well. root at vs02:~# netstat -lnp --tcp | grep dovecot tcp6 0 0 :::993 :::*

Crash of 1.0rc7
Hi, I pasted the logs in #dovecot already, but maybe someone here has a little bit more insight. I'm running dovecot cvs branch_1_0 from Sep. 16th. Dovecot is doing LDAP userdb/passdb and I'm using deliver for local deliveries. Today my users complained about not being able to login anymore. I opened ssh to that box and found the following messages Sep 20 15:58:03 vs02 dovecot:

listen = ipv4, ipv6
Hi, We want dovecot to listen on a specific ip4 & ipv6 addresses like so: listen = 145.58.1.1, [2a02:458:1::1] But on startup it tells me: Fatal: service(managesieve-login) Can't resolve address [2a02:458:1::1]: Name or service not known Wether it is in the dns or not. If I however change the listen directive to: listen = f.qd.nl where f.qd.nl resolves to an ip4 and ipv6 address

asterisk 1.2.4 doesn't detect the PSTN hang up
Hy, I'm writing from Spain. I have the 1.2.4 asterisk version and 1.2.3 zaptel version. I've heart that this asterisk's version detects correctly de hang up of PSTN, but in my case this thing doesn't happen. Moreover, my asterisk sends the next messages in the CLI: Feb 21 15:03:13 WARNING[10363]: chan_zap.c:10876 setup_zap: Ignoring signalling Feb 21 15:03:13 WARNING[10363]:

Dovecot 2.0beta3: Auth master process is now running as default_internal_user
Hi, with 'changeset 10910' the Auth master process is running as 'default_internal_user' now (dovecot). This requires permissions tuning for 'passwd-files' at least, while other plugins would run in a different user context, 'vmail' in my setup. I see that this may be safer, just wondering how to streamline the config: [20:27] root spectre:/var/vmail/conf.d# l

Can't connect to shares w/2.0beta3 on OSF1
I was running 1.9.18p10 on a test DEC Unix 4.0d box here and I decided to give 2.0beta3 a try. For some reason, I cannot connect to any of the server's shares or even get a list of it's services (via Start->Run->\\server) from Win95 clients. It asks for a password and no matter what I put in there I get "The password is not correct. Try again." I configured Beta3 a la:

tinc generating invalid packet checksums?
We have a Zenoss server in our main office monitoring (among many other things) an Apache server in a remote network, with a Tinc link between the two networks. The monitoring simply involves making an HTTP request to a URL once every 5 minutes and confirming that a response page comes back. Most of the requests to this particular web server succeed (and similar requests to other web servers
