odd dovecot / spampal interaction
[Apologies if you've seen this message twice. I originally sent it from
another e-mail account but it never seemed to appear on the list for me.]
Apologies if this has been mentioned before. I've searched quite a few of
the archives, but haven't found an answer.
I've just installed dovecot 1.1.6 on my qnap server, and have found an odd
interaction with spampal that I've not

Yes, I have tried these exact same settings, with the exception that we DO have a certificate so we don?t have to confirm certificate.

1.1.6: PAM passdb/userdb (mis)configuration
I'm sure I'm missing something obvious :-(
Dovecot version 1.1.6, pam authentication via ldap (openldap). basicly,
we use:
passdb pam
userdb passwd
which work fine, except for Outlook/OL Express users that are asked for
their password whenever they "send/receive"... We've had also "passdb shadow"
that somehow "fixed" this but allowed also users with

Yes, dovecot handles the authentication, but the connection is
handled by postfix. We already know the authentication work since
you can receive mail, so the problem is either postfix or the client.
At any rate, this isn't a dovecot problem.

Outlook Express Mailstore on Samba share
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Hi list,
last Thursday I upgraded a samba installation from 2.2.12 to 3.0.14a.
Everything went fine with the debian packages. But...
All roaming profiles are registry hacked to place the OE mailstore onto
the home drive and this worked fine for the last two years. Now after
the upgrade all of my users complain about corrupt dbx files. Can anyone

Panic in version 1.1.6
Hello,
We have seen a few of these panics in 1.1.6. It seems to happen when pine
is being used and a POP3 check occurs at the same time (but not always),
but I'm not positive this is always the case:

Dovecot.1.1.6 Authentication problems using PAM+Kerberos
Hello,
This is my first post and it is to consult about an issue I am having.
Here is the error I get in my logs:
dovecot-auth: pam_krb5[22949]: error resolving user name 'mike' to uid/gid
pair
dovecot-auth: pam_krb5[22949]: error getting information about 'mike'
If I use kinit to authenticate it works with no problems. Any ideas on the
issue above..?
Thanks..!

Correct me if I?m wrong, but I thought Dovecot handled client authentication, and once authenticated handed off to postfix?

Problems with Speex Resamplers
How much latency are we talking about? It seems that this issue cannot be
easily pinpointed, but if it turns out to be related to the Speex Resampler
let me know and I will put it on my task list.

Services not starting in 2.1 (or 2.2)
I'm trying to install Dovecot onto my QNAP NAS. I apologise for this! It
means I'm not working in a normal environment, and don't (necessarily)
have the normal range of tools available (or the most up to date version
of those tools).
It seems that 2.0.21 works (at least, as far as I've tested), but 2.1.17
and 2.2.4 won't start up their child services.
I've got the

setting up CYBERPOWER CP1500PFCLCD
Hi,
Another beginner question. I spend hours trying to find the solution for
how to configure winnut properly but I' struggling to make it work. I want
my QNAP NAS TS-231 to work as a master and send signal to the PC to shut it
down during power outage. I configured QNAP properly (like this:
http://geekbeat.tv/qnap-adding-external-devices-qnap), but I don't know
what to do next.
