Permission denied after dist-upgrade
Hello,
after I have done a dist-upgrade to Squeeze, I got some nasty problem with my dovecot.
When I try to establish a connection via IMAP, it doesn't react and writes the following into my logfile:

Replication warnings
Hi list,
I get these warnings quite frequently.
Warning: Failed to do incremental sync for mailbox INBOX, retry with a
full sync
Is this something to worry about? Otherwise the replication works
perfectly.
Cheers Jan

LDA vs. LMTP
Hi there,
I'm using Dovecot together with Postfix; as I understand it, there are two ways to transfer the mail from Postfix to Dovecot.
1.) by using LDA with mailbox_command = /usr/libexec/dovecot/dovecot-lda -f "$SENDER" -a "$RECIPIENT"
2.) by using LMTP with mailbox_transport = lmtp:unix:private/dovecot-lmtp
(currently using number 1)
I'm interessted in the

sieve replication and .dovecot.lda-dupes
Hello list,
I have a replicated dovecot with two servers.
People seem to get vacation responses more often then it is specified in
"days: XX", depending on which dovecot instance they receive the
incoming mail. Is ".dovecot.lda-dupes" replicated?
The other problem is that the vacation response is coming from the wrong
address depending on which field the recipient was

Debian package init scripts
Dearest list,
I am using dovecot with heartbeat-2 and I noticed that the init scripts
in the Debian packages from http://xi.rename-it.nl/debian/ do not
conform to the LSB standard:
http://refspecs.freestandards.org/LSB_3.1.1/LSB-Core-generic/LSB-Core-generic/iniscrptact.html
E.g. the return code for "program is not running" is not 3.
Is there is special reason for this?
Cheers Jan

child 23925 killed with signal 6
Dearest list,
just now I migrated a pine user to dovecot. Nothing special so far, but
then I saw this in my syslog and the user reported, that he got this
error message:
MAIL FOLDER "INBOX" CLOSED DUE TO ACCESS ERROR
Obviously this problem is related to his local filter rules:
If commented out everything works like a charm. The corresponding
filter rule looks for a

Change Rscript and `/usr/lib/R/bin/R` relation
Dear all,
I am trying to use multiple version of R unpacked from CRAN deb files.
It does work successfully, except for some packages installation, whether
Rscript has been used. I have configured alternatives and switch R
environments without any problem and can install most of the packages.

Automatic Debian packages for Dovecot v2.2.
Hi,
For our testing enthusiasts I've created new automatic Debian
repositories for Dovecot v2.2. Repositories are available for Debian
oldstable, stable and testing, on both i386 and am64. Read the following
wiki item for more information:
http://wiki2.dovecot.org/PrebuiltBinaries#Automatically_Built_Packages
The repository for Dovecot v1.2 has been defunct for a few months now
and is

WINE cannot create a window
Hi all,
I am using WINE that I compiled in a 32bit chroot environment in 64bit
Archlinux. Following the guide located at:
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Install_bundled_32-bit_system_in_Arch64
I created the chroot environment, installed 32bit versions of the WINE
dependencies, and accessed WINE in the 32bit chroot from the 64bit
environment with schroot. Everything works well except when I

2.2.x autobuilds: Debian Stable now Wheezy, which pool for 2.2.x?
List, good evening, just installed a new Debian Stable (Wheezy). The
Debian Stable repositories now include Dovecot 2.1.7 as standard. I
haven't installed that because I wanted to try 2.2.x on this new clean
install but unsure which 'pool' to use in the xi.rename-it.nl
repository of autobuilds.

Yum updates packages for other arch too
Hi,
I have the x86_64 arch on my server so therfore i expect that yum
updates only x86_64 packages.
With the last *yum update* i?ve noticed a strange behaviour while
retrieving the needed packeges. As you you see, yum wants install
packages for different architectures:
glibc x86_64 2.3.4-2.25 base 4.9 M
glibc i686 2.3.4-2.25 base 5.1 M

Problem loading Matrix package in Ubuntu R 2.8.0
Dear List:
I'm having the same problem that was reported recently. The
latest version of R cannot load the Matrix package, even though it is
installed and readable. I've read the archive files for this list and
tried the suggested solutions (e.g., removing/uninstalling the Matrix
package and reinstalling it). Nothing has worked so far.
Does anybody have advice of what I could try next?

R 2.11.0 for Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx on CRAN
Dear Ubunutu R users,
Vincent Goulet and myself would like to announce the availability of R
2.11.0 for Ubuntu's latest release, Lucid Lynx. The packages should be
on or arriving soon to your favorite mirror. R 2.11.0 packages also
exist on CRAN for all Ubuntu releases going back to hardy.
As Johannes Ranke pointed out for the Debian release, R packages
installed under R < 2.10.0
