Can only see some folders of inbox
I've had a working system for ages now with Postfix/Dovecot/Squirrelmail. This evening the right hand pane of Squirrel Mail failed to complete with the Inbox selected but would show some of the other folders. I can also filter and access mail from the 'Invisible' inbox. Other mailboxes on the same server are fine. I've copied my version number below and the output of

outlook 2007 mailbox sort order
What are people doing to affect the sort order of mailboxes in outlook? Apple Mail and MS Outlook similarly suck in that they do not sort '~' correctly -- mailboxes starting with '~' are first instead of last. At least I think this is the fault of the client, since Mulberry sorts correctly. At least with Apple Mail I can drag and drop mailboxes into any display order I like, so

Users w/o acl access appear to be subscribed to public folders (1.1b8)
I noticed this today, I had a user outside of our department test out dovecot. They were using squirrelmail and I noticed that dovecot thinks this user is subscribed to ALL public folders even though a dovecot ACL prevents all access. I'm pretty sure access is still denied. I was able to reproduce this with a guest account I added: l lsub "" "#shared/decs/%" * LSUB

doveadm doesn't subscribe to public folders
Hi, I'd like to subscribe folder with doveadm: doveadm mailbox subscribe -u rago public.Conferences This command doesn't work, while it works with an ordinary folder. However it's possible to subscribe to the folder with an imap connection: 1 login rago "mypasswd" 1 OK [CAPABILITY IMAP4rev1 LITERAL+ SASL-IR LOGIN-REFERRALS ID ENABLE IDLE SORTSORT=DISPLAY

Dovecot very slow on a mailbox with > 700 IMAP Folders
Hello, I am using Dovecot 1.2.9 on a 32bit on Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS. We got one user who uses folders in an "exessive" way. He has got 704 subscribed folders. That means about nearly 3000 folders on the filesystem. Since ~ a week the user couldn't work because of timeouts when connecting to Dovecot (IMAP). Thunderbird doesn't show any folders - timeout - the webmail System

Problem in LSUB?
Hi guys, I'm not 100% sure about the dovecot version in the server because I don't have access to it, just an account, but I think it's 1.1-rc4 I'm an email client developer and I have a doubt about the behaviour of LSUB that I think it's buggy. See this chat with the server 40 LIST "" INBOX * LIST (\HasChildren) "." "INBOX" 40 OK List

Problem with LSUB and public namespace
Hi, I'd like to know if the following is normal. I've a setup with 2 namespace (private/public) where each user can use subscriptions. This problem is triggered by claws-mail, which uses LSUB to get subscribed mailboxes: * OK [CAPABILITY IMAP4rev1 LITERAL+ SASL-IR LOGIN-REFERRALS ID ENABLE AUTH=PLAIN] Dovecot ready. . login user password . namespace * NAMESPACE (("INBOX."

Received Date vs Date Header
I am trying to figure out why my mail clients are not correctly showing me the received date versus the date header date. I am using Dovecot 1.1B9. Here is a copy of the rawlog from Dovecot when I started up the client. Is Dovecot supposed to be sending the received date and the date header during this conversation? * OK [RAWLOG TIMESTAMP] 2007-11-30 16:48:31 * NAMESPACE ((""

issues with ACL and Public Namespaces
Hi all, after configuring dovecot to serve private and Public Namespaces per domain with ACLs per shared folder, everything worked great: In every shared folder I created a "dovecot-acl"-file with the permissions of every user: > user=user5 at example.com > user=user6 at example.com lrwstiea The subscriptions are handled with "subscriptions=no", so every local

how to store flags \Seen into read-only mailbox?
Hi, I'm trying to use dovecot for storing mailing lists and read-only access for users. The OS is Solaris, authentication for all readers of these lists are from Ldap through PAM, and one local user "listuser" will receive all mail and store them into it's folders (Maildirs). These maildirs are readable (read-only) for all others and they are shared by setting --- mail_location:

dovecot-lda, sieve, maildir
I'm unable to get dovecot-lda with sieve filtering to deliver into maildir folders. The examples on the wiki explicitly say "mbox", so I'm wondering, does the dovecot-lda sieve implementation not support filtering into maildir folders? -frank

LSUB and subscribed folders
I have a strange behavior on a customer's server and I don't understand that: User "bar" has some folders and one shared folder from "foo" if I use the "LIST"-command, which should list AFAIK *all* folders: # telnet localhost 143 a login bar xxxx a OK [CAPABILITY IMAP4rev1 LITERAL+ SASL-IR LOGIN-REFERRALS ID ENABLE IDLE SORT SORT=DISPLAY THREAD=REFERENCES

verbose IMAP logging
Hi, Is there a way to enable telemetry or debug-level logging in Dovecot IMAP, to see the exact IMAP command issued by the client and server? E.g. to confirm if a certain MUA is indeed using IMAP IDLE, or if it's doing LIST or LSUB. The IMAP connection is made over TLS/SSL, so tcpdump won't work. Thanks, Robert

Public Folders for spam/nospam -> don't get it
hi, Dovecot: 2.0.5 I want to use public folders (maildir), for my spam mails to feed spamassassin, but I don't get it working. My Evolution 2.28.3 (nothing else tested) can't subscribe the folders: namespace { hidden = no inbox = yes list = yes location = prefix = INBOX/ separator = / subscriptions = yes type = private } namespace { hidden = no inbox = no list =

locked account accessable via pubkey auth
maybe this is a silly question ;-) But why is it possible to login on a machine with a locked account (passwd -l ) via pubkey-authentication (authorized_keys) ? I use OpenSSH3.01p1on Solaris8 with PAM support so I thought this should not happen. If this is the normal behaviour and built in intentionally what would be the easiest way to lock an account without deleting the users authorized_keys ?

Dovecot 1.0.3: mbox problems for newly created users
Hi, I am having problems with Dovecot 1.0.3 and Thunderbird 2.0.0.6 when using a new user account without any mbox files present. Directory /home/$user/.imap_mail/ does not exist when Thunderbird first tries to login using IMAP to the account. On login this directory is created with a zero byte Trash file and .subscriptions containing string "Trash", so far, so good. Now I create a

"list" ACL privilege ignored for LSUB command?
Hello, I am new to this list, so feel free to correct me if I do something wrong. I don't have a problem, just a question. The RFC which covers IMAP ACLs [1] states that one of the standard rights is: l - lookup (mailbox is visible to LIST/LSUB commands, SUBSCRIBE mailbox) If I have a shared or public namespace and have a mailbox for which I do not have lookup rights, Dovecot
