Dovecot LDA / Deliver question
Problem described: I am trying to get Postfix + Dovecot + MySQL setup to work together in a virtual mail hosting platform. I am running Postfix 2.3.x, and MySQL 5.0.x. I am trying to use Dovecot's LDA for delivery to the users vmail home directory -- usually under /var/vmail/domain.com/j/jdoe for home and /var/vmail/domain.com/j/jdoe/.maildir for mail location, using MAILDIR format.

No logging with chain logdrop and logreject
Hello: I just started using Shorewall this morning and must say that I''m very impressed. Much nicer than what I was using previously. I love the ability to type ''shorewall logdrop ww.xx.yy.zz'' and completely block a particular IP address. However, the log part doesn''t happen. When I look in the logdrop chain, there is no LOG prefix. I''ve looked

Dovecor 1.2 : Command output: Fatal: Unknown argument: flags=DRhu Usage: deliver [-c <config file>] [-a <address>] [-d <username>] [-p <path>] [-f <envelope sender>] [-m <mailbox>] [-n] [-s] [-e] [-k] )
Hi there, I changed postfix to pass email to spamassassin, and then deliver to dovecot LDA. It fails to deliver. The current entry in master.cf now reads: dovecot unix - n n - - pipe flags=DRhu user=vmail:vmail argv=/usr/lib/dovecot/deliver -d ${recipient} smtp inet n - - - - smtpd -o content_filter=spamassassin

application specific passwords
Hi Kirill, Thanks for your reply. Such a simple flat file approach would be perfect, and I don't mind at all to require app specific usernames *and* passwords. However, I am unsure how to combine your recipe below with our regular AD userdb/passdb. Perhaps someone can give me some pointers in that direction? (no subject)
Hello, I've been out of the sysadmin game for some time and I've recently setup a mail server. Everything is working except for the quota, which I believe is likely an error in how I'm using my SQL queries. Any guidance, pointers, or advice would be greatly appreciated. root at mail:/etc/dovecot/conf.d# dovecot -n # 2.0.19: /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf # OS: Linux 2.6.32-042stab079.6

Errata: dovecot + ldap + virtual mailbox: building mail location path
Hi all again, I've just realized that I did a bad cut&paste in my previous mail, then I rewrite my request. I apologize. I am trying to set up my dovecot configuration using LDAP and virtual mailboxes. I succeeded in authenticating the users correctly with LDAP, but have problems with referencing the correct mail location directory. I manage several domains. The mailboxes are stored

Sieve envelope :detail "to" "extention" does not deliver to fileinto destination
Dear Listmember. I resend this with different Subject so that the spamfilter does not drop the mail, I hope ;-) I try to migrate from my current courier-mta setup fo postfix dovecot setup. I use the following scirpt to filter to the destination mailbox. ### /var/vmail/none.at/al/.dovecot.sieve # from http://wiki.dovecot.org/LDA/Sieve require ["fileinto", "envelope",

Dovecot deliver
Hi all, I have a problem with my dovecot/postfix configuration: here is my dovecot -n # 1.2.16: /etc/dovecot.conf Warning: fd limit 128 is lower than what Dovecot can use under full load (more than 768). Either grow the limit or change login_max_processes_count and max_mail_processes settings # OS: OpenBSD 4.9 i386 nfs base_dir: /var/dovecot/ log_path: /var/log/dovecot protocols: imaps pop3s

Userdb userdb_mail=, error Mailbox list driver maildir++: maildir_name not supported by this driver
With this setting, all folders are empty, I guess understandable, because the mdbox has its own indexes stored locally with it. Does not explain though why inbox is empty. [@ dovecot]# cat special-userdb test:x:8267:231:Account with special settings for dovecot:/home/popusers/test:/bin/false:userdb_mail=mdbox:~/mdbox:INBOX=/ var/spool/mail/%u:INDEX=/var/dovecot/%u/index With this setting

Dovecot deliver LDA problem
Hello folks, I was trying to set up Dovecot deliver LDA instead of Postfix default virtual LDA In Postfix main.cf I specified: virtual_transport = dovecot dovecot_destination_recipient_limit = 1 In Postfix master.cf I entered: dovecot unix - n n - - pipe user=mailer flags=DRhu argv=/usr/local/mail/libexec/dovecot/deliver -f ${sender} -d ${recipient} In

Userdb userdb_mail=, error Mailbox list driver maildir++: maildir_name not supported by this driver
I have this default configuration [0], when use the userdb_mail to point to the mdbox location, the inbox subfolders show differently in a firebird client. So I decided to copy the whole default mail_location into the userdb_mail configuration [2]. But then I get errors [3]. Should I change the namespace configuration here, how? My default namespaces are inbox and 4archives [0] [@ ]#

user_global_* ldap deliver
Searched archive, but failed to find... :-( "deliver" does not honor user_global_* from dovecot-ldap.conf or userdb static{} also it looks like delivery attempts being made to %n/Maildir/cur ?? one other curious thing, use of ${recipient} in master.cf|deliver command causes the "passdb ldap" lookups to be completely ignored? only checks passdb and ignores userdb compleletely?

Postfix delivers mails to maildir and not to dovecot LDA for a virtual user
Hi I have been able to setup postfix and dovecot using postgres as the backend store with virtual user maps on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Server. I have been following instructions from here: http://wiki2.dovecot.org/HowTo/DovecotPostgresql I haven't setup postfix to use saslauthd and PAM, instead I am using dovecot for SASL authentication. Rest of the table structures and query files are the same as
