Statistics on stability?
Hello, I want to compare CentOS to Fedora and other distros on a stability/network-dependance basis. Where should I look for some published statistics on updates? I mean probably megabytes per week (or whichever units, of published updates over time), per distro. Can someone pls tell me the up and down between Centos and FC? I'm familiar with FC4 and some things that I like from it: 1. The available packages are abundant. Very easy to find

Where's v5.3 source RPMs?
It seems that the mirrors are now all sync'd with the binary RPMs, but where are the source packages? The source RPMs are available for the few packages updated since the upstream 5.3 release, but the SRPMS for the release itself are missing. Example: http://mirror.centos.org/centos-5/5.3/os/ has directories containing the x86 and x86_64 binaries, but should also have a SRPMS directory.

Does anyone (*ahem* Rich) already have a yum repo with upstream libguestfs rpms for RHEL/CentOS7?
Obviously due to the heavy development, the packages in RHEL7 (even 7.2) lack tons of things. I'm specifically interested in virt-builder and wondering if there's a preview repo that I'm not aware of. ...?

Next3 (eg ext3 snapshots support) on OpenNode / CentOS 5 / RHEL 5 howto and rpms
We have created an next3 and patched e2fsprogs OpenNode / CentOS 5 / RHEL 5 rpms - installable from opennode-test yum repo. Provided next3 kernel module is currently built against RHEL5 OpenVZ kernel used in OpenNode - so installing this next3 rpm package on your CentOS 5 or RHEL 5 host will install also OpenVZ patched RHEL5 kernel and newer e2fsprogs package. Samba 4 RPMs for RHEL 6
My apologies if this is something of a FAQ, but I would be grateful of some assistance. I am evaluating Samba 4 and would like to be able to create packages for installation on RHEL and CentOS 6.x servers. I've cloned the git repository and checked out tag 4.0.9, then used the "./packaging/RHEL-CTDB/makerpms.sh" script to build the RPMs. The process succeeds but the packages,

source rpms for fedora
Hello, I'm running centos5. There's some rpms that exist on fedora that are not in centos5 in it's repos. I was wondering if it was possible to set up yum to get only selected packages in source rpm form ou of a fedora repo and install them on centos? In that way they could be recompiled for centos5. Thanks. Dave.

Building Dovecot RHEL RPMs with custom LDAP packages
Hi, We are (still) mainly using CentOS 5 (5.8 x86_64). As CentOS / RHEL 5 standard OpenLDAP packages are rather old (2.3.x), we've been using LTB OpenLDAP packages (http://ltb-project.org/wiki/download#openldap), which get installed in non-standard file system locations. So, I would like to re-build Dovecot packages based on these OpenLDAP libraries, esp. because I see that dovecot RPM

RPMs for Fedora and RHEL/CentOS
Hi Michael, thx for suggestion. Yeah, it would be cool just to rebuild Fedora package for RHEL 7, but unfortunately I need dovecot for RHEL 6 :\ I found few repos that have newer version, then that in offical repo, but trustworthy is very important here.
