v1.2: Can't subscribe to shared user folder
Hi *, I stumbled across a small bug (missing feature?) in the new shared name space stuff: a001 list "" "*" * LIST (\Noselect \HasChildren) "/" "user" * LIST (\Noselect \HasChildren) "/" "user/bob at example.com" * LIST (\HasChildren) "/" "INBOX" * LIST (\HasNoChildren) "/" "INBOX/bar" * LIST

dovecot weird bug
Hi, We have a weird bug happening in our dovecot installation. When I send html emails from many clients and compress them, there are no problem. They are opened and correctly formated. When I send an email from Squirrelmail and compress it, dovecot exits with no errors (there are no coredumps or seg fault - dovecot just exits). But the weird is, it just happens when squirrelmail opens an email

Problem with squirrelmail and dovecot 1.1
Hello! I'm running squirrelmail 1.4.8 (I know this is not the latest version) and know I'm having troubles with: 1.) Folder list view 2.) Save to sent or Drafts folder. Configuration worked well. I think it has to do with the upgrade from dovecot 1.0 to 1.1 and the LIST command. Thunderbird/alpine work well. Commands from rawlog are: A002 LIST "" "~/Mail/Drafts"

Pros and cons of having folders under INBOX vs. not
I have some questions about whether I should set up folders under INBOX vs. having them outside the INBOX namespace. I'm setting up a new Dovecot 2.2.0 on an Ubuntu 12.04.2 server. My plan is to move my users (family members) to this new server from an old Cyrus server. Everybody is currently using (and will continue to use) IMAP, and either Thunderbird or SquirrelMail as their e-mail

LIST problem with Dovecot1.1beta10
Hi, Certain IMAP folder problems started popping up with Squirrelmail with the 1.1beta10 version of Dovecot (and possibly earlier versions). Looked into it and I am seeing odd behavior with the LIST command. Here is how to reproduce problem, unless I'm missing something obvious: a001 login dean <password> a001 OK Logged in. a002 list "" * * LIST (\NoInferiors \UnMarked)

I migrated from UW IMAP, copied ~/.mailboxlist to ~/mail/.subscritions When I access SquirrelMail, is sees the folders on the left side. If I modifiy my folder subscription, they dissappear all but INBOX, and the .subscriptions file gets deleted. What am I missing. Thanks Bertrand Leboeuf

Imap crashes when trying to move messages
The imap process crashes when SquirrelMail wants to move a message to another folder. I have run imap in gdb and talked to it the same way SquirrelMail does and got a backtrace. I am using Dovecot beta3. I am using it in combination with XMail, which has maildir databases. My system is Gentoo Linux on x86. The same version of Dovecot works great for me on amd64 with exactly the same config. Here

INTERNALDATE call, timezone randomly changes
Hi guys, I've run into an odd little problem. We use SquirrelMail as the basis for our webmail. Recently I've had a user complaining that the "Received" time on mail in the Sent folder has changed between logins. The change is always been by +1 hours or -5 hours. While checking, our developer had a time changed by +2 hours. On refresh it changed back. He poked through the code

subscription to mail folders not working properly anymore with dovecot1.0x ?
Hi we run dovecot on sun solaris 9. I try to switch from dovecot 0.99.11 to dovecot 1.0, with ssl support turned on. The user's mail are stored in mbox format in Mail in their home dirs. I was not able to get the subscrition working properly with the new dovecot. New means: 1.0beta2 and now also 1.0.RC1 (beta9) The client mailreaders are mainly thunderbird 1.0x and 1.5.x, Netscape Messenger,

IMAP: Get rid of non-existent folders below INBOX
Hi, I am using Debian Sarge w/ dovecot-imapd package 0.99.14-1. Squirrelmail created three folders below INBOX, Drafts/Sent/Trash, that I already had elsewhere. Thus, I deleted them (through SqM). However, both Thunderbird and Squirrelmail still show these folders anyway. When I select them, I keep getting "Mailbox does not exist" errors. I already tried to move all .imap.index* files

INBOX folders disappeared after upgrading
Hi, tried to Google/etc to see what to tweak.. not finding anything helpful. So.. I've been running my private mail through a Linux server since approx year 2000. The OS has been various flavors of Fedora or CentOS, since for work, I have to spend all day supporting some sort of Red Hat flavor. So I run SquirrelMail on top of Dovecot and Postfix on CentOS 7, things have been great for like

Courier to Dovecot: problems with folders
Hi all, I am migrating a maildir Courier-IMAP installation to Dovecot. Almost everything seems to work well, but I still have problems accessing subfolders. First let's see what I have done. I used the courier-dovecot-migrate.pl script suggested in http://wiki.dovecot.org/Migration/Courier to convert mailboxes from Courier to Dovecot. No problems here. My dovecot.conf contains this: (...)

Unsubscribing from public folders
Hi, I'm having problems unsubscribing from public folders - nothing seems to happen when I do that (from Thunderbird, Squirrelmail or telnet). I'm using Dovecot 1.2.11. I remember that this worked when I was using version 1.1.7. Here is an extract from an imap session: 3 unsubscribe "Public-NIB/archive/older" 3 OK Unsubscribe completed. 6 lsub ""

imap problems; error accessing inbox and some other folders
Hello all, First off, please let me apologize for cross posting this in both the fedora and centos lists. I have just run into a problem with imap that's becoming a real issue. About two or three days ago some of the mail folders became unusable/unreadable. For instance, my inbox shows 41 unread messages when I access it through pine on the server. But if I imap into it from

QUOTA support timeframe? (also -- folders in folders?)
I see it's been in the wishlist a while. Any possible timeframe for getting it working, or maybe a patch (or is it too big a change) to support it? I'm building a new server to move an existing userbase to. So far I have working: Postfix (with Maildir quota patches that work fine) Amavis-new with ClamAV scanning for viruses (will add SpamAssassin soon) SquirrelMail IMP (Horde)

LSUB and namespaces - how to get rid of multible prefixes
I'm using dovecot 1.0.rc7 and Squirrelmain 1.4.8 using IMAP on a Debian 3.1 Testing system, and I'm having a problem. When Squirrelmail (or other IMAP clients) submits an LSUB "" "*%", dovecot responds with: Request: A004 LSUB "" "*%" Response: * LSUB () "/" "INBOX.Sent" * LSUB () "/" "INBOX.Trash" *

Users w/o acl access appear to be subscribed to public folders (1.1b8)
I noticed this today, I had a user outside of our department test out dovecot. They were using squirrelmail and I noticed that dovecot thinks this user is subscribed to ALL public folders even though a dovecot ACL prevents all access. I'm pretty sure access is still denied. I was able to reproduce this with a guest account I added: l lsub "" "#shared/decs/%" * LSUB

2.1.rc1 (056934abd2ef): virtual plugin mailbox search pattern
Hello Timo, With dovecot 2.1.rc1 (056934abd2ef) there seems to be something wrong with virtual plugin mailbox search patterns. I'm using a virtual mailbox 'unread' with the following dovecot-virtual file $ cat dovecot-virtual * unseen For testing propose I created the following folders with each containing one unread message INBOX, INBOX/level1 and INBOX/level1/level2

Virtual folder root cannot be opened, virtual folders ok
I am running dovecot 1.2.16 and not able to figure out an error that happens whenever I select the root of a virtual mailbox tree. At the moment I have a simple maildir store, accessed via IMAP, and have successfully added a virtual fs namespace with two subdirectories. I have created dovecot-virtual entries in the subdirs and they are working fine; they show the expected messages, etc. My
