bwplot
Hi,
I have 2 questions about bwplot in R :
1) How to change the order of my different boxes in the graph ?
2) How to rename the names of the differents boxes ? because I know
how to do that with boxplot (using names) but I do not find the
equivalent parameter in bwplot.
thanks,
C?dric

basic bwplot query
Hi -
I have some data consisting of a number of observations within each of
15 countries. Each country falls into one of two groups. I'd like to
use the lattice library's bwplot to present boxplots of the
country-level data, with a separate panel for each group, but showing
only the relevant countries in each panel. Here's an analogous example
using the "singer" data

I am making my first attempt to get dovecot working with Postfix
virtual users/domains. The following is the error log and the output of

I am probably doing something really stupid; however, I do not know

sieve vacation to an alias group
Because its not actually a vacation, we are using it as an auto response
feature.
Its a support group that should auto respond to the customer automatically
for the first time.
If there is another method to achieve this, then we are more than happy to
change our setup.
Thanks

error bars in lattice xyplot *with groups*
Hi all,
I'm trying to plot error bars in a lattice plot generated with xyplot. Deepayan
Sarkar has provided a very useful solution for simple circumstances
(https://stat.ethz.ch/pipermail/r-help/2005-October/081571.html), yet I am
having trouble getting it to work when the "groups" setting is enabled in
xyplot (i.e. multiple lines). To illustrate this, consider the singer data

adding error bars to lattice plots
Dear R users,
About a year ago Deepayan offered a suggestion to incorporate error bars
into a dotplot using the singer data as an example
<<http://finzi.psych.upenn.edu/R/Rhelp02a/archive/63875.html>>.
When I try to utilize this code with a grouping variable, I get an error
stating that the subscripts argument is missing. I have tried to insert
them in various ways, but cannot

Changing point color/character in qqmath
Having solved this problem, I am posting this so that the next time I search
for how to do this I will find an answer...
Using qqmath(..., groups=num) creates a separate qq distribution for each
group (within a panel). Using the 'col' or 'pch' argument does not
(usually) work because panel.qqmath sorts the data (but not 'col' or 'pch')
before plotting. Sorting

Oh my, first he is lagging and now it's all a hurry :-)
Okay, here comes the next one.
I'm taking a short vacation next week so I will try to prepare 1 or 2 of
the next patches so that you can work on them as you have time.
Greetings, Andi

Subplot.
Hello All,
I wanted to do many plots (in my case, wanted to get 6 histograms) on the
same figure. Is there a method in R that analogous to 'subplot' in MATLAB?
Any help will be very much appreciated.

Logging in with '+' delimiter
Dovecot v1.2.4
FreeBSD-7.2
I have Postfix configured to use Virtual Users & Domains and use
Dovecot for virtual delivery. Postfix also sends, dovecot correctly
places mail with '+'addressing; i.e., "foo+bar at domain.com" into
"path-to-mail/domain.com/foo+bar". The problem is when I attempt to
access the mailbox, the user name: foo+bar at domain.com is rejected.

Configuring for virtual users in Postfix
FreeBSD-7.2 with Postfix-2.7x
OK, this is my first attempt to configure Dovecot using Postfix and
virtual users.
In the LDA.Postfix.txt file, there is a reference to making the
following setting:
dovecot_destination_recipient_limit = 1
virtual_mailbox_domains = your.domain.here
virtual_transport = dovecot
However, Postfix does not recognize the
dovecot_destination_recipient_limit = 1 setting.

dataframe: singers,
categorical variates: voice category (soprano,mezzo-soprano, ...) , voice type( drammatic, spinto, lirico-spinto, lirico,

RHEL6 beta vs. Xen
Has anyone yet figured out what it would take to make Xen
run on top of the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 beta?
We are heavily invested in Xen under RHEL5 (actually

they are shipping with update 4 and 5 is shaky and has bugs
which they don''t seem to be in a hurry to fix.
Basically I am wondering if Redhat 6 is just going to

Adjusting Font Size: lattice / bwplot
Hello,
If you run the following code with lattice installed:
bwplot(voice.part ~ height, data=singer, xlab="Height (inches)")
There will be some text in the graph e.g. Soprano 1, Soprano 2, etc -
60, 65, etc and the title: Height (Inches). How can one make the font
for this text larger and/or bold? Also, is there a way to thicken or
bold the lines of the box and whisker plot?
Thank

extracting rows of a dataframe
Hi
look at the following session, in which I have a dataframe,
and I want to extract the second row, without the first column.
Everything works as expected until the last line, where I set
the names of x to NULL, and get a non-desired object (I
want c(4,3).).
Three questions:
(1) why is as.vector(a[2,-1]) not a vector?
(2) How come setting names to NULL gives me bad weirdness?
(3) Can I
