Help with Merge - unexpected loss of factor level
Hi, Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me, I am very stumped on this problem... I use R every day and consider myself a confident user, but this seems to be an elementary problem.. Outline of problem: I am analysing the results of a study on protein expression in cancer tissues. problem with listing users on winXP/2k+3
Hello list, Some days ago i sent an email to this ML about a problem im having with listing users on winXP/2k+3 computers. The thing is our samba PDC has +1600 users and, this time i counted, there only appear on the "security advanced settings" list box (where we select users that can read/write/execute on a windows directory share), about 500/550 users. There is no evident reason

tripwire alternative
Hello all, Years ago, I used to work with tripwire for system monitoring. Last time I checked with "yum search tripwire", there is no hit. IIRC, it used to be packed by default on older Redhat distros. Any suggestion for an alternative of tripwire for my CentOS 5.6? Setting up more than 1 samba domain logon server in the same subnet
Hello all, I have a samba domain logon server set up for Windows 98 clients using SambaV1.9.18p8. Logon and sharing are working perfectly fine. It is serving workgroup yyctpa. Today, I installed SambaV1.9.18p8 again on another Solaris 2.6 running on a PC (name TMA), using the same smb.conf as the workable version but serving a different workgroup yyctpb. I created an account testuser in the

question about matrix
Hello, I have a few questions about matrix in R. Can we make a matrix whose elements are list? I would like to save two different values in each elements of matrix. If there is a package or something which can deal with complex numbers, that will do it too. Also, I am wondering whether there is a function to calculate the rank of the matrix. I found a matrix package, but it doesn't have

INFO method and DTMF translation
Hello guys, I have searched high and low, but not found any information about rules of using DTMF in SIP INFO method. Cisco has described something with Signal=, but it look like this feature is dependent on implementors? The problem is chan_sip.c cannot correctly translate received DTMF digits, especially #,*. At least with my Antek EGW-804 gateway. Looking into chan_sip.c, I found this code:

[GIT PULL] ocfs2 fixes for 2.6.36.
Linus et al, Here are the ocfs2 fixes we have ready for pulling right now. I have a bit of a procedural question, though. I've been busy, so Tao was kind enough to take the fixes I already had and apply all the new fixes. He coordinated testing them and getting them ready to go upstream. That's why I have his git tree in the pull request below. I wasn't sure how the signoffs work

rotated ylab with xyplot
hi all, in R, what's the best way to have a rotated ylab in a graph plotted with either xyplot or xYplot? I tried this but it didn't work. xyplot(y~x,data.frame(x=1:10,y=runif(10)),ylab=list(srt=90,crt=90,rot=90,label="my label")) more generally, how do you output a text at an angle in a lattice graph? what would be a good reference for R lattice graphics? using minor tickmarks with xYplot
Hi all, I'm trying to make a plot with the function xYplot from package Hmisc in R. I would like to have minor tick-marks on the axis. This should be a common simple feature to have but I don't seem to find any discussion on the topic. Following is one of the things I tried and the error returned: xYplot(y~x,data.frame(x=seq(1,10),y=runif(10)),minor.ticks=c(3.5,5.5)) Error in

Samba fileserver limited to 50 MB/s on gbit
Hello, I am running a fileserver with smbd here. The server is a 64bit 2.8 GHz Celeron D with 2GB RAM, running 64bit Debian, Samba version 3.0.23c. It is running as a pure fileserver so its only CPU load is serving files. The client I am doing the tests from is WinXP Pro SP2. It is connected via Intel e1000 gbit ethernet (both the server and client use e1000 chipsets). I have done a raw tcp

registry vulnerabilities in R
Kirtland Air Force Base has denied approval for the use of R on its Windows network. Some of their objections seem a bit strange, but some appear to be legitimate. In particular, they have detected registry "vulnerabilities" which are detailed in the attachment. I know nothing about Windows registry vulnerabilities. If any of these issues are legitimate concerns,
