Connection problems using dovecot proxy
Hi Maybe somebody could help me with the following problem: I have set up a dovecot imap proxy in the dmz and a dovecot imap server in the intranet. Both in version 1.05. Now, while this setup works using Thunderbird, iPhone, etc. I have problems connecting using a Samsung Qbowl. It simply aborts with a connection error. Using the same setup but bypassing the proxy and connecting to the

iproute2 src/FreeS/WAN
Hi! I''ve got two FreeS/WAN gateways setup, with one subnet<->subnet tunnel setup, which is working fine. I''ve setup iproute2 to route anything for either subnet via the ipsec0 device using a src address of the local interface. This is to force locally generated traffic (ie, traffic generated on the server) to go through the VPN, rather than out with a source IP of the

Token Bucket Filter and Dropping
I am trying to create my own Token Bucket Filter. However, I have a problem with packet dropping. Scenario : I got two streams 20KB/s each. I got one bucket with rate 20KB/s I put both streams into this bucket. When buffer is full packets need to be dropped. The problem is that only every other packet needs to be dropped in this scenario. Streams are the same so queue looks like that : S1 |

NFS, deleting folder issue
Hi there, I use dovecot on a server with some Nightmare File Systerm (aka NFS) storage. When I delete a folder, its content gets deleted, but the folder itself does not. Here's what I found: #### Step 1: From a shell, telnet to imap, then create a folder cpetrescu at cpetrescu-mobile:~$ telnet server1.localdomain 143 Trying 10.200.28.36... Connected to server1.localdomain. Escape

Windbindd restarts and lost uids
We have a problem with our setup that exposed another problem in winbindd. Setup: Samba 3.0.1, openLDAP 1.2.23 for idmap backend using port 1389, security=ads (w2k). All works after we get the daemons started successfully. The first issue has to do with the initial setup of both a Samba server [smbd, nmbd, winbindd, slapd], and a Samba client [just nmbd and winbindd]. We do the

winbindd + wbinfo -> NT_STATUS_CANT_ACCESS_DOMAIN_INFO
I still can't get winbindd working properly even though I am making some progress here. I retrieved the latest CVS version last night and now I can finally use non-anonymous connections - that works very well. I *did* update both of the pam modules in /lib and /lib/security winbindd runs under the account of a regular domain user "wbinfo -u" shows me all users and "getent

leaving Profiles on PDC
hi I'm trying to configure my samba server and its clients to leave the user profiles on the server if a user logs on/off. Windows (2000) seems to synchronize the local profile every time a user logs on/off, which can't be disabled. so, i thought, why not use this synchronize "feature" to synchronize the _same_ files ( - or then - don't touch anything ? ) I searched the

Dovecot can't read mail, creates duplicate directories
CentOS 6.5, dovecot 2.0.9-7 I used http://www.linuxmail.info/postfix-dovecot-ldap-centos-5/ to configure LDAP authentication for postfix and dovecot. I can log in to dovecot via IMAP, but it cannot read messages. It does wind up creating alternate directories though: [joliver at localhost ~]$ sudo ls -l /var/vmail/ total 8 drwx------. 3 vmail vmail 4096 Sep 10 15:00 testuser1 drwx------. 3

smbpasswd produces INCORRECT sambaNTPasswd hash on ppc (yellowdog 4.0 on xserve G5)
I'm having trouble setting up samba as a PDC on an apple xserve, using yellowdog linux 4.0. After a lot of thrashing, I believe the problem may be smbpasswd generating the wrong NT hash. Running smbpasswd on a redhat box (intel architecture) produces the follow LDAP entry: dn: uid=testuser2,ou=Users,dc=allstate,dc=network objectClass: top objectClass: inetOrgPerson objectClass: posixAccount

winbind/idmap issue on samba4 member server
Hello list, I'm stuck since 2 days and I have no clue how to troubleshoot and solve that problem. Any help really really appreciated. Scenario: ========= I am using Samba 4.1.12/sernet on DC1 (172.19.100.1) and DC2 (172.19.100.2) with default [netlogon] and [sysvol] share only. I installed an additional samba4 server with fileserving role which is called MEMBERSRV1 (172.19.100.3), which is

Case sensitivity
I think I've answered my last question by changing mail_location But I'm still getting duplicate mailboxes: [joliver at localhost ~]$ sudo ls -l /var/vmail/ total 8 drwx------. 3 vmail vmail 4096 Sep 11 10:30 testuser1 drwx------. 3 vmail vmail 4096 Sep 11 10:36 testUser1 The cn for my user is 'testUser1', and that's where postfix writes mail. But dovecot wants to use

Re: Active Directory Authentication working only for a subset of accounts-SOLVED
Apparently our winbindd_idmap.tdb was corrupt. We did a net idmap dump to get what we could out of it, shutdown winbind, net idmap restore, and restarted winbind and everything looks good. We had to chgrp and chown some small handfull of files but not many because luckily this server never made it to production (because we discovered this problem early on). On 2/6/07, Ramius

WIN 98 & XPP w/Samba+LDAP PDC...HELP!
Hey, I just got done setting up a Samba+LDAP PDC using the idealx tools on my fedora core 1 machine. I have created a user named 'testuser1' :uid=1000(testuser1) gid=513(Domain Users) groups=513(Domain Users). As 'testuser1' logs on WIN98 client, it is authenticating 'testuser1' as a 'nobody':(uid=99, gid=99) (pid 19880) As I try to join the domain from XP pro

Problem Connecting to Samba-OpenLDAP PDC
I have made some changes to try and get the PDC working and now I am down to one thing where I believe the problem lies. All such documents on the setup show that the addition of users to the PDC should be added to passwd as well as LDAP but for my system that is not the case. I am running the listed software: Fedora Core 4 OpenLDAP 2.2.23 Samba 3.0.14a This is what currently happens when I

Centos 7 member server login fails
I have a problem that is now becoming very annoying. Namely I have a Centos 7 member server running Sernet Samba 4.7.4 for which everything seems to work except gdm or ftp logins. On the linux client it seems winbindd is set up correctly. For example (the data shown below has been sanitized): > getent passwd testuser2:*:3001108:3000513::/home/testuser1:/bin/bash

problem with samba-ldap on RH9
? Hi, ? I have a computer with RH9, I've installed openldap and samba. I've configured OpenLdap and it runs ok. I've added a LDIF file with ldapadd and I had no problems, and I've configured smbldap-tools. I've configured linux using the command authconfig, no problems again. However, I have a probem when I try to test my system: I can create a system account in LDAP:
