Using Postfix with Virtual Users/Virtual Domains, I have configured it with a wild card entry; i.e., "*.mydomain.com" This works fine in Postfix; however, using Dovecot for delivery is causing the message to bounce since Dovecot does not have an entry in the "user passwd" or "userdb" file. I want to store the catch-all addresses in a separate mailbox. Can I use sieve

Saving files with wrong permission
I am attempting to save files from MS Word into a directory located on a FreeBSD 5.4 machine running Samba. For some reason, the files are always saved with permission 766 rather than 666, which is what I want them saved as. This is the pertinent part of the smb.conf. file. # Samba config file created using SWAT # Date: 2005/08/21 11:05:15 # Global parameters [global] lanman auth = no log file

Logging in with '+' delimiter
Dovecot v1.2.4 FreeBSD-7.2 I have Postfix configured to use Virtual Users & Domains and use Dovecot for virtual delivery. Postfix also sends, dovecot correctly places mail with '+'addressing; i.e., "foo+bar at domain.com" into "path-to-mail/domain.com/foo+bar". The problem is when I attempt to access the mailbox, the user name: foo+bar at domain.com is rejected.

Configuring for virtual users in Postfix
FreeBSD-7.2 with Postfix-2.7x OK, this is my first attempt to configure Dovecot using Postfix and virtual users. In the LDA.Postfix.txt file, there is a reference to making the following setting: dovecot_destination_recipient_limit = 1 virtual_mailbox_domains = your.domain.here virtual_transport = dovecot However, Postfix does not recognize the dovecot_destination_recipient_limit = 1 setting.

MailDIR and expire plugin
All of the mailboxes on this system are in MailDIR format. None of the users delete mail off of the server after POPing their accounts. This is the present setting: expire = Trash 7 Spam 30 expire_dict = proxy::expire Is that correct for MailDIR style mailboxes? It doesn't appear correct; however, I have not been able to find any specific documentation on expire with MailDIR style

Dovecot2 Antispam MAILTRAIN backend with SpamAssassin
Hi there, I've already asked this question on FreeBSD forums without getting any response. So, I thought it's a good idea to ask it again here. I've setup Dovecote2 (2.2.13) + Postfix + SpamAssassin on my FreeBSD 10 VPS and it works flawlessly. Though, I couldn't setup the Dovecot Antispam plugin to train SpamAssassin when I move mails to the Junk folder. I installed the

Feature request: add information to error message: client doesn't have lookup permissions for this user: userdb reply doesn't contain uid (change userdb socket permissions)
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Please add the information to this error, which socket has the problem and which uid access is and what is expected. For instance, when the quota dict request fails, because of permission problems, you get a very detailed info about the current problem. And, further more, hints to solve it. Hi There, Ive taken a look at this and cant quite figure out what is going on here. I have tested all the SQL permissions, and also changed the unix_listener auth-userdb mode to 0666 (as instructed elsewhere to try and solve this issue), but cannot seem to work out what the issue is. Would someone be able to please point me in the correct direction here? Output of log + dovecot -n via this
