Plugin when downloading mail
Is there a way to modify mail messages when they are downloaded using a special login. eg. my normal login for dovecot is martijn at youngguns.nl but when I log in using martijn at dosomething.youngguns.nl I would like to download my mail which are processed using a Perl script. The Perl script will modify the content of the message (the message body). So I don't want to change the header or

LDA to address extensions

I've configured postfix with these dovecot as LDA: mailbox_command = /opt/redknot/libexec/dovecot/deliver -f "$SENDER" -d "$USER" -m "$EXTENSION" -a "$RECIPIENT" recipient_delimiter = + Sam is a

NFS Maildirs
Hi, We have our user homedirs on nfs so I enabled nfs parameters in dovecot.conf. Everything works fine but when I want to delete a homedir of a user I can't delete it because I can't remove the .nfs files in the Maildir. I don't want to stop dovecot, remove the homedir and start dovecot. Is there another way to accomplish this. Thanks, Martijn # 1.2.12:

IMAP bandwidth
Hi, I want to calculate the bandwidth usage of the IMAP protocol. POP3 displays a message when the connection is closed about the transfered bytes. In an old mailinglist post I found this message: http://www.dovecot.org/list/dovecot/2007-March/020478.html Is this patch integrated or is there another way to calculate the bandwidth for IMAP connections? How many imap processes per user
Hi, I'm using dovecot for the first time on a production server (before dovecot I used bincimapd). I have a question about the number of imap (not imap-login) processes created for a user. I've seen 100+ processes for just 1 user. So far it only occurs for 1 user, other users have just 1 imap process. I now the user is using thunderbird and 2 mailclients are logged in at the

pam_setcred() without pam_authenticate()?
Should pam_setcred() be called if pam_authenticate() wasn't called? I would say not; both of these functions are in the authenticate part of pam. It seems the the 'auth' part of pam config controls which modules get called, so if you didn't to _authenticate() you shouldn't do _setcred(). thx /fc

Disabling logging during pam_authenticate
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Is there any way to disable logging of failures during pam_authenticate? I ask because OpenSSH is currently generating an extra "authentication failure..." message at each login. The problem is that OpenSSH likes to try a blank password attempting any other authentication. This is a shortcut for anonymous SSH servers (e.g. OpenBSD's

pam_authenticate() failed: authentication error
Hello, I would like to ask for your help. I have noticed some error messages issued by dovecot. Not surprisingly $ l /etc/pam.d/dovecot ls: /etc/pam.d/dovecot: No such file or directory The funny thing is that authentication does work

Packages build for Solaris ? As CSW packages ?
Well imitation is the highest form of flattery they say. So I''m surprised to see these packages neatly built to install into /opt/csw correctly and yet they exist somewhere else and have nothing to do with us here at Blastwave. fascinating. I guess we can always send an email to the person doing this and just ask if they want those packages in testing and then into the catalog for

problems with puppetd on some of my solaris machines
I am having troubles with getting puppetd running on some of my Solaris10 update 7 (05/2009) boxes. I use Jumpstart to build my servers, so the installation is repeatable, consistent, and automated, so it is especially confusing that some boxes work, and others don''t. I can ssh into both of these machines, so the host certs should be OK. As part of my installation, I download the

This discussion is to a follow up regarding bug#1955 "Could not find server puppet" - installation/configuration error". jamtur01''s last recommendation: Rather than renaming things try the certname option (see http://reductivelabs.com/trac/puppet/wiki/ConfigurationReference). puppetrun fails: "Certificates were not trusted"
Hello all, I''ve tried to run ''puppetrun'', but there seems something unconfigured regarding the certificates. The reverse way (puppetd pulls the config from puppetmasterd) works fine. The namespaceauth.conf on the client (where puppetd runs) is configured as follows: [puppetrunner] allow *.abc.net (also tried the calling host: puppet1.abc.net) But when I call
