yam help
I am trying to use yam to create a repo based on the 4.4 CDs. I have copied the contents of the CDs to /var/dist/CentOS-4.4-i386. No matter what I try, yam always creates an emtpy repo. We have dropped dovecot in place of UW-IMAP for about 40000 users and have solved our immediate problem: disk I/O overload, mainly from people doing POP3 and "leave mail on server". Thank you! Now i got loads of dovecot error messages in the logs and don't know if there is any significance. Here are a few examples: The most common event is: 2007-12-06 16:00:17.837654500 dovecot:

FreeBSD 7.0-RC3 (for amd64/i386 only) Available
We're doing a "mini-RC3" to encourage testing of the Highpoint driver (hptrr) backout. Testing of 7.0-RC2 showed there were problems with the driver update done between RC1 and RC2. Because it's a "mini-RC" targetted at testing of one particular thing we have not bothered with setting up FreeBSD Update. You can use the normal cvsup-and-build method of doing an update

Tru64 Unix vs. OpenSSH 2.9p2
Hi, We installed OpenSSH 2.9p2 with OpenSSL 0.9.6b on our Compaq Alpha ES40 running Tru64 Unix 5.0a. We've been having problems where one of our users appears in the output of "w" and is associated with a pseudoterminal even though he has no processes attached to that pty. Printing Issues with NT type Clients.
Hi. To begin with, I have a freshly built RedHat Linux 8.0 box running samba 2.2.8a. The kernel version is 2.4.18-14. I downloaded and compiled samba from source. I am using LPRng-3.8.9-6 as my printing system. The attached printer is a Lexmark Z22 printer and it is attached to the parralel port. Problem: For the life of me, I can't get NT type clients, NT4, 2K and XP to print to samba.

Oil progress
The first thing to do in tuesday is to get in on EQTD. It will SOAR up next week. There will be more than 100% appreciation within the first few hours, so do it without delay. With oil markets retreating, big traders are turning to gold, driving it to levels never before seen. EQTD has made an advertisement of staggering proportions related to a recent survey on one of their gold properties.

CentOS 4 - i2o_block - Adaptec RAID
I know I saw some other posts on this in the archives, but I wanted to see if there was any new information. I have MANY Intel servers (SR1200, SR1300, etc.) that are using the Adaptec 2010S, 2100S, 2110S and 2120S SCSI RAID Controllers. They are currently running CentOS3.4 and everything works great. From what I know, these cards should be able to use the i2o_block driver which is part of the

Preserving symbolic links on the destination machine
Hi there, I'm trying to keep my laptop up-to-date with my desktop. For various reasons I have a number of directories which are soft-linked to directories on different machines on the network to which my desktop is connected. When I sync to my laptop with a command like rsync -vazu -e ssh ~/* --delete <destination> -L --copy-unsafe-links it does what I want, which is to copy
