Upgrading Dovecot on CentOS 4 from 0.99 to 1.x
(sorry for my previous message, I sent it by mistake before finishing it)
Hello,
We have a production mail server running dovecot 0.99 (dovecot-0.99.14-1.rf).
We are getting several errors corrected in dovecot 1.x versions:
* corrupted inboxes (garbage at beggining of mbox files),
* corrupted index files (Error: Corrupted file

INBOX permissios woes
Hello,
I have a dovecot system that uses winbind authentication
against Active Directory. I set it up by following the directions in the
wiki. That works great.
When a new user receives an email, the inbox
is created with permissions 600 (rw- --- --) and ownership user:mail ,
even though I did chmod 02770 /var/spool/mail. And then, when dovecot
tries to access the inbox, it throws the error:

Upgrade path questions
Hi,
We are currently running Dovecot v1.1.6 on our servers, and are
contemplating an upgrade to 1.2, or 2.0 soon. We are wondering how many
organizations are still running a 1.1 version of Dovecot, and if anyone
has any thoughts on this transition. Have you upgraded from 1.1 to 1.2?
What are your experiences with this? Have you upgraded from 1.1 to 2.0
directly? What are your experiences this

Samba <- Winbind -> Windows 2003 ADS Questions
Hi everyone,
I'm relatively new to Samba - at least for more in-depth installations.
Big Thank-You from my company to the brilliant developers responsible for
this software. We have our Samba server integrated with our Windows 2003
AD domain users via Winbind - a working installation with some issues
described below. getent passwd works as the many docs show (one entry

Usage of rJava (.jcall) with Weka functions, any example?
Dear All,
I'd like to use Weka functions that are not implemented (do not have
interface) in RWeka, like the Remove function and others in the
future!
The .java() functionality is for that purpose but I haven't seen any
example with Weka functions. Could anyone give me hand in how to do
it? For instace if I want to use the
weka.filters.unsupervised.attribute.Remove?

smbclient works, mount.cifs fails NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE in Samba 4.8.3
Hello,
I am attempting to debug an issue with my Samba configuration. It has been
working fine, but we recently updated Samba from 4.6.x to 4.8.3 and are now
seeing some issues authenticating.
Most of our servers are still working fine after the upgrade, but one
server is giving us issues. A little more environment info: The server is
running Centos 7.1. Windows clients can connect OK. We are

Problem with file ownerships on domain member server
Hi
I'm possibly missing something obvious, but I'm struggling with ownership permissions on a Samba server.
I have a Solaris 10 server running Samba 3.0.33. The server has been joined to the Active Directory domain (CSS).
Every user has both a Unix login (served by NIS) and a Windows Domain login account. I can connect to the Samba share and create files without any problems. The Samba

Any mountain clustering method in R?
Dear all,
I wonder which R algorithm could perform a mountain clustering in an spatial
grid, in other words, having the coordinates of a map (x,y ... or even more)
and then the altitude/height at each point I would like to localise the
peaks of that topological surface. Which R algorithm can perform this? I see
it as a clustering problem where the peak should be at the center of each
cluster.

user name with a dot not working
Hello,
I'm having problems with user names containing a dot. For example
"j.smith".
In our network we have Win2K PDC and a Samba server. smb.conf contains
this:
[global]
security = domain
password server = MYSERVER
username map = /etc/samba/smbusers
[myshare]
valid users = j.smith
write list = j.smith
etc...
/etc/samba/smbusers file contains this:
jsmith = j.smith

Recommended dovecot version
Hi,
I'm running CentOS 4 in a X86_64 server with dovecot. I've been having some
(already reported by others) problems. For example, sometimes - randomly - a
mbox file wil get a couple of lines at the beggining of the mbox file
(/var/spool/mail/user), before the first From line, and dovecot will complain
that that file is not a mbox file. Also, neither sylpheed nor thunderbird

Introduction and question
First let me introduce myself to all the list. My name is Josep and I
live near Barcelona.
This is my first message to the list (I haven't even read any), and I do
not know if it is too easy (my question), or if perhaps it is not
possible to do what I'm trying to do.
Well, let's begin the interesting stuff and finish all the bla-bla-bla's
that most people hate :-D

I have already integrated my samba with the Active directory domain

group "ccusers" to Active Directory group "NICE\ccusers". I need my AD
users that don't have local accounts on my machine to be able to access
directories owne by the UNIX group ccusers. It seems like it should be

QoS over ISDN
Hi all,
Has anyone experienced QoS over an ISDN connection? Have you found any
trouble setting this ? In fact, I hasn''t to exist any trouble but not in
my case. I have tried something and it seems doesn''t work every time.
Besides, I need more tests. But for the moment, any experience
information will be useful.
Thanks all in advance.
