Adding points to a wireframe: 'x and units must have length >0' error
Hi,
I'm trying to follow the suggestions given by Deepayan Sarkar in this
message:
http://tolstoy.newcastle.edu.au/R/help/05/11/16135.html
to plot 3-D points on a wireframe plot. The problem is that I keep getting a
partly formed plot- with the colored lattice visible but no axis labels or
additional points- with the error message "error using packet 1, 'x' and
'units'

Quota question.
Hi,
I am trying to get quota working properly on dovecot 1.2.3 with postfix admin,
amavisd-new, mysql, and postfix.
So far I can see the db getting updated when messages are added and deleted
from the mailbox. The problem I am having is that I have imported a bunch of
messages from the old mail server that was running uw-imap and mbox to the
doevcot machine using maildir++. As a result the

Benchmarking
I wasted too much time today doing this, but they do show a few
interesting things:
1) mmap_disable=yes is faster than mmap_disable=no. I didn't expect
this. I'm not yet sure why this is, but possibly because then it updates
the mail index by reading the changes from dovecot.index.log, instead of
reopening and re-mmaping dovecot.index. At least that's the biggest
difference between

dbox benchmarks
http://hg.dovecot.org/dovecot-dbox-redesign/
Looks like multi-dbox scales pretty nicely. Even after 100k messages the
peak saved msgs/sec is the same as the initial saved msgs/sec, even if
the average slows down somewhat.
I tested this by first deleting mailbox, then running "imaptest" for a
second to get saving to start writing several fields to
dovecot.index.cache file. Then ran

Syslog debug messages
Is there a way to configure dovecot to register in syslog the debug
messages enabled by mail_debug=yes as a debug not as information?
I need this because I want to send this kind of information only to a
remote server. I've configured rsyslog to do this, but dovecot is
registering those debug messages as information not as debug (as I
expected).
This is my rsyslog config:

quote warning not being triggered (yet again)
I'm using 1.2.6 with the managesieve patch and maildir++ quotas (via
the maildirsite file). Again, I found that the quota warning is not
bering triggered.
Testing via:
smtp-source -4 -f sender at charite.de -t recipient at charite.de -m 1 -l 1000000 -C 1 mail.charite.de:submission
recipient at charite.de being a mailbox with a 10.0 MB limit.
I attached dovecot -n and the quota warn script.

Sieve isn't working
Hi,
I tried to get Sieve plugin running but I don't get it to work and
actually have no idea what's wrong.
My dovecot version is 1.2.12 and dovecot -n prints this:

2.0, hourly performance stats
I'm getting constantly high numbers of page reclaims & involuntary
context switches for dovecot/auth.
page reclaims = minor faults = cpu switching back to system-mode, But
why is the auth process doing that so excessively? Same for the large
number of involuntary context switches...
Attached is my "dovecot -n" output.

Load average on machine 400+
Hi all,
Over the past week our mail server which NFS mounts the /home directory
for mail has been experiencing major load issues. When doing a 'top',
it appeared that slapd was the culprit (we use LDAP for authentication),
but after upgrading the system and updating ldap, the cpu usage for LDAP
has gone down, but the load average as not.
I'm using Maildir. Everything from /home

the bug only in CVS HEAD but not in branch_1_0 even though both had it.
Anyway, now the imaptest runs nicely for both, and I'm again optimistic
that the bug count is low enough for v1.0 to be released soon :)

Shared namespace, separator, username and dots.
Hi folks,
I run a legacy mailserver that i had replaced courier-imap for dovecot
1.2. Everything is fine except for shared namespace. Maildir structure
has been created using dot '.' as folder separator. It happens that all
our users are created as name.surname as default. So when I want to
select a shared folder, MUA end up with the following IMAP command:

Maildir on NFS - attribute caching question
Hi Timo,
We've been running Dovecot with Maildir on NFS for quite a while - since
back in the 1.0 days I believe. I'm somewhat new here. Anyway...
The Wiki article on NFS states that 1.1 and newer will flush attribute
caches if necessary with mail_nfs_storage=yes. We're running 1.2.8 with
that set, as well as mail_nfs_index=yes, mmap_disable=yes and
fsync_disable=no. We have a pool

Benchmarking CVS HEAD vs. v1.0
Some new features in CVS HEAD are:
- v1.0 saves most of the data to dovecot.index.cache only when the
client is FETCHing the messages. With mboxes the message headers are
saved while parsing the mbox, which is almost the same thing.
With CVS HEAD the dovecot.index.cache file is updated already when the
new messages are being saved (with deliver or IMAP APPEND). This avoids
reading the message

Maildir locking by LDA of dovecot
Hi all!
First of all, I want ti thank the whole Dovecot community (developers
for developing and fast responses, users for populating and responses
too). Dovecot is a really good and fast IMAP server - it serves near
3000 in our installation.
Now I have a problem and request community's help its resolving;)

Sieve and ACL problem

Hi,
I've come across a problem that I can't figure out. I'm using Dovecot

I'm using the following sieve script to sort my incoming mail.
