Installing IMA (Integrity Measurement Architecture) on CentOS 5.5
I'm trying to install IMA (http://linux-ima.sourceforge.net/) on
CentOS 5.5, but the shipped kernel does not support it.
One solution is to install a 2.6.30 kernel, but I don't really like this idea.
Does anybody has tried to install it?
Regards,
Andreas

inquire
I am looking for the binary rw1051. I have some code that will only run in version 1.5.1 and I need to install the old binary code. Is there a repository for previous R versions?

New to list, got a quota question
Hello folks -
I'm running dovecot on top of qmail/vpopmail/mysql, serving up about
2500 mailboxes. Everything is running very smooth and fast.... I
recently upgraded dovecot to 1.1, so I'm trying to implement some extra
features like IMAP quotas.
I'm using the sql passdb, with the following config:
driver = mysql
connect = host=/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock user=username

Using glusterfs for virtual machines with qcow2 images
Hi,
we'd like to use glusterfs for Proxmox and virtual machines with qcow2
disk images. We have a three node glusterfs setup with one volume and
Proxmox is attached and VMs are created, but after some time, and I think
after much i/o is going on for a VM, the data inside the virtual machine
gets corrupted. When I copy files from or to our glusterfs
directly everything is OK, I've

/proc/mounts always shows "nobarrier" option for xfs, even when mounted with "barrier"
Ran into a confusing situation today. When I mount an xfs filesystem on
a server running centos 5.4 x86_64 with kernel 2.6.18-164.9.1.el5, the
barrier/nobarrier mount option as displayed in /proc/mounts is always
set to "nobarrier"
Here's an example:
[root at host ~]# mount -o nobarrier /dev/vg1/homexfs /mnt
[root at host ~]# grep xfs /proc/mounts
/dev/vg1/homexfs /mnt xfs

Samba4 errors
Hello,
We've been using samba v4 for a while, but recently we faced two problems
for which we cannot determine the source - nor the solution:
- every day samba4 stops authenticating new users and sharing folders.
While previous logged users can access resources and services, users that
weren't logged can't log in. It happens either from kerberos or directly
from LDAP.

Using glusterfs for virtual machines with qcow2 images
Hi Chris,
here is a link to the settings needed for VM storage: https://github.com/gluster/glusterfs/blob/03592930239c3b43cbbdce17607c099ae075fd6d/extras/group-virt.example#L4
You can also ask in ovirt-users for real-world settings.Test well before changing production!!!
IMPORTANT: ONCE SHARDING IS ENABLED, IT CANNOT BE DISABLED !!!

Using glusterfs for virtual machines with qcow2 images
Chris:
Whilst I don't know what is the issue nor the root cause of your issue with using GlusterFS with Proxmox, but I am going to guess that you might already know that Proxmox "natively" supports Ceph, which the Wikipedia article for it says that it is a distributed object storage system.
Maybe that might work better with Proxmox?
Hope this helps.
Sorry that I wasn't able

[EXT] [Glusterusers] Using glusterfs for virtual machines with qco
We use qcow2 with libvirt based kvm on many small clusters and have
found it to be exremely reliable though maybe not the fastest, though
some of that is most of our storage is SATA SSDs in a software RAID1
config for each brick.
What problems are you running into?
You just mention 'problems'

Using glusterfs for virtual machines with qcow2 images
Hi everybody
Regarding the issue with mount, usually I am using this systemd service to
bring up the mount points:

Description=Glustermounting
Requires=glusterd.service
Wants=glusterd.service
After=network.target network-online.target glusterd.service

On oVirt / Redhat Virtualization,
the following Gluster volumes settings are recommended to be applied
(preferably at the creation of the volume)
These settings are important for data reliability, ( Note that Replica 3 or
Replica 2+1 is expected )
performance.quick-read=off
performance.read-ahead=off
performance.io-cache=off
performance.low-prio-threads=32
network.remote-dio=enable

Centos 8 and xfs_quota
Folks
I'm trying to use xfs_quota to keep track of disk space usage for my
users. The documentation states that I should specify "uquota" as an
option on the mount data in /etc/fstab. Yet, I cannot find the entry
in fstab that corresponds to the Logical Volume that ends up being
mounted on /home1.
The system in question was installed on a single disk system. Later,

RODC between samba v4 servers
I'm preparing a lab to test the scenario in which a remote office uses a
RODC to cache all users/computers/GPOs from a DC.
I've set up a environment with all requirements (two subnets, one with a DC
and the other with a RODC).
I've joined the domain with a windows machine to the RODC subnet with both
DCs being up.
Using the windows tools (DSA), I've placed a user account and the

SNAT based on MAC before routing
Hi gurus,
I need a way to do SNAT based on source mac before routing. This is because
hosts attached to my gateway can have duplicate IP addresses, and I have to
distinguish over them.
I tried to use the nat tool that comes with iproute2, but this force to make
a mapping only address to address, and I wanted to do it by mark (I also use
iptables to do that). For example, I tried to
