Has anyone experience with rsync out of memory
Hello,
we are using rsync on AIX and run into out of memory.
There have been some threads about out of memory and FAX
tells that this is a known problem. So I need to finde
a workaround for this.
Please help me!
We try to sync many (nnnn) Thumbnails of size 2k between
AIX and Linux with
rsync -a --delete --rsh=ssh <source dir> <user>@<server>:<target dir>

Possibly dumb questions about DC and user/system limits
Because of user access growth, the number of processes associated with

rsync out of memory at 8 MB although ulimit is 512MB
Hello again,
I encountered something amazing. First I thought there is not
enough memory allowed through ulimit. ulimit is now set to
(almost) 512MB but rsync still gets out fo memory at 8MB.
Can anyone tell me why?
That's my configuration:
rsync version 2.6.2
from AIX 5.3 to SuSE Linux 9 (also has rsync 2.6.2)
ulimit -a (AIX)
ulimit -a AIX (source):

Intermittent authentication error
Hello,
I have an intermittent authentication error between a Windows 2003 Server and AIX 6.1 TL4 Samba 2.2.7. I have the Samba server passing auth details to an active directory server. The account exists on AIX but is locked and there is no smbpasswd entry (this is how I setup all my samba shares). On the Windows server a mapping has been created to mount this path on restart. In most cases

Memory Problems in R
Hello everyone -
I have a couple of questions about memory management of large objects.
Thanks in advance for your response.
I'm running R version 1.9.1 on solaris 8, compiled as a 32 bit app.
My system has 12.0 GB of memory, with usually ~ 11GB free. I checked
system limits using ulimit, and there is nothing set that would limit
the maximum amount of memory for a process (with the

IAX Peer/auth issues WAS: Netlogic inbound DID issue
Has something changed in the recent modifications to Asterisk that would
break dialing of the IAX peer? We're getting these authority failures
everywhere.
Everything is configured just the way it was half a year ago, this is
the message we're getting on the most recent vers of asterisk. Wiki says
nothing, nor does the ast-dev list..

AIX 5.1 rsync large file
Hello,
I have inherited a setup where there are 2 AIX 5.1 systems in 2 separate
sites. There are large database files that are backed from each site to
the other via rsync. Currently, it is using rsync version 2.5.4. It does
it via ssh with the options -avz. This has all been merrily plodding along
for some time. There is one file that is over 45 GB, and it started having

could not copy a file bigger than 1GB
Hi,
I have installed Samba 2.2.8 on AIX 5.2 server. I tried to copy a
file (around 106 GB) from win2k server to this AIX box. The "copy"
process was stop when the file was copied up to 1GB. Do you know what
was wrong? Is there anything I need to set on AIX server site in order
to transfer large file?

Samba/Winbind 3.4.4 on AIX 5.3 TL 10 does not retrieve ANY User's Secondary Groups
Hi folks !
Has someone any idea on this issue on AIX 5.3 TL 10 with winbind ?
I'm really stuck now ...
I think everything is working pretty well with WINBIND and AD 2k3 ,
but not my most important point : I absolutely need the Secondary groups of
each AD user which get connected to the AIX to use this filter with sudo...
I only get Primary Group (which is by default "Domain Users"

Re: Anyone seen build hangs (esp armv7, s390x) in Fedora?
[Dropping devel, adding libguestfs]
This can be reproduced on x86-64 so I can reproduce it locally. It
only appears to happen when the tests are run under rpmbuild, not when
I run them as ‘make check’, but I'm unclear why this is.
As Eric described earlier, the test runs two copies of nbdkit and a
client, connected like this:
qemu-img info ===> nbdkit nbd ===> nbdkit example1

Re: guestfs_launch gets stuck
Hi Rich,
I spend several days on this issue but still cannot figure out the root
cause. Sometimes, guestfs_lauch() gets stuck, sometimes, it is ok.
I reproduced this issue using guestfish:

libvirtd not accepting connections
Hi,
Ever since I recently upgraded to Fedora 25, I can't get kvm working.
It's worked on this system since initial fedora 20 install. All
upgrades were done via yum, then once available, dnf.
I do have libvirt-sock in LISTENING state: STREAM LISTENING
/var/run/libvirt/libvirt-sock
I noticed I also have multiple connections in CONNECTING state:
