Corrupt index files
I am running Dovecot IMAP on Linux, on a LizardFS storage cluster with Maildir storage. This has worked well for most of the accounts for several months. However in the last couple of weeks we are seeing increasing errors regarding corrupted index files. Some of the accounts affected are unable to retrieve messages due to timeouts. It appeared the problems were due to the accounts being accessed

Various uidlist and index errors with 1.1 on NFS
Two nights ago I took a leap and extended my testing of dovecot 1.1 by replacing 1.0 for the approx 15 users I had on 1.0. At that time I also for the first time tried dovecot 1.1 in a load balanced 2 server configuration with indexes on NFS. I was hoping I did this right, using the mail_nfs params and 1.1 so fchown etc would flush the access cache, but I am getting a number of messages and

Problems using GFS2 and clustered dovecot
I am trying to use dovecot. I've got a GFS2 shared volume on two servers with dovecot running on both. On one server at a time, it works. The test I am trying is to attach two mail programs (MUA) via IMAPS (Thunderbird and Evolution as it happens). I've attached one mail program to each IMAPS server. I am trying to move emails around in one program (from folder to folder), and then

Lock file issues
First off, just want to say Dovecot is great! We have been using it for several months now in a fairly large installation with only a few problems. We are running 1.0.rc28 on three servers with 3 Horde/IMP boxes talking to Dovecot. The user's home dirs are located on an NFS server and the indexes are stored in their Maildirs. I have mmap_disable=yes and lock_method=dotlock in dovecot.conf.

I'm running Dovecot 2.0.15 and have a client which keeps causing log-entries like: Nov 4 15:10:42 mail dovecot: imap (test at aaaone.net): Error: Corrupted transaction log file /mail/3340444/.TestMails/dovecot.index.log seq 2: indexid changed 1320419300 -> 1320419441 (sync_offset=0) Nov 4 15:10:42 mail dovecot:

dovecot corrupted transaction log
Hi I came across this error which happend immedately after a mail delivery to the inbox. Should I look for the problem externally to dovecot (ie. file system, operating system) or within dovecot? I never saw this error before installing 2.2.1, with 2.2.2 I seemed to get even more of them so currently back on 2.2.1 Thanks John Jun 11 00:00:05 rosalia dovecot: imap(myemail at mydomain): Error:

corrupted transaction log errors causing users mail to disappear temporarily
So Ive been looking into some problems with users reporting their mail goes missing for a second but then re-apears very soon after. I have tracked it down to happening at the same time these appear in the logs. Seems the transaction logs is getting corrupted somehow and then rebuilding itself (which works fine). The problem is while its re-builing the users think all of their mail is gone.

ZFS Index corruption and Connection reset by peer
Hello, I'm currently using dovecot 1.2.11 on FreeBSD 8.0 with ZFS filesystems. So far, so good, it works quite nicely, but I have a couple glitches. Each user has his own zfs partition, mounted on /home/<user> (easier to set per user quotas) and mail is stored in their home. From day one, when people check their mail via imap, a lot of indexes corruption occured : dovecot:
