Plugins / libraries for user-specific CSS?
Hi all,
I''m creating a social networking site which (obviously) will be mostly
user-created content. I''d like for users to also be able to have some
control over the look of the site - ie for them to choose ''skins'' or
create a custom stylesheet overriding some of the basic CSS attributes
so they can choose their preferred font, etc. In an ideal world,

R interpreting numeric field as a boolean field
Dear friend Duncan,
Thank you so much for your kind reply. Yes, that is exactly what is
happening, there are a lot of NA values at the start, so R assumes that the
field is of type boolean. The challenge that I am facing is that I want to
read into R an Excel file that has many sheets (46 in this case) but I
wanted to combine all 46 sheets into a single dataframe (since the columns
are exactly

R interpreting numeric field as a boolean field
If you are using the read_excel() function from the readxl package, then
there's an argument named col_types that lets you specify the types to use.
You could specify col_types = "numeric" to read all columns as numeric
columns. If some columns are different types, you should specify a
vector of type names, with one entry per column. Allowable names are
"skip",

R interpreting numeric field as a boolean field
Incidentally, "didn't work" is not very useful information. Please tell us
exactly what error message or apparently aberrant result you received.
Also, what do you get from:
sapply(your_dataframe, "class")
nrow(your_dataframe)
(as I suspect what you think it is, isn't).
Cheers,
Bert

rsync 3.0.6 overflow question
Hello list,
I'm running rsync from a FreeBSD 6.3 server to another FreeBSD 6.3
server. Both are running rsync 3.0.6. The transfer keeps dying with the
following errors.
On the receiver I'm getting the following error

[Bug 13901] New: Empty quotes adds cwd to SRC directories
I brought this up on the list years ago and was told it's a feature, not
a bug.
Even if some other GNU or Linux commands have this "feature", it still
violates the principle of least surprise.
It's also pretty hard to discover because a null argument is literally
invisible.

Rsync Problems, Possible Addressed Bug?
I got this mail from a cronjob and can't figure out what is causing
rsync to crap out on me. I received the message at 5:03, when the cron
job is scheduled to run at 4:00, so total runtime is approximately an
hour.
Machine that is fetching the files is a low-end G3 running Yellowdog
3.01, rsync --version 2.5.5. It has only 128 megs of ram, but isn't
doing anything else. Transfers are

How to stop creation of :Zone.Identifier files?
I'm using Firefox 3.1 nightlies in Wine as my usual browser.
Downloading files always causes the creation of another file of the
same name with ":Zone.Identifier" on it. This is another stream in
NTFS, but of course in ext3 it can only be expressed as another file.
All it contains is a note on which IE security zone the file was
downloaded from.

TF2 with GTX260 and Quad-core Phenom II - what performance?
I have a GTX260 216 core, running the latest Nvidia binary driver(260.xx). I have a Phenom II x4 3.2ghz, and 4GB of DDR3-1600 ram. All in all, not a bad system.
Now, my problem is that no matter what settings I use, I tend to get in the 30-50fps range with DX8.1. Lower if there's a lot of action onscreen. The interesting thing is that my frame-rate doesn't change significantly with
