IMAP clients suddenly redownload folder headers
We had an issue today with IMAP clients (Thunderbird, Outlook) having to
redownload headers for folders. This issue was eerily close to a MySQL
database structure change that shouldn't have affected any related
queries, however we did notice an event of user CPU % not being reported
via SNMP around the same time for the server. There are no entries in
our dovecot error log around the

EVERYONE USING DOVECOT PLEASE SIGN: Thanks, Administrators of Dovecot!
With the release of dovecot 2.0, the community of the Dovecot mailling
list, and us at Shelton Computers, would sincerely like to thank the
developers of Dovecot. For, if it were not for you, we would be stuck
with Courier and would not have the impressive features of Sieve, as
opposed to the unmanageable scripts, by end users, of maildrop.

Sieve: Saving "pristine" messages for backups and spam training
Hello,
I'm trying to work out a way to have my Sieve filter save a "pristine"
version of email messages as a backup, primarily to use for training the
spam filter. I would like is to have every message saved into a single,
site-wide directory (in the global sieve) before being processed
additionally and delivered. The messages in that directory will be used
to train the spam

how to split and handle a big R program into multiple files
I am working on a program totally written in R which is now getting bigger and bigger so that editling the only file that contains all the functions is becoming more and more unmanageable.
I wonder whether it is possible to spread the R code, making up the same program, in a number of smaller files and then call them all, in the right order, through a list of something like the C language

Parsing very large xml datafiles with SAX (XML package): What data structure should I favor?
Hello again,
I have another question related to parsing a very large xml file with SAX:
what kind of data structure should I favor? Unlike using DOM function that
can return lists of relevant nodes and let me use various versions of
'apply', the SAX parsing returns me one thing at a time.
I first tried to simply append to simple solution of appending to lists as
I get the data. But I

You just let Asterisk do the fax detection for you, and when it hears CNG,
send it to the fax extension, and your fax extension would just Dial() one
of the IAXmodems (using IAX)

Tools/mechanisms for the management of access permissions in big filebased datasets
Hello,
we are currently managing access permissions through classical
user-group-others permissions on a multi-petabyte directory tree with
partially very deep and broad directories. Projects are represented by
directory trees and mapped through GIDs. Lately we had lots of
"singular" permission request (one single user needs access to a single
dataset but should not be able to

Any way to limit number of active IMAP/POP3 sessions from a single user / per user?
Hello,
Just wonder: is there any way in Dovecot to limit number of active
IMAP/POP3 connections for a single user, not touching any other users?
Basically, the situation is single user hammering servers by lots of
POP3 connections from time to time, and limiting exactly one user could
be good.

Any way to limit number of active IMAP/POP3 sessions from a single user / per user?
Hello Aki, Timo,
Thanks a lot for your answers. I'll test with setting
mail_max_userip_connections from DB first and tell if it works. If it
does not, I'll go with the policy server.
Again, thanks a lot.

Any way to limit number of active IMAP/POP3 sessions from a single user / per user?
I can confirm setting mail_max_userip_connections from database in
userdb query *does not* work at all. User can still open multiple
connection above the limit, seems like it has no effect. I thoroughly
checked DB response and it contains proper field name/value.
I am using dovecot 2.2.31.
Also, I have mail_max_userip_connections set globally in the dovecot
configuration file and wonder if

Well, this is the target description in the TableGen files, and not
exactly what I was talking about. when available, A9 has VFP3, while
Krait has VFP4.
