Disable SIS
Hi, I'm currently running a small home-server with Dovecot. A long time ago I configured it with SIS enabled. I would like to stop using SIS. If I remove sis from mail_attachment_fs will the old mails that are stored in SIS-storage still be accessible? How can I convert all mailboxes to stop using SIS and store attachments back in the mails? Rgds, N.

Regenerating mdbox/sis
It's apparent I have some level of corruption in my mailboxes - something to do with the combination of mdbox, sis, and zlib. I should note that I know I have a mix of compressed and raw messages - if that makes any difference in identifying the problems. I think I need to somehow regenerate the mailboxes with issues. Is there a suggestion for how to accomplish this? Should I perhaps use

SiS: Attachment file larger than expected
I recently set up SiS and imported a large chunk of mail. I've noticed one or two instances of this in the logs: Mar 28 09:03:50 mail dovecot: imap(xxx at yyy.zz): Error: Attachment file /mailstore/attachments/ce/73/ce737a45fe07495e2ae6466f9e381a30d5ec300406f11269d79bd5608cc0c922-822b3d2df67f8e4d7f5000009501e12a larger than expected (252218) Mar 28 14:52:34 mail dovecot: pop3(zzz at xxx.yy):

Dovecot/doveadm crash
Having a problem with a mailbox. I've been trying to rebuild - but doveadm force-resync crashes. Rsync to backup dbox with SIS
We will be deploying a replacement Dovecot server soon, and we are planning to use maildir for the primary storage, but with an archive namespace using mdbox (or perhaps sdbox), and SIS. Our backup servers and (luke)warm spare server need to obtain full copies of the mail store. For the maildirs I know I can simply use rsync (we already use it here). I'm a little wary of using rsync with

2.1.rc1 (8a63f621bd2e): SiS permission issue + crash
Since changeset 8a63f621bd2e I'm one step closer to the perfect working setup. I'm sharing one GID per domain, all it's alias names and accounts. So I can use: mail_attachment_dir = /srv/mail/.SiS/%{gid} In order to avoid permission trouble I've set fs ACL on the .SiS dir: ,--[ getfacl srv/mail/.SiS ]-- | # file: srv/mail/.SiS | # owner: root | # group: root | user::rwx |

Rebuilding SIS attachment links from log
This seems simple enough...I'm just not script wizard. If someone can throw together a starting point I can test and tweak it from there. It seems to me: 1. Read /var/mail/mail.err or specified logfile 2. For each "failed: read(/var/mail/attachments/aa/bb/attachmentHash-userHash" line, a. Confirm /var/mail/attachments/aa/bb/hashes/attachmentHash exists i. If

Problems setting up SIS (duplicate files with same hash)
Hi everyone, I am currently trying to setup our next dovecot server (2.2.18) with SIS enabled, but I have enconutered 1 problem and 1 question: *1) Same attachment, different filenames* I have a feeling a misconfigured something (or forgot to do something) because SIS almost works, but not quite since 3 identical attachment take 3x the space (see end of email for my SIS config). SIS attachments compressed
Hello: In case it is defined to use zlib compression, does SIS save attachments compressed? I have found this question replied in the past (2012) and the answer was NO. I ask again just to know if there have been changes or if it is in the roadmap to add compression. I have been testing to migrate from maildir+zlib to mdbox+zlib+sis and the results, in terms of space used, and worst than

SiS does not work
How do you do. I have tried to use SiS to deduplicate attachments in mail storage. Unsuccesful. When goes mail with reasonable size, and SiS try to start, I have receive error, when this mail must be delivered for group of receivers (i.e. through aliases).
