FreeBSD 9.1-PRERELEASE
Hi,
In this mailinglist I'm reading a lot about problems (re)compiling the system. At this moment I'm running:
"FreeBSD 9.1-PRERELEASE (ORAC) #0 r244047: Sun Dec 9 15:33:19 CET 2012" without problems.
Is it save to recompile the system with all patches?
Thanks

OGG stream drops after every couple/few tracks
Hi all,
First question on this list - I am running into issues with my embedded
OGG stream players (so far I've used ffmp3 and just today started trying
jlgui), and honestly I'm not sure what's up. I'm hoping someone would be
kind enough to help me figure it out.
Basically, I have a setup that pulls a number of OGG files from MPD (all
the same bitrate/etc AFAIK)
In ffmp3, when

megatec_usb and "fry's" UPS
Gidday all - I've got a 1700VA dynamix UPS which is USB.
The previous model (with a serial port) worked wonderfully with megatec,
but this new one with USB is not working.
It feels like the kernel is not handing the USB device properly.
The web has not yeilded any useful info.
What can I do from here?

CLI History
What's wrong with the Asterisk CLI history? When I exit the CLI, and re-enter, the last command in the history always defaults to 'stop now'. This is very bad, and it's caused accidental shutdowns more than once.

problems with smbpasswd in samba-2.0.2+ (repost)
I sent the following message to the list nearly two weeks ago
and didn't receive a single response. In fact, I haven't received
any replies to the last 3-4 questions I have asked (over the
past 6 months). Maybe it is my wording??? I see the messages
in the digest, so I know they are going to the list. :-)
I have no right to complain and only cause to be very happy

Failed to join domain: failed to lookup DC info for domain '<EXAMPLE.COM>' over rpc: The object name is not found.
Hello,
I've been trying to add a new server to my Samba 4 Active directory, but I've been failing so far. I'm running the command "net ads join -k" and it fails with "Failed to join domain: failed to lookup DC info for domain '<EXAMPLE.COM>' over rpc: The object name is not found." The answers I found so far imply a problem with the RPC service, but

For the record, this looks like the older generation of streamTranscoder

[PATCH] Allow matching HostName against Host entries
It would be useful to allow matching HostName entries against Host
entries. That's to say, I would find it very convenient to have an
ssh_config like:
Host zeus
HostName zeus.greek.gods
User hades
Host hera
HostName hera.greek.gods
# [ ... ]
Host *.greek.gods
User poseidon
UserKnownHostsFile ~/.ssh/known_hosts.d/athens

Replication errors with LDAP and problems with NT machines
Hi all!
I work as a computer technician for a small school and have recently
upgraded our network to use samba servers. Our main computers are a PDC,
a BDC, a file server and a backup server, all using Red Hat Fedora Core
3 as a base. The clients on our network consist of machines with Windows
XP and a few with Windows NT.
Everything seems to work just fine except for some minor but annoying

SIP with Qualify and NAT
Hi guys,
I'm having a really strange problem, which I'm pretty sure has only
appeared since my last upgrade (1.2.12.1) .
It's about NAT and Qualify. I'm using Asterisk to register with some
external SIP providers. However, they're always marked as UNREACHABLE,
when they weren't before!
A typical debug looks like this:
hera*CLI> sip reload
