Xen on Dell PowerEdge 1850 with Perc 4e/Si controller
Hello, I am having issues making my box boot with Xen. I am working with linux-2.6.16.28-xen on a gentoo box. The server is Dell PowerEdge 1850 with Perc 4e/Si, FW 521X. When dom0 reaches the point of scanning the SCSI controllers, it hangs in a loop aic7xxx_dev_reset_returns 0x2002. My regular (non-xen) kernels come up fine with detecting my adaptec scsi controller. Had anyone had the same

CentOS4 and older megaraid
Release notes say no support for the RAID card in a box I just picked up...is there no hope for this box running 2.6 kernel? http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/enterprise/RHEL-4-Manual/release- notes/as-x86/ The kernel shipped with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 includes the new megaraid_mbox driver from LSI Logic, which replaces the megaraid driver. The megaraid_mbox driver has an improved design,

Help with megaraid_mbox driver
Hi All, I've built a custom CD based on CentOS 4.2. An OOB CentOS 4.2 disk will detect the megaraid (Perc4) card in a Dell 1850/2850, and load properly. My version does not. I have checked, and the original shipping kernel for CentOS contains the same megaraid_mbox driver as the updated kernel that is on my CD. Basically, my CD removed some RPMS, and added others for a custom

megaraid/PERC
I've got two drives from a now-dead server, they were RAIDed, a mirror, I'd assume. I need to see if there's anything on them I need to transfer to the replacement, so I just shoved them into another Dell server, with a PERC 5 controller - I think that's what the dead one had. I fired up MegaRAID storage manager... but can't see any way to tell it to recreate that RAID. Anyone

Xen3.0, LSI MegaRaid, Debian
Hello, Problem: Debian(linux-image-xen-686) Dom0 does not boot from LSI MegaRaid I''m sorry, because I don''t know if I''m at the right place to ask for a solution for my problem, because it might be Debian related. Nethertheless I try: Xen Kernel are in Debian Unstable for a month or so. I''m running an Etch (testing) machine here and I wanted to try out

SCSI drives and Centos 7
Everyone, about 4 years ago, I tried to install CentOS 6 on a Supermicro server with SCSI drives using a LSI raid system. I could never figure out or find a way to make the installation disc of Centos 6 identify the SCSI drives. The installation disc for Centos 5 identified the SCSI drives without a problem. I finally gave up on Centos 6 and installed Centos 5 and the system has worked very

Dell 1950 Perc 6/i with centos 4.5
We are currently running CentOS 4.5 on older Dell Systems. We are upgrading to Dell PowerEdge 1950 with a PERC 6/i raid controller. CentOS 4.5 installation does not see the PERC 6/i controller. Dell and LSI Logic only support RHEL 4U6 and higher and SuSe. I've tried building the boot images with the new driver for installation but kickstart still doesn't see the raid controller.

Problem with Dell Poweredge 1850
All, I seem to be experiencing the same problem that Michal Urbanski talked about in an email dated March 24th with a subject of "hanging dell hardware". Looking through the archives I can not find any resolution to the problem. The specs on my machine are Dell Poweredge 1850 Dual Xeon 2.8s 1gig ram PERC 4e/SI raid controller in mirror configuration with 2 73 gb drives (uses the

Centos-4 Kernel pannic
Hi all, We are running a new Centos-4 server, and it has kernel panicked on us 4 times in the last month. After the first kernel panic we hooked up a serial console to the server and captured the output in order to have a record of what happens. I've included the error messages from the last time it locked up... but it doesn't really mean much to me. Anybody have any ideas what might be
