Setting ACLs fail
Hi,
when I try to Left-Click-Properties on any file or directory on my
samba-server (named fileserver, my PDC) and select the "security"-tab, all
acls are listed as before the upgrade from 3.0.21b to 3.0.23, but when I
click on "Add" I get the following error:
'The program cannot open the required dialog box

Yup, I'd looked at those, but still left not understanding all of the options. And you gave a doveadm command, which I appreciate very much, but surprises me since the materials in the ACL wiki page are

List shared folders
Good morning!
I run an imap-only Ubuntu 8.04 mail server with dovecot 1.2 and
pam_ldap, so all my users are posix users. No virtual user or domain, no
sql so far. I am setting up shared folders with "namespace shared". I
got no errors upon restarting the service, but I get no shared folders
listing.
As per the wiki http://wiki.dovecot.org/SharedMailboxes/Shared I can use

Configuring Shared Mailbox Dictionaries
Hello, list!
I am in the midst of configuring a new Dovecot IMAP server, and I'm
preparing to setup shard mailboxes as part of the ocnfiguration. In
order to get these setup the way I want, I've figured out that I'm going
to have to setup an acl_shared_dict. This is where things start to get
confusing for me, as I have had difficulty finding thorough explanations

Issue sharing folders with Thunderbird
Hi Aki I see what you are saying, and no I don?t believe so. I?m using typical /etc/passwd for the user db. I reviewed https://wiki.dovecot.org/UserDatabase/ExtraFields <https://wiki.dovecot.org/UserDatabase/ExtraFields> but I?m not clear on how to actually return system_user userdb attribute.
I also have set mail_user_groups = sharedusers in dovecot.conf and then in /etc/group put all

/etc/group localed in /var/spool/public as a maildir with subfolders for

[Configuration question] Shared Folders: sql dict - missing information
Hello Community,
I have implemented shared folders/acl using the 'file' driver sucessfully.
Now, I want to move the shared folders information to my sql DB where I
have moved all user/nets/quota information.
I have read carefully the documentation
(https://wiki.dovecot.org/SharedMailboxes/Shared), but, as far as I can
see, only the $to and $from (+ dummy) are handled in the DB?

Thunderbird and shared mailboxes
I'm setting up shared mailboxes as in
http://wiki.dovecot.org/SharedMailboxes/Shared, and have set ACLs as
described on that page to share one folder of user A's mailbox with User B.
However, I'm struggling to get Thunderbird for userb at example.com to read
the shared folder of usera at example.com. Has anyone done this?

Thanks,

Shared mailboxes unix permissions
Hello Timo,
I'm running dovecot-1.2.11/Maildir and plan to migrate to single UID mailboxes
some day, but for now, I've got "system" users and I'm testing permissions
handling in order to set up shared mailboxes.
The private namespace mailboxes location is
location = maildir:/courriel/boites/%u:CONTROL=/courriel/meta/%u:INDEX=/var/dovecot-test/indexes/%1u/%u

format of file dict
For shared (between users) mailboxes, I am using a file dict.
plugin {
acl_shared_dict = file:/etc/dovecot/acl_shared_dict/shared.db
}
What is the format of this file? I would like to manage it directly
rather than have SETACL update it. I see lines which describe a
sharing entry (the format of those looks obvious) but also lines
with just a '1'.
Do I just need to separate entries

Mailbox suddenly inaccessible
Hi,
out of the sudden I've an inaccessible folder with Dovecot 2.2.27

However, it is not accessible any more, my IMAP client tells me:

Is there any more detailed docs about dict configuration

I am looking for some help on dict configration. I'm trying to config
shared and public mailbox, and use sql as acl backend.
Here is my config:

`from_user` char(50) NOT NULL,
`to_user` char(50) NOT NULL,

flat file in tmpfs for dict quota
I'm using dict quota like so:
quota = dict:User quota::file:/[path]/quotas/%u
[path]/quotas/ is a tmpfs.
The idea is to do less work on disk. Other than forcing dovecot to
rebuild quotas on a reboot, are there any downsides?
Thanks,
Ken
