Init.d boot scripts??
Hello, Trying to figure out how to get dovecot to startup at boot. I saw the Ubuntu script on the dovecot site, but that didn't work on my system (SuSe 10.2). Of course, copying the /usr/local/sbin/dovecot file into /etc/init.d doesn't work at all. Any one have working SuSe script?? Rodman

2 root disks sdb1,sdc1; if set "root=/dev/sdc1", mtab lies saying sdb1 is root!?
I have 2 SCSI disks each w/a RH 7.3 ext3 root filesystem: /dev/sdb1, and /dev/sdc1. /dev/sda1 is an old RH4.2 root filesystem. (sdb1 was created as an image of sdc1 using dd.) I have no problem booting from a SYSLINUX 1.52 floppy with SYSLINUX.CFG containing "append initrd=initrd.img root=/dev/sdb1". When I alter SYSLINUX.CFG with: "append initrd=initrd.img root=/dev/sdc1".

Slow connections with POP3 service
Hi All, I am facing a very strange issue with the pop3 server for the past one week. I run my mail service using sendmail & use UW-IMAP for POP3 & IMAP service. We have around 5000 users. Suddenly for the past one week I am facing very slow connections for POP3 alone on that server. Other services such as SMTP, IMAP, telnet, ssh etc work fine. Assuming that UW-IMAP may have an

Suddenly getting lots of "Unable to send packet: Address Family mismatch between source/destination" but ONLY on 1 of 2 VPSs in same datacentre.
Two VPSs. Identical setups with the exception of the extension. Same version of everything, Asterisk 14.1, Ubuntu 16.10, same firewall rules and so on - box 2 was cloned from box 1. Both VPSs run in the same datacentre. Suddenly, after weeks of OK, I'm getting lots of this on ONE box only: [Nov 4 21:23:04] NOTICE[1468]: res_hep.c:466 hep_queue_cb: Unable to send packet: Address Family

dtrace reports different counts depending on what is being traced
We are using following dtrace script to analyze an application. However we see different number of lwp_yield and yield calls reported depending on whether we trace mutex_lock or mutex_unlock or not. The number reported when we are not tracing mutex_lock or mutex_unlock is higher. What could be going on here and which one is the correct number. This is on S10 U2. Thanks, Rao.

Converting HVM to PV kernel CentOS7
Thanks for the reply. If we want to have PV kernel for CentOs 7 , are there any guidelines to follow? How we can know before hand itself that this kernel is PV or HVM, without installing kernel? But, When I tried to find the openssl-0.9.8zd rpm package, I did not find it in http://mirror.centos.org/centos/5/updates/x86_64/RPMS/. The

Regarding CVE-2015-1781 vulnerability in Glibc
Thanks for the reply. Where can we get the info regarding whether its fixed in CentOS 5 or not? I did rpm -q --changelog <glibc> | grep <CVE> but I dont find any info on this. This might means 3 things. 1. The version is not affected so no fix 2. The version is affected, still no fix 3. Fix applied, but not shown in o/p Thanks On Fri, Jun 5, 2015 at 2:06 PM, John Tall <mjtallx
