Init.d boot scripts??
Hello, Trying to figure out how to get dovecot to startup at boot. I saw the Ubuntu script on the dovecot site, but that didn't work on my system (SuSe 10.2). Of course, copying the /usr/local/sbin/dovecot file into /etc/init.d doesn't work at all. Any one have working SuSe script?? Rodman

2 root disks sdb1,sdc1; if set "root=/dev/sdc1", mtab lies saying sdb1 is root!?
I have 2 SCSI disks each w/a RH 7.3 ext3 root filesystem: /dev/sdb1, and /dev/sdc1. /dev/sda1 is an old RH4.2 root filesystem. (sdb1 was created as an image of sdc1 using dd.) I have no problem booting from a SYSLINUX 1.52 floppy with SYSLINUX.CFG containing "append initrd=initrd.img root=/dev/sdb1". When I alter SYSLINUX.CFG with: "append initrd=initrd.img root=/dev/sdc1".

Suddenly getting lots of "Unable to send packet: Address Family mismatch between source/destination" but ONLY on 1 of 2 VPSs in same datacentre.
Two VPSs. Identical setups with the exception of the extension. Same version of everything, Asterisk 14.1, Ubuntu 16.10, same firewall rules and so on - box 2 was cloned from box 1. Both VPSs run in the same datacentre. Suddenly, after weeks of OK, I'm getting lots of this on ONE box only: [Nov 4 21:23:04] NOTICE[1468]: res_hep.c:466 hep_queue_cb: Unable to send packet: Address Family

Slow connections with POP3 service
Hi All, I am facing a very strange issue with the pop3 server for the past one week. I run my mail service using sendmail & use UW-IMAP for POP3 & IMAP service. We have around 5000 users. Suddenly for the past one week I am facing very slow connections for POP3 alone on that server. Other services such as SMTP, IMAP, telnet, ssh etc work fine. Assuming that UW-IMAP may have an

Periodic rogue 3.0.22 smbd's eating system
I have three users whose smbd processes will suddenly go rogue and start sucking up CPU time. It isn't guaranteed that every time they log in, that their process goes rogue, but it happens a lot. At that time I see that those smbd processes have an effective UID of the person's username, and a real UID of root. Everyone else's is always EUID root and UID root. I haven't a clue

Rogue child imap processes when using Mac imap clients
hi all- I am currently running dovecot 0.99.10p2 on OpenBSD-3.4-snapshot. It has been very stable, but I have recently noticed that I am having problems when checking IMAP-SSL mail with Mac OS X clients. There are not problems using Mozilla or Outlook on Windows, but Mac clients (Thunderbird, Mozilla, Mail.app) all exhibit the same behavior - they can check and send mail, but I end up with a

Error on man page
Hi I discovered a similar problem early this week and a colleage on irc was told it was a copy and paste error. in man syslogd, the following can be found: Sucker rod def. -- 3/4, 7/8 or 1in. hardened steel rod, male threaded on each end. Primary use in the oil industry in Western North Dakota and other locations to pump 'suck' oil from oil wells. Sec- ondary

[LLVMdev] llvm wiki now a spamfarm
Hi, > If we don't have someone willing to maintain and administrate the wiki, we need to take it down. Any volunteers? I think the wiki is a pretty good place to let people contribute their knowledge about llvm. What things a maintainer need to do? FBSD 9.2 RC crashes running as virtualbox host
Hi, after updating my freebsd amd64 box from 9.1 (r250841) to 9.2-RC (r254276) virtualbox crashes the machine. Seconds after starting VBOX the screen freezes and then reboots (probably a trap, cannot see it, as screen is in graphics mode). The kernel modules of vbox have been recompiled. Going back to 9.1 kernel and matching vbox modules works. In both cases VBOX 4.2.16 is used. cheers, Thomas

Client Uses Impostor DC
Hi, We have two domain controllers running Ubuntu 12.04 and Samba 4.0.6-Debian. The other day, we had a user set up a Windows Server 2012 computer on our development network for testing. This user chose to set up his Windows server as DC, DHCP server, DNS server, and more, for a new domain that he gave the same name as our production domain (let's say both domains are named

[LLVMdev] CLang issue: Weird crashes in _Unwind_resume?
I have this project that I can't see how to boil down into a cut down illustration of the problem as it requires a large 3rd party library (ITK www.itk.org), and the problem is actually triggered in that library. But here is the problem: If you compile ITK and the program, it will segfault in _Unwind_resume at the end of a class method. If you build with GCC (4.6.1 in this case) the program

Using Intel Quick-Sync with GPU capable Intel CPUs
Rogue S.T asked about checking out graphics cards which brought the question to me... Is it possible to make Intel on-CPU GPU resources to Windows 10? (the box I'm working with has Xeon E5-2640v4 CPUs which should be QuickSync capable) What else do I have to do to take advantage of this? Just load the drivers? Thanks,  -Ben

HP L7780 support in hplip 1.6.7???
Alle, I have an HP L7780 MFP, which is supported under hplip 1.7.2 but not the current install of 1.6.7. Does anyone know of a way just to add that particular driver to 1.6.7, or will it require removing the standard 1.6.7 and doing a custom install of 1.7.2. If the latter, what would you consider the dangers/other implications of going "rogue"? Best Regards, Camron -- Camron W.
