How to unsubscribe
As pointed out already by several emails before, a) mail to dovecot-unsubscribe at dovecot.org (which will unsubscribe instead of temporarily disable delivery) b) go to https://https://dovecot.org/mailman/listinfo/dovecot and click unsubscribe, don't change your delivery options to notmail. unable to send mails via postfix/dovecot SASL
Hello, I have a freshly setup postfix/dovecot mail server (after a server upgrade I decided to change my sendmail/popper conf to something more modern :) It mostly works, there is no problem in sending/receiving mails in local network, both using text clients like mutt or pine dealing with the incoming/outcoming mail directly. Also dovecot works fine with SSL authentication from the outside

Bug#588839: Bug#588839: pv-grub removed ?
pv-grub is also the best/only way to run hurd under xen: http://www.gnu.org/software/hurd/microkernel/mach/gnumach/ports/xen.html#index4h1 it's also the best way by far to run netbsd without a separate /boot Cheers, Brian Szymanski -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Clients show .subscriptions folder
Since upgrading from dovecot-2.1.rc1 to dovecot-2.1.rc3, some clients are showing a .subscriptions file in the user's mbox path as a folder. Some clients such as T'bird on Mac OS X create this file listing subscribed mbox files. Other clients such as T'bird on Windows XP show this file as a folder in the folder list even though it cannot be accessed as a folder (dovecot returns CANNOT

Dovecot Wiki: Orphaned page on mbox locking
The following shows up in the "orphaned page" list of the Wiki: http://wiki.dovecot.org/MboxLocking?action=show&redirect=MboxSoftwareLocks Does the description of Dovecot mbox locking still apply to current versions? If yes, it should be linked from the "Troubleshooting" page. -- Jim Garrison (jhg at acm.org) PGP Keys at http://www.jhmg.net RSA 0x04B73B7F DH 0x70738D88

locking questions
I have Dovecot 1.0 in trial use by the IT staff, and have some locking questions Background, the mail server runs procmail, sendmail and NFS exports the user homedir and mailbox to a) a login shell host and b) a mailing list services host. It runs UWIMAP on the usual ports and dovecot on a arbitrary port number. Because of concern with NFS and file access contention. I have the following

Centos 7 guest - long delay on mounting /boot with host disk write cache off
Hello, I've noticed a strange delay while booting a CentOS 7 guest on a CentOS 7 host with slow disks (7200RPM) with write cache off. The guest and host are freshly installed Centos 7 (host was fully patched before guest install). Guest is installed on an lvm pool residing on an md raid1 with two SATA 7200 RPM drives with their write caches off. The delay is on mounting /boot, the dmesg

Lock ups: recent, anybody else?
Yesterday, did the following. Two lockups since then. Recent freetype had just cured some anomalies and now this. One lock while I slept, the other a few moments ago while active at the KB. Had Evolution, Firefox and T'bird open among two users on a single X console. No unusual stuff. Desktop install, fully up-to-date 4.3, i386 (Athalon). 1) see anything wrong below? 2) I'm seriously

Flaky desktop audio behavior.
Might have some kind of bug here. I want to know if anybody else is seeing this. It's happened twice now, so I should be able to repeat it. $ rpm -q centos-release centos-release-5-2.el5.centos On my desktop, I "su -" to another user. Then "nohup thunderbird", it gets the mail and plays the announcement. ISTM this is an error right off the bat as this user is not the

Migrating from mbox to maildir: Message ordering?
Hi, all. I have been playing with the notion of migrating some of my folders to maildir because it's a lot easier to manage that way from a reader standpoint. The big question I have is how do I maintain message ordering in each folder? When I use a mail program to do the migration from mbox to maildir, selecting "order received ascending", it works nicely, but one very small
