Re: [CSL #329283] centosplus XFS bug?
We're running a mix of ext3 and xfs file systems on CentOS 4
workstations at our site. We have benefitted greatly from the increased
performance and fast (crash recovery) reboot times that we get from
xfs. We're currently running CentOS kernel 2.6.9-42.0.8.EL and xfs
version 0.2-1.
We have one host where we've got issues. It's a (very) busy imap server
with external scsi hardware

xfs and centosplus kernel
I read that XFS has problems with 4K Stack size for Linux on 32-bit
systems. How did we address this in the centosplus kernel? Since what
release of CentOS was this problem resolved?
Is there a quick way to know what size the Linux stack is configured to be
in a system's that's running?
Thanks for your help.

CentOS 5 - base kernel vs. centosplus for XFS
I notice that the same versions of kmod-xfs and xfsprogs etc. are in
both the extras and centosplus repositories for centos5.
Is there any particular reason to use the centosplus kernel if what
I'm primarily interested in is XFS filesystem support?
I presume that if I am using the plus kernel, then I must use the plus
versions of kmod-xfs etc., but I'm wondering whether I need the plus

Can't find repository for centosplus
While trying to get my SD card reader to work with CentOS, it was
recommended to me that I update to the centosplus kernel.
I attempted to do so using yum, as was recommended, but I
encountered the following error:
[root at localhost ~]# yum --enablerepo=centosplus update kernel
Repository update already added, not adding again

Small correction in CentOSPlus (AdditionalResources/Repositories/CentOSPlus)
Hi,
Small correction there.
Example 4 of section 2 (how to use XFS with CentOSPlus kernel) says
you should use this configuration line in [centosplus] section of yum:
includepkgs=kernel* xfs* dmapi*
However, the XFS module's package name is kmod-xfs*, so I believe it
should actually be:
includepkgs=kernel* kmod-xfs* xfs* dmapi*
I did this on a system of mine, and in the first case it did

centosplus + priority plugin
I have a Centos 4 box that has been updated all the way to 4.6 without
using the centosplus repository.
Now I want to use the centosplus repository for Centos 4 to get the
latest LAMP, mod_perl, perl and other perl modules so that I can install
rt 3.6.6 and its necessary modules.
However, for some reason, the latest perl package in the centosplus
repository does not appear on the radar when

centosplus kernel
Just for the record, we are currently working with someone from SGI to
get a much better implementation of XFS working with the centosplus
kernel.
I want to wait to push the centosplus unsupported kernel (2.6.9-22)
until we have this new and much more stable version of XFS code
implemented.

centosplus kernel not up to date ?
Is it possible that the kernel in the centosplus repo is not up to date ?
The centosplus kernel I have is kernel-PAE-2.6.18-238.5.1.el5 and the
regular one is 2.6.18-238.9.1.el5...
I need the plus because of the firewire drivers.

CentOSPlus: What happened to Postgresql?
I've been using Postgresql 8.1 on CentOS X86/64 for a about a month, but the
RPMs seem to have vanished from CentOS Plus!
Are these to no longer be supported?

centosplus and contrib rpms
hi,
it'd be useul if the centosplus and contrib directory can contain a
small readme file or some kind of documentaion about the rpm inside.
currently there is not any kind of such docs (ok johnny send a
description about the kernel rpms, but if someone missed that email). eg
the postfix rpm has the same description and changelog inside the rpm as
the original ones. if someone just look into
