problem with convert-tool: "Invalid mailbox name"
Hello everyone.
I'm having a problem with convert-tool while trying to convert mbox
folders to maildir.
I'm running dovecot-1.1.16 on Centos 5.3
If the user has subfolders, convert-tool fails saying:
"Mailbox conversion: Couldn't create mailbox sub/folder3: Invalid mailbox name"
However, if I ran the convert-tool with the same arguments and same
folders with dovecot

shared folders in v1.2 with one uid per user
Hello everyone.
I'm new to dovecot and I'm setting up a server for one domain only. I
have not yet decided whether I will be using one uid per user or one
uid for all of them.
What are the steps for correctly setting up shared folders with acls
if I choose one uid per user?
What advantages or disadvantages has setting one uid for all users vs
one uid per user, considering I wish to

Shortcomings of Maildir++ layout

Definitely wrong.
Appending .dir to directories and .folder to folder files keeps files
completely distinct and name collissions are not possible.

Maildir++ and fs-layout
Dear All,
can I use Maildir++ Layout for private namespace and fs-layout for public
namespace on the same server, provided that the hierarchy separator is the
same (.)?
Are all parts of dovecot (especially deliver, sieve and lmtp) compatible
with fs-layout? Are there any restrictions I have to obey?

Shortcomings of Maildir++ layout
Hi,
I am trying to deal with the problem, that under regular mbox format a
path can lead to either a file or a directory, but not both, while under
IMAP, a path is usually both, a message folder containing subfolders.
I found dovecot's approach to this problem, the Maildir++ layout
described under http://wiki2.dovecot.org/MboxChildFolders , and was
astonished to see, what problems come with

LAYOUT=maildir++ under mbox?
Whilst documenting LAYOUT=maildir++ under dbox, that got me thinking:
Can we specify :LAYOUT=maildir++ with mbox?
If I have it right, this should then remove the problem of not being
able to have messages and mail subfolders in the same mail folder.
So for example if we had mail location specified as:
mail_location = mbox:~/mail:LAYOUT=maildir++
we would have files:
~/mail/inbox - file

Converting layouts
Hello,
I'm using dovecot 1.2.10 with mbox format (which implies layout=fs)
and I would like to switch to maildir++ layout without changing format
in order to implement subfolders for IMAP users. I understand that I
should move the INDEX location to avoid some namespace conflict (it
would be a good idea anyway: I'll move them on another disc :).
Now I have

Samba4 AD/DC Replication
Hi folks!
I'm having some trouble replicating a domain.
I followed the steps in this guide:
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba4/HOWTO/Join_a_domain_as_a_DC
I followed the steps and everything worked fine for me.
but...
If I make changes on the PDC, these changes are replicated to the Secondary
DC, but if I make changes to the Secondary, these are not seen in the PDC.
Is there any way

It should be mentioned somehow that one can't just change the hierarchy
separator on the fly (without manual changes to the fs).
If you used . as the separator, it would look this in the filesystem:
.testfolder.sub1
Now you change the separator to $.
Your mail client will see the existing

PROBLEM WITH PRINTERS.
Hi people, I have a print server using Debian, LPRNG and SAMBA working
without any problems. Now I 'm trying to set up a new server with
CentOS 6, CUPS and SAMBA.
It 's a very simple setup: a few local users and a few printers,
nothing special. The clients also map the printer using 'net use lpt1
\\mainserver\printerX' because they need to print over an old DOS
application.

Dovecot - Issue with Maildir++ quotas
Hi,
I've been bitten by an issue running Squirrelmail on top of Dovecot
using Maildir++ quotas.
Having configured these quotas in Dovecot, I notice that Dovecot
appears not to exclude the 'Trash' folder from its quota calculation
(which it should do, according to the Maildir++ spec). Unfortunately
this breaks Squirrelmail if I try to delete a message from a
close-to-quota

[RFC] VSOCK: add support for MSG_PEEK
Hi Matias,
thanks for this patch!
Since this patch only concerns virtio_transport,
I'd use the 'vsock/virtio' prefix in the commit title:
"vsock/virtio: add support for MSG_PEEK"

fine, except for one thing: i use Maildir++ format, but i don't know how
to make the file maildirsize into the home of the users. This file is
needed by me becouse i have a
