dovecot auth(default): Master request xxxx.xxxx not found
Hi, Wondering if anyone could give some indication as to where to look for the cause of the following error messages. These error messages seem to occur at about the time when users are having problems logging in. Jun 8 10:33:19 host dovecot: auth(default): Master request xxxx.xxxx not found Using ldap for authentication and auth_cache is enabled, not sure if that matters. Thank you! --

child (login) killed with signal 9
Hi, I'm running dovecot on an Ubuntu server (1:1.0.5-1ubuntu2). Dovecot provides pop3, imap, and sasl to postfix. The setup works quite nicely, however I do have one error that shows up repeatedly in my dovecot.log. <snip> dovecot: 2007-12-12 09:29:06 Error: child 32765 (login) killed with signal 9 dovecot: 2007-12-12 09:29:06 Error: child 18039 (login) killed with signal 9 dovecot:

SSL errors
I have a Dovecot server set up as a proxy and getting a ton of these errors, but I'm not sure where to begin troubleshooting it. I'm hearing frequently that Outlook users who use IMAP with SSL are getting disconnected often as a result. Any suggestions?... voronoi tessellations
Okay, been working with tripack, seems the most mature package for this. Got it to work well with their test data set - data(tritest). When i tried random numbers to explore further, i am getting some results that don't reconcile. example run this: library(tripack) y <- runif(100) x <- runif(100) vm <- voronoi.mosaic(x,y) plot(vm) par(new=T) plot(x,y,col='blue') when

Converting mbox to Maildir, all prior read messages are downloaded as new
I am running dovecot 0.99. Everything works great; however, now I am looking at several different tools to convert mbox to Maildir. It seems the tools, mb2md.pl, perfect_maildir.pl, and others all do what they claim; however, when the messages are converted and they are stored in Maildir/cur, the email clients download these messages as new. This typically wouldn't be a problem;

Upgrade to v2.0 conf file fails
Hi, I am trying to use the command: doveconf -n -c dovecot-1.conf > dovecot-2.conf to upgrade my dovecot.conf file, but it fails (see below). Judging from the message that vsz_limit is the new setting for login_process_size, I have retried using login_process_size=256 rather than login_process_size=64 (which was the initial value), but the error persists. Please advise. Thanks, Nick

mbox bug in 1.0.0
Hi folks. We're moving users from rc24 and 27 to 1.0.0. expire plugin doesn't find mail location
Hi! After searching for hours now, I give up and have to ask here. I try to use the expire plugin but it always tries to expire my mails instead of the mails of the user. I read about the "Mail location setting problem (v1.1-v1.2) and configured a "mail" extra field in the userdb, but that doesn't have the effect I want. I have not idea, what I could try out more, so I ask

Email client dowloads previously read messages as new during migration.
I am migrating from UW to dovecot and using mbox. I have been able to find mbox to maildir migration information and tools; however, I have had little luck finding any tool or information for performing such a migration where I wish to keep mbox. ( I know I should migrate to MailDir, but in the case I wish to take baby steps.) I have setup dovecot pop3 communication and I go to my email client

Dovecot broken with newer OpenSSL
After updating my system from OpenSSL 0.9.8j to 0.9.8k Dovecot has stopped functioning properly with TLS sessions. The version of Dovecot does not seem to matter as I tried 1.1.11 - 1.1.14. Other programs using SSL/TLS such as Postfix and lightty still work fine when built with the newer release of OpenSSL. The IMAP client doesn't matter. For the time being I have gone back to .13 linked

dhcpd logging to dhcpd.log only
I've added this to my dhcpd.conf log-facility local6; and added this to my syslog.conf local6.* /var/log/dhcpd.log It's still writing to dhcpd info to both log files. How do I stop this. I've googled but all suggested modifications I've made to the dhcpd.conf causes dhcpd to not start. Thanks Dan

Dovecot 1.1.11 failing to accept SSL/TLS connections
Greetings - We are running Dovecot 1.1.11 on our servers and have been gradually migrating people off our old (UW-based) systems onto the new (Dovecot-based) ones. As a result the new systems are seeing more connections from more people. We have started seeing problems reported by users of our webmail service that they are getting an error indicating the webmail software (Prayer) has failed to

login_process_size too small on x86_64 Fedora/RHEL
Hello, as described in [253363], login_process_size of 32M is not enough on 64-bit versions of Fedora and RHEL (and possibly other distributions as well). [253363] https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=253363 As I understand it, there's an intersegment gap between read-only/executable and writable segments of shared libs. That's probably a security feature or something. I found a
