Restricting access by time of day in Shorewall?
I''m currently using Shorewall 3.4.1 to manage a firewall for my LAN at home. It works very well, and I''m definitely pleased, but . . . . I now have a situation where I need to enforce access restrictions on a specific computer during specific times of day -- e.g., a particular computer might have no Internet access at all between 10 PM and 6 AM. Is there any way to do such a

Capability problems dovecot 2.0
Hi, I had some problems connecting TB 2.x with dovecot 2.0. TB2 complained about not being an IMAP4 server. TB 3 worked. It seems that dovecot 2.0 doesn't return capabilities when queried. Maybe some wrong config, thoug? Here are the debug logs from TB2 comparing dovecot 2.0 (not working) and dovecot 1.2 (working): Dovecot 2.0: NA:CreateNewLineFromSocket: * OK [CAPABILITY IMAP4rev1

Replication fails with "Remote dsync doesn't use compatible protocol"
I can't get replication to work in Dovecot 2.2.1. I'm getting the following error on the machine where I'm initiating the replication: richatwork dovecot: doveadm: Error: dsync-remote(richatwork): Error: dsync(local): Remote dsync doesn't use compatible protocol Both the local and remote servers are running identical versions of Dovecot (2.2.1), so I don't understand why I

heatmap help
Dear R wizards, Hopeful someone can help me with what I believe is a pretty simple task. I pretty new to R so some (much) of the obvious escapes me. How do I get a distance matrix into heatmap? What do I tell distfun if what I'm trying to map is already an ordered distance matrix? I tried >heatmap(x, distfun=as.dist(x)) where x is the distance matrix but R gave me an error. Thanks in

replace a value in a vector
OK, so this is a really stupid question and should be incredibly simple to do but I can't figure it out. So maybe someone would be so kind as to tell me. I have a vector of zeros and ones. I want to replace all of the zeros with "black" and all of the ones with "gray". That's it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Paul `-:-. ,-;"`-:-. ,-;"`-:-.

Age of an object?
It would be nice to have a date stamp on an object. In S/Splus this was always available, because objects were files. I have looked around, but I presume this information is not available. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Trevor Hastie hastie at stanford.edu Professor, Department of Statistics, Stanford University Phone:

Logistic/Cox regression: Parameter estimates directly from model matrix
Hi out there Is there a way to get the estimated coefficients in a logistic / Cox regression without having to specify a 'formula' but by only giving the model matrix? Example for Cox regression: ## predictors n <- 50 q1 <- rnorm(n) q2 <- rgamma(n, 2, 2) Z <- cbind(q1, q2) ## response ttf <- rexp(n) tf <- round(runif(n)) ## compute estimates res <- coxph(Surv(ttf,

FP growth in R?
Does anyone know of an R interface to Christian Borgelt's implementation of the FP growth algorithm? thanks a lot Rob Tibshirani -- I get so much email that I might not reply to an incoming email, just because it got lost. So don't hesitate to email me again. The probability of a reply should increase. Prof. Robert Tibshirani ?Depts of Health Research and Policy, and Statistics

Leopard Macs using Kerberos: Failed to parse negTokenTarg
I think I've found out why MacOS 10.5.x (Leopard) clients are unable to connect to Samba shares when authenticating with Kerberos. Basically, the Leopard Macs insert a few extra bytes (Padding and reqFlags, according to wireshark) into the security blob within the Session Setup AndX Request packet, bytes whose start tag is 0xa1, in a spot where Samba's parser expects 0xa2. The critical

Looking for way to monitor dsync, confirm it is or isn't running
I am syncing two Dovecot sites using the dsync function. I would like to be able to run some sort of periodic health check to confirm that dsync is (or is not) running properly between the two sites, and alert me if dsync is failing or lagging excessively. Does anyone know of a tool to do this? (If possible, something I can set up to run periodically in Nagios?) Thanks for any suggestions.
