Help Getting Postfix relaying via Gmail
Hi,
I am trying to get a CentOS 6 system relaying mail via my G-Mail account.
I followed the instructions found at
https://www.zulius.com/how-to/set-up-postfix-with-a-remote-smtp-relay-host/but
there seems to be a problem with authentication. I have done some
research but still can't get this working. Any suggestions ? It seems the
user and password are correct.

Apple mail fails with Submission
Hi,
Below, you have only the submission-login debug log (authentication).
I'm more interested in what happens after that. You'll need to enable
mail_debug=yes (at least for the user involved) to get that.
Regards,
Stephan.

dovecot-submission SMTP send error with Thunderbird (BODY=8BITMIME)
Hi,
With latest 2.3 -git (and 2.3.0 release), I'm running into this error
with Thunderbird:
"An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: 5.5.4
Unsupported mail BODY type. Please verify that your email address is
correct in your account settings and try again."
This is fatal and means Thunderbird cannot use the submission service -
fortunately I can revert

namespace problem / 1.1beta11
Hi all,
actually I got a problem with the namespaces in dovecot 1.1 beta11. It occured after purging index files and resynch via imapsync. Dovecot complains about "Unknown namespace", though it worked with versions before. I cannot comfirm for 1.1beta10, but I surely know 1.1beta9 worked with these settings.
Example:
From Folder [INBOX/Trash]

Capability problems dovecot 2.0
Hi,
I had some problems connecting TB 2.x with dovecot 2.0. TB2 complained about not being an IMAP4 server. TB 3 worked.
It seems that dovecot 2.0 doesn't return capabilities when queried. Maybe some wrong config, thoug?
Here are the debug logs from TB2 comparing dovecot 2.0 (not working) and dovecot 1.2 (working):

Bug: lmtp proxy does not quote local parts with spaces
There seems to be a bug with RFC822 processing in ltmp proxying that doesn't
quote local parts that, for example, contain spaces.

Dovecot 2.0+LMTP: Legal MAIL FROM rejected?
Hi,
I run Dovecot 2.0.13 fed by Postfix over LMTP. Today it rejected one
mail Postfix and Amavis accepted, generating a bounce. It was just a
spammail, but I think the sender address is legal according to RFC5321
and should be accepted. I don't like generating bounces, email should be
either rejected by postfix/pre-queue-amavis or delivered.

Dovecot LMTP rejecting mail from address with apostrophe
Hi,
I have an OpenSMTPD / Dovecot installation on an OpenBSD server. I recently came across an issue where Dovecot LMTP would reject a message sent to a local user from an address which contains a single apostrophe (e.g. firstname.o'lastname at example.com). Apparently apostrophe, as well as a number of other special characters, are valid characters in the local part of the email address
